China Glaze Golden Seal

I have another one of the China Glaze Ulta exclusives to share with you today. When I bought these I totally bought them on a whim. I didn't see them in person, and was hoping I'd luck out. The ones I got, I feel I did get lucky. This next one is really nice!

Golden Seal over JulieG Oh Em Gee
Golden Seal is a mix of gold shard/shredded glitters in a clear base.

Color: This is pretty straight forward, but I LOVE it. I don't recall really seeing any gold shard glitters like this before. I've seen flake glitters, and gold shard glitters mixed with other type glitters. I haven't seen one on it's own before. This is a very blingy gold too.

Formula: Excellent formula. I love the sizes of the glitters. I know some glitters like this you can get a mix of ginormous chunks and few smaller pieces. This has a nice balance of small and medium shards. This applies so easily too. I didn't have to dab this on at all. The glitters didn't stick together. This just painted on the nail perfectly.

Price: This cost $7.50 at Ulta.

Overall: I'm in love with Golden Seal. Like I said, it's pretty straight forward, but sometimes when simple is done right, it is spectacular. Beautiful glitter topper polish. Must have. I adore this!

My Rating: 5 out of 5 *Golden* Paint Splatters

Ulta Lav-ish

Some of the most difficult color families for me of nail polish are of the greige, taupe, and granvender variety. There is something about these colors that can be described as "muddy" that do not work well with my skin tone. They make me hands look dirty and red. The problem I find with this is these types of colors are very on trend, chic, and I like the way they look. I spotted Ulta Lav-ish, and was instantly attracted to it, but I had that thought in the back of my head that this color may just not work well on me. Thankfully, I was wrong and found this shade of "gravender" to be a more forgiving shade.

Lav-ish

Lav-ish is a dusty muted lavender with a subtle golden shimmer.

That's not so bad! I actually love it! Phew! I think what makes this work for me, is that it leans more to the lavender side than the gray. It also has more of a dusty and soft appearance than a muddy one. The golden shimmer helps it too. It's certainly nice to find a color like this that I can confidently wear and feel good about. If you have trouble with the types of shades I mentioned above I'd really recommend checking out Lav-ish, I think it maybe what you've been looking for. I also really cannot think of color out there quite like it. The formula was nice, and it applied well. The Ulta brand polishes go on sale frequently, so it also affordable and easy to find. :)

Ulta Blue Streak

I've been on a bright blue kick lately. You know who got me into bright blues? Joan Rivers. Have you seen the nail polish this woman wears? She rocks all kinds of funky colors, and she's 78 years old! I hope I can be as awesome as she is at 78! Anyways, I saw her wearing this in your face bright medium blue creme one day, and I've have my eye out on bright blues ever since. This Ulta polish was one of the first bright blues I picked up.

Ulta Blue Streak

Blue Streak is a bright medium blue creme.

I love love love this color. You know that meme "Buy all the polish!". I'm very much "buy all the bright blues" ! This color is great, and you may get lucky if you check out your Ulta's clearance section, I found this one in their older square bottles for around $2.00. :)

What are some of your favorite bright blues? I only have a few (this one, OPI Dating a Royal, and an LA Girls one), and could use some more recommendations.  I'm DYING to get my hands on Nails Inc. Baker Street! Let me know your favorites in the comments!

Ulta Love My Blackberry

A few months ago, an Ulta opened up a mile away from me. This has been a blessing and a curse. It's nice to be able to just drive 5 minutes and be at Ulta's doorstep whenever I want, but that is also the problem. I really try to keep my visits there to a minimum. I only really go once a month now, and always with a coupon! I found this pretty on sale there last time.

Ulta Love My Blackberry

Love My Blackberry is a super glowy blue-violet shimmer.

I love the shimmer in this.  The color really changes depending on how the light hits it. I like how at certain angles the vibrancy of the color fades into black on the edges. I hope that makes sense.  I'm terrible at describing some of these pretty polish phenomena. It's definitely a neat color!

Ulta Under the Sea Set

"The seaweed is always greener in somebody else's lake. You dream about going up there but that is a big mistake. Just look at the world around you, right here on the ocean floor, such wonderful things surround you, what more is you looking for?.....Under the sea...lalala"

I couldn't resist. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie, so I had to get these polishes even though they are sans the Disney. They were able to incorporate the idea without copyright infringement I'm assuming? :P I got this set at Ulta for $7.99. I also am giving away set as one of the prizes for my giveaway that ends today!

I did the swatches a bit different this time, since these bottles are so tiny. I only swatched these on one finger each.

Tip the Scales
Tip the Scales is an emerald green with gold glass fleck.

Tail of Two Cities

Tail of Two Cities is a tangerine with gold glass fleck.

Mermaid Heaven
Mermaid in Heave rose pink with gold glass fleck.

Don't Be Shellfish
Don't Be Shellfish is a grape purple with gold glass fleck.

I love these shades! I wish they had full size bottles of these. I would buy them all! These are kind of reminiscent of some colors in Zoya's Sunshine collection, but these are definitely more pigmented as far as color goes. I think these are perfect for summer. I actually think these would be great to travel with for a summer getaway. They're small and convenient to carry. :)

For your viewing pleasure...

Happy Friday!

Ulta Pinata Yada Yada

I must thank my boyfriend for seeing this polish. We were shopping in the shopping center Ulta was in, and the second I say "Can we go into Ulta just for a few minutes", I get the automatic pitiful groan. When I'm with him I try to be fair and do a quick skim of the store. I was about to done skimming and was just standing by the Ulta polishes thinking if I missed something, and he was bored out of his mind putting polishes that were in the wrong slots in the right one. So, he picks up Pinata Yada Yada which I see out of the corner of my eye, and snatch it from him. Multi-color sparkly glitter...must have! I'm sure he wishes he didn't do that. I pay for my own polish, but he has to live with all. I know he just tolerates it, but he can manage. :P

Pinata Yada Yada over black
Pinata Yada Yada over white
Pinata Yada Yada is a clear base with differently sized blue, green, silver, pink, red, & gold glitters.

There are lot of colors in here I may of even missed on. These multi-colored glitter bomb top coats seem to be pretty popular lately. I know this was started by Deborah Lippmann "Happy Birthday". So far I know of Milani Gems, Wet n' Wild Party of 5 Glitters, NYX Carnival, and of course this Ulta one. I love these glitters especially since I don't have to pay $18 for them! A bottle of Pinata Yada Yada is in one of my prize packs for my current giveaway!

Happy Thursday!

Ulta Glitterati Set

I got this set of mini polishes a few weeks ago at Ulta. I'm sucker for glitters, so this of course drew me in! I think I got this set for $7.99, but I could be wrong. I see it on the Ulta website now for $4.99. This is a much better deal. I don't have many Ulta polishes, but the ones I have I've been impressed with. I love their little sets!

Ulta Glitterati Set
This set comes with 4 tiny bottles of polish. Yes, these are small bottles, but they're great. This would be a great stocking stuffer I think! These were all 3 coats each, so these are not top coats. :)

Paparazzi
Paparazzi is my favorite of the set. This one is the most pigmented. Unlike the others this has a purple base with purple glitter, silver glitter, and silver holographic glitter.

And the Oscar Goes to....
And the Oscar Goes To...this is my second favorite. This a compact gold glitter, silver glitter, and holographic silver glitters.

Tinseltown
Tinseltown is a dense red glitter, silver glitter, and holographic silver glitters. I was unimpressed with this one. Unlike the gold and the purple this was just fine glitters that really didn't give great coverage. I guess I've been spoiled by Milani Red Sparkle! I think this one needed more red and less silver.

Tweet Worthy

Tweet Worthy is an aqua blue glitter, silver glitter, and silver holographic glitter. I love the shade of blue in this one! It kind of reminds me of some of the OPI Burlesque glitters.

Overall, I enjoy this little set. It's a nice variation of color and great for glitter lovers! I think it's better at the $4.99 price though!

Happy Monday!

P.S. Please forgive me for my lack of replying to comments. I'm in the middle of exam week. I will catch up soon!

I'm not feeling great today, so I'm not feeling up to a normal post. I figured I would show you some recent damage I did. Ulta, TransDesign, & Sally's are dangerous places. Thankfully, I had an Ulta gift card, but I have no excuse for the rest! :P Swatches will be coming in the future!

Ulta Glam Goth Set

It's rare that I find a set of polishes that I adore each and every one of them, but Ulta Glam Goth is that rare exception. I am so glad that I came across this collection! The whole set was $9.95 and totally worth every penny, even though the bottles are small. These colors are rich, deep, bold, and full of pizazz! <3

Black Lace
Well, Black Lace isn't really black. It's a very deep dark gray creme. This is the only creme of the collection, but it isn't a shy or subtle shade. I love this one, I've been accumilating more grays lately and this is nice addition. I haven't seen any gray polishes that are this dark. It's a nice variation than your typical dark purples, blues, and pure blacks. It's unique.

For Bitten
Now we're talking! For Bitten is my kind of color. I am in love. It is a blackened base mixed in with deep red/burgundy glitter. I'd say this is China Glaze Ruby Pumps evil cousin or something. I absolutely love this original shade! It's so rich vampy and I love to have some tacky room with this type of color with sparkle on the walls.....ok maybe not. It may look like I'm living in a brothel.

Tainted Love
We have another winner here! Tainted Love is beautiful emerald green with green and gold micoglitter mixed in. I'd have to say greens are my least favorite color as far as nail polish goes and my skin tone, but this is a definite exception! I may even throw out there this is my favorite green above China Glaze Emerald Sparkle...shhhhhh no hating!

Underground
Underground is a blackened base with teal shimmer throughout. It's another gorgeous color. I love these deep luxurious shades.

After Hours
After Hours is a deep blue-violet with blue, purple, and pink shimmer mixed in. Again, another great one in my opinion. If I HAD to pick a least favorite in the set I'd probably say this one, but it is far from bad or even average. It's still a great color I really like.

I think this is a winning collection. Personally, I don't have any shades in my nail polish collection similar to these. I know I've read other bloggers reviews who say otherwise, but as far as my collection goes these are very unique and beautiful to me. I definitely say this is a must have set!

Do you have the Ulta Glam Goth set? What are you favorites in this collection?

Happy Monday!
