Throwback Thursday: Misa Bikini With a Martini

My brain completely stopped functioning last month. I totally forgot about Throwback Thursday last month. I am SO sorry! That was not intentional at all! Throwback Thursday is back now.

I have a bright neon for you today, and a neon I rarely see in nail polish world--neon red. I see a lot of wannabe neon reds, but this one is the real deal. This real deal is made by the brand Misa, a brand I so wish was in stores because they make some nice polishes.

Bikini With a Martini
Bikini With a Martini is a neon red semi-jelly.

Color: This color isn't joking around, and it is even a little bit brighter in person. I currently am wearing this, and it attracts attention. This is a hot red, and I'd say it does lean a touch to the orange side of things, but I'd still call it red.

Collection: Look on the Bright Side Summer 2008(?)

Formula: Very smooth and easy to apply formula. You can get away with 2 coats easily. I call this a semi jelly because it's not quite a jelly, not quite a creme. I'd call this 80% jelly 20% creme. This does dry on the matte side like most neons, so top coat is a must!

Price: This is currently $3.00 on Head2Toe Beauty

Overall: I love this red. I don't own any neon reds like this at all, this definitely fills a hole in my collection. I also don't know of any colors like this out right now. Gorgeous in your face red neon!

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters
Happy Thursday!

Misa Bikini With A Martini

I am very much into this neon craze lately. I was craving neons back in January. What's funny is I have about as much fashion knowledge and sensibilities as a caterpillar, yet neon is the newest trend. I had no idea it was a trend, so for me to like a trend before I knew it was a trend is rather miraculous. Hah. I think one neon polish color that doesn't get much attention is red. We've all seen neon pinks, yellows, oranges, and greens, but reds are rare. This Misa polish gives tribute to the neon red!

Bikini With A Martini is a bright neon red.

This is highlighter red! It is hot! The formula on this was great. The color is great. There is not much more I can say. I only have 2 Misa polishes, and I've been very impressed with them. My only complaint is I wish you could find these in some stores. They are very reasonably priced, and it would be nice if these were more mainstream because I think it would be a popular brand. I know you can get these from Head2Toe Beauty for now. Misa come to stores please!

Happy Thursday!

Misa Toxic Seduction

Here we go with the greens again! What has gotten into me? I got this beautiful color in a swap from one of my readers named Amanda. Thank you so much! This one had been on my wishlist for awhile. This is one of my firsts Misa polishes, so I was excited.

Toxic Seduction

Toxic Seduction is a deep rich blue-toned green with intense lighter green shimmer.

Splendid! Toxic Seduction is just that...seductive. This is a "top polishes of all time" type of polish. It is a must have. In fact, go grab yourself a bottle. It's in the Poinsoned Passion collection. I'm definitely going to be shopping Misa polishes after seeing this beauty. Thank you again to Amanda!

Happy Wednesday!

Yuck! I HATE this color!

I am sure I'm not the only one to have that reaction to a nail polish color. As much as we all love nail polish we have to admit we have come across colors that we hate and kick ourselves for buying.

This is how feel about a particular color. Now, before I get into it this is my personal opinion on this color. You may love this color and it may look good on you, but for me it doesn't work out.

The color I'm talking about is Misa Fleeting Hibiscus. I have 2 reasons for buying this one of them being a petty reason the other being what I thought was a valid reason. The petty reason is I love hibiscus flowers, so I was drawn to the name. The valid reason is I saw a swatch of this somewhere else and it looked way different than what I came up with!

Misa Fleeting Hibiscus

Fleeting Hibiscus can best be described as crushed up chalky Pepto Bismol stomach tablets that is mixed in with the poop from a bird who swallowed frosty eye shadow from my wacky aunt who likes to wear overly happy Christmas tree nail stickers on her nails. I'm very susceptible to the power of suggestion or I'm just a hypochondriac. I see something that reminds me of Pepto Bismol and it makes me nauseous. My mom used to shove that stuff down my throat when I was sick saying it would make me feel better, but it never did it just made me throw up. Suffice it, i to say Pepto Bismol colors literally make me queasy because of what they remind me of :P.

Ok, to be fair a more appropriate description would be... that this is a frosty-pearl baby pink. I hate this. This looks terrible on my skin tone and I think it makes my hands look sickly. This looks like frosty chalk that someone mixed in water and called it nail polish. I really don't like it. I saw a swatch of this and it looked like a brighter pink with silver shimmer. I was wrong. I shouldn't of been so impulsive to by it because of the name and with only seeing one swatch. You live and you learn. However, as much as I despise this color I'm sure it may look nice on someone, but it isn't my cup of tea. I'm sure some of you may even love this color. No worries, I will not hold it against you. We all have different tastes. :)

Is there a color you absolutely hate? What color is it?

Happy Wednesday!
