Franken Neptune's Pool

**In "Share With You Sunday" I will now be featuring reader manis. If you'd like to submit yours click on"Share Your Mani" for more information. I only have one submission so far. Don't be shy! :)

Finally, I get to post this amazing polish! I got a new camera last week, and it has changed my swatching life completely. Believe it or not, I actually would not post certain polishes on my blog because my camera could not capture them properly. This was the case with this beauty, and I'm thrilled I get to post it now.

Long long ago RBL asked for people to submit dream polish idea for a fan collection. I submitted my idea, and it did not get chosen (wah wah wahhhhhh). The swatches I've seen of the chosen polishes are gorgeous though! Anyways, I shared my idea on my blog awhile ago, and Sarah from See Sarah Swatch frankened me my dream polish!

Neptune's Pool

Neptune's Pool is a royal blue jelly with a golden micro shimmer and iridescent flakies.

Ahhhh! I love this! It is such a beautiful polish. Sarah did an excellent job! In case you were wondering this was my inspiration....

Hearst Castle Photo: Trey Ratcliff www.stuckincustoms.com

This is the Roman Pool at Hearst Castle in San Simeon, California. It is absolutely beautiful. My parents and I used to spend every Christmas break on the central coast of California where this is located. So, in ways this was close to my heart. I love the mosaic tiles..the mixture of the blues..golds..lapis lazui...aqua....all of it!

Sarah did an excellent job of capturing this and putting it into a polish for me. Thank you so much Sarah! Sarah now has a shop on etsy called TwoBirdsOneStore where she sells frankens and handmade jewelry along with her sister Sandy. I bought some polishes from her shop recently which I'll be showing you later on!

Happy Wednesday!

  11. WOW Seph! This is really strikingly beautiful! I love how you can see into it vs. what I initially thought of which was something like Barielle's Falling Star that is a cornflower blue CREAM with copper flecks in it. The jelly really makes this amazing - it's as if you had to sit there and create a  jelly sandwich. I will certainly go and mark Sarah's etsy store. You hit my heart also in mentioning my home here. I live just down the road from Hearst Castle. Loved hearing how you used to spend Xmas here and have found memories of this area. Did you stay in Morro Bay, Cayucos or Cambria usually? I have lived here for 35 years. I adore it and KNOW how lucky I am to live here. It's a slice of magic!

  12. Wow! I had no idea you were from that area. We always stayed in Cambria. We have friends who own the Bluebird Inn.  My parents actually spent their honeymoon in Cambria, that's how it became yearly family tradition :). They fell in love with it!  When we'd visit we'd also take day trips down to Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo. I haven't been since 2005, and that's after going every year since I was born. I miss it oh so much. It is so peaceful and tranquil there. I could use a day at Moonstone Beach ASAP. You are VERY lucky to live there! I'm so excited to know another one of my readers is from there!

  16. I'm kind of glad it wasn't chosen. I wouldn't want people paying $18 for a polish anyways :P

  21.  Know right where the Bluebird Motel is! And too funny - one of my good friends and her husband were the managers there for a # of years before moving to Morro Bay to take over management of a mobile home park - was a much better deal for them - bigger free housing, better salary and more free time than at a motel. I never found any Moonstones on Moonstone beach, but have plenty of nephrite jade from beached up the coast a long Hwy 1. I always have my eyes open as some day, i will find a moonstone - just sure of it! But I settle for beach glass there! Mild winter here. The elephant seals just keep growing in heard size every year it seems. Years ago I took an impossibly hard course to train to be a guide at Hearst Castle - worked there for 1 summer. Funny when I go there now when I have new to the area company, I can still recite and give my own tours to them. We had to memorize every door frame, where it was from - you name it. That was when end of the summer the employees still were allowed to have a party at the outside pool and go swimming in it! Burrrr! Still have parties at pool side. The Castle is always so pretty at holiday time. I have a friend who works in antique restoration there. He gets me in still and we go up to collect balsam up the hill behind the castle to put in the house for decorating but most the aroma. I will tell the Bay hi from ya tomorrow. I am meeting someone for lunch on the Embarcadero in Morro....newer place called the Dockside - highly recommend it - good prices and they always have something even for lunch that is fresh just pulled in that AM catch of the day.

  23. I love your idea! It would've gone well with all the blues and greens that were chosen.
