Let me preface this by saying this is one of Revlon's scented nail polishes. The idea of scented nail polish is intriguing, but if you're sensitive to smells I don't think these are ideal for you. These tend to be intensely scented to the point I find them slightly nauseating. This is just me though, but I would like to throw it out there to those of us with more sensitive noses! Even though I say all that as you'll see below, I'm willing to make some sacrifices.
Not So Blueberry
Not So Blueberry is light-medium periwinkle foil metallic.
I absolutely love this color! I can't tell you enough. Usually when it comes to these foil/metallic finishes with color in them they are tend to be very lightly pigmented, but this one does have punch of color. Plus, it's in that blue-violet/blurple shade range which is one of my favorites. I don't own any other color like this.
Now on to the downside. This has one of those artificial fruity smells. It's very strong in my opinion and off putting. That all being said, I think for this type of color call me crazy, but I'll take a chance on the headache and queasiness that might ensue from putting on this polish.
What do we for nail polish! We drive around town visiting various locations for a certain polish ,we stalk e-tailers for new collections, we'll break out $$ for HTF colors, and now we'll settle for having a migraine just to wear a pretty color! That leads me to this question....
What is the most ridiculous thing you think you've done for nail polish?
Happy Tuesday!
I have ordered polishes from a salon in New Zealand. It was Nfu Oh polishes, before they were available for sale in North America. And, of course, I have stalked several stores, but I think that is more common.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour on you! I own this one too, and the scent doesn't bother me too much...I try not to touch my face too often, on purpose. :)
This is a lovely color! Its something the White Queen from Alice in Wonderland should wear. Too bad about the smell lol.
ReplyDeleteI had to give my hubby a lap dance for Illamasquas Viridian loool!
Ummm...I plead the 5th! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have been economical with the truth. As in: "New nail polish? Not for ages!" - muttering under my breath - As long as ages means 24 hours. A whole day IS ages, surely....
ReplyDeletePretty shade.
I've got this on my toes now, so problem solved about the smell, hah! its tooo far from my nose to even smell, but it's been holding on pretty well , prob almost a month and only one toenail needs touching up. not sure how i ended up doing a pedicure wtih this one since it's not a usual color for me but i'm enjoying it so far!
ReplyDeletei have this as well, i just keep my hands away from my face lol
ReplyDeleteOh my sooo pretty <3
ReplyDeleteThe first time I put this on I thought I wasn't going to handle the cloying candy smell, but it does fade after a while. I also have the strawberry and the cherry and they aren't nearly as strong. (I was a little disappointed that the strawberry doesn't smell like a Strawberry Shortcake doll though; that fakey plastic candy smell was kind of a good childhood memory.)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you made this post. I tried Revlon's "passion fruit" polish and like the colour but agree about the scent part (It doesnt bother me so much, but for those with more sensitive noses... maybe not the best polish choice). I debated this shade and agree it is so original... you may have just swayed me towards the "buy it" on my decision-scale
ReplyDeletethis color is amazing on you! I have a sensitive nose so I don't think I could wear it.
ReplyDeleteso pretty! It looks good on you! I have Ocean Breeze, which smells amazing so I'm sure this would smell amazing too!
ReplyDeleteNice polish.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour and i like Manicure Addicts idea about putting it on your toes so you cant smell it!
ReplyDeleteThe smell would get to me after a while especially when Im trying to sleep! Hopefully can find a dupe somewhere as the shades beautiful! I love purple/bluey shades :)
I think the intensity of the scent varies by color. I have almost the whole collection and while the Ocean Breeze and this one seem to have really pungent odors, I found that the peach and cotton candy ones were more sublte. And the Orange Pop smells JUST like orange soda! You can practically taste the fizz! :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteJust about every day I add nail polish to baskets in online stores, and press the X at top right before I get myself into mischief....well, most days I close the page, but not always!
I love this color, but I also love the smell!
ReplyDeletethis polish is gorgeous! I haven't seen these out in Australia yet. I'll have to keep an eye out.
ReplyDeleteI think the silliest thing I've done for nail polish is buy a whole makeup gift set to get a polish that came with it that looked like a chanel dupe... oh dear.
I just picked this and the ocean breeze color up, I haven't gotten around to them yet but they're so gorg in the bottle!
ReplyDeleteI can see why you'd suffer through a migraine for that polish! :)
ReplyDeleteMy lowest nail-polish related moment was during the SH Hidden Treasure insanity last year... I drove around everywhere. I ended up giving up though... and then finding it randomly at Kmart months later \o/
