Way-Cool Mani Wednesday: Lilac & Nude

I've come up with a new feature "Way-Cool Mani Wednesday" The past two Wednesdays, I've done posts featuring some fun, two accent, glittery, nail art, or all three type manis. This is a change for me, as I'm usually a nail polish purest. I have to say I'm loving experimenting with different colors, finishes, and sometimes nail art in one mani!

I'd love to make this a weekly feature to show you what I've come with. Be mindful, I'm not some nail artist, so don't expect some masterpieces here. You can expect to see some fun, simple, and easy to do yourself way-cool manis! I hope you like this new weekly feature.

Here is a mani I did using all three of the mentioned above, two accents, glittery, and nail art!

Polishes Used: Karadshian Beauty Afterglow, OPI Do You Lilac It, and NOPI Inner Sparkle (Selena Gomez)
Manicure Description: I painted my thumb, index, and pinky finger with Kardashian Beauty Afterglow. I painted my middle finger with Afterglow, and used the Saran Wrap technique of OPI Do You Lilac It? on top. My ring finger is Do You Lilac It? topped with NOPI Inner Sparkle.

I really love this one. I like the pairing of the colors, and how the whole thing turned out. It's a softer look, but  with something a little special!

Happy Wednesday!

Nicole by OPI Sweet Dreams

I promised myself after Nicole by OPI's A Gold Winter's Night I would never by another NOPI polish ever again. I actually love their color selection and their polishes, but you all know why I said this.... I hate the bottles. I can never figure out the right angle to photograph these polishes holding the bottle where they look right. Oh well, I lied. When I saw the some of the glitters in the Selena Gomez collection I had to have some. This is one of them I picked up.

Sweet Dreams over L'Oreal Not a Cloud in Sight

Sweet Dreams is a mixture of aqua, lavender, and silver glitters in a clear base.

I love the combination of colors here, and that's why I picked it up. I think aqua and teal is one of my favorite color combinations too. It's really nice to see some mainstream brands coming out with fun glitters! I love my indies, but it's always nice to find some fun glitters in a store! I picked this one up at K-Mart. I know many people don't have K-Mart, but I also saw these at Ulta, and I think it's been spotted at other stores.  I believe I used 2 coats here, and the application was easy.

Happy Thursday!

Nicole by OPI One Big Happy Fame-ily

-rant- Let me start off with this. I seriously cannot stand the Kardashians, well more so I can't stand Kim. It seriously hurts my brain to think about her. I do not care about her relationships. I do not care about her pregnancy. I think she consumes too much space in our universe that should be used for more intellectual, serious, or meaningful things. If you are someone who idolizes Kim Kardashian, you and I probably wouldn't be friends. The conflicting thing about this Kardashian thing, is NOPI came out with some great colors with their line. Kardashian or not, I will always love a great polish even if it hurts my ego a bit to have it -rant over-

Nicole by OPI One Big Happy Fame-ily

One Big Happy Fame-ily is a soft lavender with a silver/lavender shimmer.

This polish is gorgeous. Lilacs/Lavender shades are some of my absolute favorite colors come this time of year and heading into spring. The best part about this one is the shimmer. This is not a typical finish I've seen in many polishes in this color family. The color is soft, airy, and feminine. I love it. I'll just ignore the name!

*I received this product to review from the Central Florida Beauty Bloggers via Nicole by OPI.

Happy Monday!

Nicole by OPI A Gold Winter's Night- Two Ways

It was one of those trips to Target, where I'm nearing the checkout near the cosmetics, and I spot a pretty polish. This time it was Nicole by OPI A Gold Winter's Night which is part of the Kardashian Holiday collection. As I got closer I realized this was a bar glitter. I'm not really a bar glitter fan at all, unless it's those teeny tiny ones that are mixed in glitter bombs. This was so sparkly and pretty though that I could resist. I know I can hear the bar glitter haters screams of horror already, but I actually like this one!

A Gold Winter's Night over Cult Nails Nevermore

A Gold Winter's Night is a mixture of a micro rose glitter, blue iridescent bar glitters, and gold bar glitters in a clear base.

A Gold Winter's Night over Zoya Kennedy

What I like about this A Gold Winter's Night is it's not your stereotypical holiday polish. Honestly, as much I love Christmas colors, I do not want to wear them all the time in December. This is glitzy, sparkly, and totally reads holiday season without it being the obligatory red and green. It's really girly too, which I would expect coming from a Kardashian collection. I love this combination of colors. Blue, gold, and pink is definitely unexpected but work well together!  I used 2 coats over the base polishes here. I personally do not find glitters like this wearable on their own. While, it can build up, since there are varying sizes of glitter you will not get 100% coverage. There will be bald spots, so I recommend layering. The formula was easy to work with, but I'm not a fan of the wide brush.

I'm scared to ask but...

Pretty or cringe-worthy?

*Can I just add how much I hate NOPI bottles. They are are impossible to hold properly. As you can see my pinkys are unfocused because of the stupid bottle shape.  Grawr.

Happy Wednesday!

Nicole by OPI Kim-pletely in Love

Well...isn't this awkward. -Rolls eyes- I don't think Kim is Kim-pletely in love anymore. I did not shed any tears. I'm sure many of us didn't. There are far more important and significant things in the world than that topic. Anyways, I actually was drawn to this Nicole by OPI polish when first I saw swatches. I've always liked the sheer-jelly pale pinks and nudes, so this one was on my list.

Kim-pletely in Love

Kim-pletely in love is light sheer pink with micro blue glass fleck. (At least this is what I think it is?)

I've seen other peoples swatches of this and they get a an even look with 3 coats. I still had streakiness with 3 coats? I always have this problem with shades like this, and it really ticks me off. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Maybe, I need polish underwear? Maybe I need to wait longer in between coats? Maybe I need to stand on my head, bark like a dog, and make a cucumber salad? Do I need to praise some polish unicorn mermaid fairy goddess?  Whatever the magic secret is to this please let me know? This is a beautiful polish. I recommend it if you love polishes that give you a clean look that have a touch of pizazz. I'm just annoyed that colors like this are such a pain in the acetone!

Happy Friday!

Nicole by OPI Glitters

My best friend had sent me a Target giftcard for my birthday, so the other day I decided to use it. What else what I use it on other than nail polish? I think I am even more picky when I have a gift card. I want to spend it something I normally wouldn't buy, which lead to me these Nicole by OPI glitters. These were fall Target exclusives, so you can only get them at Target! :)

Sensational Scarlet
Sensation Scarlet is a magenta jelly packed with magenta and silver fine glitters with a slightly chunkier silver holographic glitter. This reminds me of the China Glaze glitters from last fall. The required a few coats of top coat to smooth out the grittiness. This is my favorite of the 3 I bought.

Such A Go-Glitter
This is Such A Go-Glitter layered over Ulta3 Hollywood. This a clear base glitter top coat with bright blue, gold, and silver littler holographic glitters. I don't think I made a good choice when layering it over this blue. The blue glitter was an exact match for the polish so it blends right into the nail. I actually really like how it looks but you can't see the blue glitter!

Pitch-Black Glimmer
This is Pitch-Black Glimmer layered over WnW Black Creme. It is a clear based glitter top coat packed with black, silver, and holographic glitters. This reminds me of Revlon glitter Galaxy minus the hexagonal glitters. I prefer this one the glitter is more compact and shows off better on the nail.

Overall, I really love these glitters. I was disappointed that Such A Go-Glitter and Pitch-Black Glimmer were glitter top coats rather than jam packed jelly-glitters, but performance wise I really do like them. These were $7.04 each which puts them high on the price for what I normally buy. I think if I was going in with my own money I would only purchased one or two of these on separate occasions to spread the money out! My favorites are definitely Sensational Scarlet and Pitch-Black Glimmer. I love how Such A Go-Glitter looks in the bottle, but I think I'd try to layer it over a different blue or even black because the glitter blended into the blue I used. I don't want to unfairly judge it! These are Target fall exclusives so if these look interesting to you, it's a a good idea to pick them up because they won't be there forever!

Happy Friday!
