L.A. Colors Family Ties

I spotted this color on a trip to Walmart last week.  I had never seen this "Color Last" line before by L.A. Colors and I don't see it listed on their website, which leads me to assume it's a Walmart exclusive. I can't confirm that though. This line claims to last 10 days on the nail. I'm not going to test out that theory as I never wear nail polish more than 5 or 6 days at time. I just bought it because of the pretty color!

Family Ties
Family Ties is a bright neon fuchsia pink jelly.

Collection: L.A. Colors Color Last

Color: I feel like there are so many hot pinks out there, but not many that go into this shade route. This is more of fuchsia, but it's still pink, it's just cooler toned than other hot pinks. I absolutely love this color. It's really vibrant and saturated.

Formula: When I first purchased this I thought it was a creme. It looks so opaque in the bottle, but when I applied it I realized it was a jelly formula. It's more opaque jelly, but it does have that squishy factor for sure. I used 3 coats above. I found the formula great and easy to apply.

Price: I didn't save my receipt, but I'm pretty sure this was either $1.99 or $2.99 at Walmart! I'm sorry I forgot, but I can't look it up either because it's not listed.

Overall: I really adore Family Ties. This color is amazing. I love the vibrancy and the surprise squishy factor. The price is great and it's always nice to find a great polish at such an easily accessible store.

L.A. Colors Dimple

I have another $1 L.A. Colors polish to share with you today. This was Dollar Tree find. Seriously, you all need to not bypass the L.A. Colors section at your Dollar Tree! I always underestimate a lot o of these polishes, and I'm learning otherwise now.

One thing I can tell you is, I absolutely hate the name of this polish. Dimple? Dimple makes me think of butt dimples, not cute cheek dimples. Dimple also makes me think of pimple. Not nice. Terrible name. This could of been named something better, but for $1 I shouldn't complain. I will though, horrible name.

Dimple
Dimple is a neon pastel orange creme.

Collection: L.A. Colors Color Craze Core

Color: What I like about this color is it's not neon pastel color I own. This definitely is more of a true orange than a peach or a coral. The color is very bright and vivid. It did cause my camera it freak out with how bright it is.  Orange isn't typically my color, but this one is pretty awesome!

Formula: I wish I could rave about how great this formula is like I did with Spring Flirt, but I can't. This formula isn't terrible, but it does take a bit of patience. This formula on Dimple is very sheer and streaky at first. It took me 4 coats to get even and opaque coverage.

Price: $1 at Dollar Tree

Overall: Despite it's abominable name and tricky formula, I still like Dimple (it pains me to keep typing that name out). It is unlike any other neon pastel color in my stash, and it's dirt cheap. The originality of this color makes this a win for me. I would change the name though to like Nuclear Orange or Atomic Tangerine. Just sayin'.

L.A. Colors Fruity

I have another surprising find at Dollar Tree to show you today. L.A. Colors has some really neat glitter polishes out now for only $1! I found a whole bunch at Dollar Tree recently. This one of them I picked up.

Fruity over Zoya Kelly
Fruity is a mix of neon green, yellow, and pink satin glitters in a clear base.

Collection: L.A. Colors Color Crazy Core

Color: This is a fun mix of glitter colors. Neon glitters are not easy to find in the drugstore, much less at Dollar Tree for $1!

Formula: This can't be perfect. You do get what you pay for here. What you win in color you definitely lose in formulation. This is a very sparse glitter in a heavy clear base. It is difficult to get glitters on your nail to stay on your nail. Dabbing is a preferred method. That being said, it's not atrocious, but don't expect a glitter bomb here in the slightest.

Price: $1 at Dollar Tree

Overall: For what it is it's great! Glitters like this for $1 are impossible to find in other brands, so this a winner in that retrospect. Formula is lacking, but shouldn't detract you from purchasing if you don't have a glitter like this in your collection, but want one.

LA Colors Nectar

I was at Dollar General recently and found some LA Colors. I think this brand is alright. I think their colors are a bit generic. They are not the most original with the exception of Blue Paradise. It's a nice brand for $1 though. I don't complain much if it has a low price!

Nectar

Nectar. Is a peachy-pink with a ton of golden shimmer.

I normally LOVE these shades. Gold shimmer is one of my favorites. I like this shade, but it's not my favorite. This color seems to channel Miami 1985 to me. It's bit too Golden Girl's Blanche Devereaux. I don't know if it's the base color or the amount of shimmer. The color itself is beautiful, but something about it seems dated. It could be just me though?

Wee Haul!

My parents sadly left yesterday. I feel silly being 24 and so attached to my parents. We live very far apart and I don't get to see them often. I really enjoy their visits. The past 2 weeks up until their visit had been rather hellish for me. I was struggling with a lot of stress, anxiety, and depression for various reasons. Thankfully, about mid-last week I started feeling myself again, and their visit really picked up my spirits. I'm sad to see them go, but I'm sure they'll be visiting again after the holidays. While they were here we did some shopping. I got some new clothes and of course nail polish! I wanted to share with you my goodies!

LA Colors L-R: Amethyst, Copper, Nectar, & Red Stilettos
I found these at Dollar General for $1 each. I also found Poshe Fast Drying Top Coat for $3 each! I grabbed  3 bottles of those!

China Glaze L-R: Midnight Mission, Zombie Zest, Kiwi Cool-Ada, & Emerald Fitzgerald
I got all of these at Sally's. All of them where on sale for $1.99 except for Zombie Zest.

LA Splash L-R: Terra Beach, Treasure Splash, Sparkling Rose, French Sparkle, Pretty Jellyfish, Pink Dream, Sparkling Gold, & Glitz & Berry
I think I now have an LA Splash addiction. These were on sale at Ulta for $1.99 each.

L-R: Nite Lites Pink Flamingo & Borghese Rossi Apple
I got both of these at Ulta. The Nite Lites was $2.99 and I got the Borghese on sale for $1.99

Lane Bryant L-R: Island Volcano & Mahalo Dream

First of all, I had no idea Lane Bryant had nail polishes, but I'm glad they did. I got these at the Lane Bryant outlet. These are jam packed glitter flakies!!!! I just wish the names were switched. It would of made more sense if the reddish one was Island Volcano. These were $6.00 each but it was BOGO 1/2 off. Pretty pricey in my opinion. The other colors were very general, but for these flakies I think it was worth it!

That's what I got this past weekend. Swatches to come soon. I can't wait to show you these flakies. That blue one is amazing!!!

Happy Tuesday!

L.A. Colors Swatches

Before I share the swatches with you I wanted to just make you aware of some things I added to my blog. I updated my header. I think it looks better. There are no missed spelled words and it's cleaned up!. If you look above you'll see links to pages. If you click on "My Stash" it will show you a complete list of all the nail polish I have. If you're interested in seeing a certain color(s) swatched you can email me or leave me comment! Also, on my sidebar I added a poll. I think I'll do weekly polls just for fun and some to help me out with future giveaways!

On to L.A. Colors! This is my first experience with these and overall I'm pleased.
Pros:
-Amazing variety in finishes (duochrome, shimmer, jelly, creme, neon, frost, foil, glitter)
-Great price
-Plenty of colors to choose from
Cons:
-Some of the colors formulas are thin and require many coats

Blue Paradise

This is beautiful original color. I haven't seen a color like it. It's pale blue-violet shimmer with a gold/pink duochrome. It is gorgeous. This goes on very sheer. It took me around 5-6 coats to get this result. I think it would be great for layering but personally I think it's worth the extra coats to wear it on its own!

Enchanting

This is a lavender shimmer with gold/pink duochrome. Beautiful shade. Again, like Blue Paradise this went on very sheer. I did this in 4 coats and you can still see a bit of VNL (visible nail line). Regardless, beautiful color and totally worth the extra effort!

Antique Burgundy

This is the only color I'm disappointed in. In the bottle this appeared to be more of bronzy red w/ gold shimmer. On the nail it looks more like a true red with subtle gold shimmer. The color has burgundy in its name and there is nothing burgundy about it. It's a pretty color but not unlike many reds I already have. :(

Berry

In the bottle I thought this was going to be a berry-red creme, but on the nail it is a berry-red jelly! I love jellys and this was a pleasant surprise. I definitely do not have a color like this especially with a jelly finish.

Metallic Pink

This is pink silvery foil! This is definitely a winner especially for $2. This looks great and really only needs 1 coat. I think I'm going back to the store to get the metallics in other colors

Pink Sizzle

I LOVE this one. Pink Sizzle is a pink-violet shimmer with gold duochrome. It is a beautiful color that looks different at different angles and light. It reminds me of a sunset.

That's all for L.A. Colors swatches? What do you think of these colors do you have a favorite?

Enjoy the rest of the day!

Wet N' Wild Swatches & L.A. Colors Haul

Wet N' Wild has done an amazing job at re-vamping their brand. I have been trying all their products and I am very impressed. They are current, the quality is great, and best of all it's all for a great price! I must say my favorites are their eye shadow palettes and their nail polishes! I picked up these 2 polishes the other day.

Blackmail

This is unique black. This is a black creme base with a ton of mixed micro glitter mixed in. It's unlike any other black I have used which tend to be cremes or have sliver glitter mixed in. The glitter in here is mainly bronze but there is also silver, green, and purple.

Shield

Shield is a champagne/gold metallic with bits of silver and bronze mixed in. I don't have any colors like this so I'm really excited. It's a great metallic or would you call this a foil? I'm not sure. I'm so bad at identifying finishes.

Today I found another beauty supply store. I think it's a local store because when I looked it up in only showed local in my city. They had great prices, but the people there were far from professional. One of the ladies working there was on her cell phone yelling obscenities while I was in there :-/. They had OPIs for $7, Orly's for $5, and L.A. Colors for $2. I think I can ignore the lady on the phone for cheap polish. I got some LA Colors polishes there. These are my first polishes from this brand so I'm excited.

L-R:
Berry, Blue Paradise, Enchanting, Antique Burgundy, Metallic Pink, & Pink Sizzle

Anyone have experience with this brand? Thoughts? Favorites? I'll be posting swatches of these later in the week.

Have a great day!
