Neiman Marcus Project Beauty Event

On January 19th, the Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida were invited to the Project Beauty event at Neiman Marcus. Neiman Marcus has been an amazing supporter of our blogger group, and has generously included us in many of their events.


The highlight of this event was the speaker Dr. Susan Mitchell. Dr. Mitchell is a a nutrition expert who has appeared on CNN and the TODAY show. Dr. Mitchell spoke to all the Project Beauty attendees about the foods we can eat to help have better skin.


Dr. Mitchell stressed the point of feeding your skin well using the following formula:

B is for Berries which are rich in Vitamin C
E is for Eggs which contain protein 
A is for Almonds or other nuts which are rich in Vitamin E
U is for Unsweetened Tea which is great for hydration
T is for a Trendy Vegetable that vegetable is kale
Y is for You 

I really enjoyed this cute formula Dr. Susan Mitchell created. I also liked that it seemed very do-able and easy. She didn't make it seem like you had to be a health-nut or a nutrition expert to be able to accomplish this! I'm so glad unsweetened tea was part of this formula too. I know we're told to drink water, but Dr. Mitchell said tea can provide us with hydration too. The "Y" in this formula was important too. Dr. Mitchell stressed the importance of taking care of yourself and your needs.

Dr. Mitchell also left us with this great Green Smoothie recipe to try:

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1 ripe pear or apple, peeled if desired, chopped
  • 2 cups of chopped organic kale leaves, tough stems removed
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 12 ice cubes
  • 1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed
Blend all in a blender

Neiman Marcus Guerlain & Champagne Event

Last week, the Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida were invited back to Neiman Marcus Orlando for a special Guerlain & Champagne event. Guerlain kindly introduced us to their fall line. This line is being launched first at Neiman Marcus.

The theme for this collection is Femme Fatale and Femme D'Amour. We were each given quizzes to determine which we were. (Many thanks to Phyrra and Niftyba for these photos!)



I scored as a Femme D'Amore.


The left side of this display represents Femme Fatale. The shades and color range here are rich and saucy shades. The right side of the display featured Femme D'Amore. These are softer and more romantic shades.

I actually love both Femme Fatale and Femme D'Amore there is certainly something for everyone and every occasion. The highlight of this collection were definitely the Rouge G L'Extriat lipsticks. These are semi-matte lipsticks. They had a range of shades from vampy, bright, soft, to neutral. We all go to try some of these shades!


The collection also featured some new Kiss Kiss Glosses, blush duos, and some eyeshadow quads.



This was a a very fun event. It was neat to see what is up and coming in fall as far as color schemes and finishes.

On the way out we received a little gift box with some Guerlain skincare products to try!


Guerlain is having an event from August 6th-11th at Neiman Marcus. They will be doing facial treatments, color application, and a presale of the new fall collection. If you make any purchase during this event you get complimentary mini bottle of Guerlain Shalimar perfume.

Neiman Marcus Beauty Blogger Event

This past Saturday, the Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida met up for a great event at Neiman Marcus. I made a contact through Neiman Marcus last summer, and I reached out to them about our new local Beauty Blogger group. Neiman Marcus graciously offered to host us one morning and introduce us to all of their wonderful brands in their cosmetics department.

This was a wonderful opportunity and experience. It has only become clear to me recently the importance of bloggers in the beauty industry. I never realized just how much influence bloggers really have on consumers. I must say for Neiman Marcus to recognize the value of bloggers in the beauty world was very special.

The event was very informative. We all were separated into four groups, and we rotated around to four stations where 3-4 beauty specialists from each brand gave us the background about their brands and introduced us to some of their top products. I learned so much about each individual brand and their mission, passion, and love for making women feel beautiful and confident. This information really brought this all home for me. As beauty bloggers or people in the beauty industry we love beauty products because they make us feel good, they boost our confidence, and they allow us to be playful and creative. It was nice to see that people in the beauty industry and these brands share the same sentiment about beauty that bloggers do. It's not just sales for them, and it's not just page follows or Facebook likes for us. This is a passion for all of us alike and we like to share that message and purpose with either their customers or our readers!

I want to briefly go through the different brands that presented to us with some facts and products from each of them. I also will link each brand to their page on the Neiman Marcus site as well as links to the particular products.

I am so grateful to Neiman Marcus Orlando and all of their staff who helped to organize this event. A special thanks to all the beauty specialists that took the time to explain their lines and provided our group with samples. It was an amazing event and wonderful learning opportunity that we all gained so much from.
