Fresh Paint Purple Rain

I have a Fresh Paint polish to share with you today. This a brand that can be found at Five Below. If you've been following me a little while you know I've been a fan of these polishes. I think they make excellent cremes and for a great price. I picked up this one a little awhile ago.

Purple Rain
Purple Rain is a dusty orchid creme.

Color: Remember Pantone's 2014 Color of the Year Radiant Orchid? This is what this color reminds me of just a hint more muted and dusty. I adore colors like this and I've really been into dusty/muted colors lately. I think they really do read as neutrals which make them so versatile. This is a gorgeous purple color and I'm in love with it!

Formula: This had an excellent and smooth formula. I used 2 coats above.

Price: Fresh Paint polishes are 3 for $5 at Five Below, so why buy one when you can buy 3 for the price that is less than one mainstream polish!

Overall: This is a beautiful color. I love the dustiness of this purple shade and I think it's a winning polish!

Fresh Paint Splash of Cran

I stopped by Five Below recently and was once again sucked into some Fresh Paint polishes. I really enjoy this brand. I think they make excellent cremes and I really have enjoyed most all of the polishes I have purchased. I also love that they're 3 for $5 at Five Below. You can't beat that. I picked up this color during my recent visit.

Splash of Cran
Splash of a Cran is a cranberry creme.

Color: No, I know this color isn't original, but I think it's pretty awesome. I love this pinky/purple red creme. It's a classic and very put-together color. It's one of those shades that is flattering and looks great with anything. I love the creaminess of this shade. I know many reds can be more jelly-like than a creme, but this is definitely a creme!

Formula: This had a great and easy to use formula. I used 2 coats above.

Price: This was I believe $1.99 individually, but why pay for one when you can get 3 for $5 at Five Below.

Overall: This is an excellent classic type shade with a great price. I love this type of color and it had a great formula. I know this isn't unique enough for many, but I enjoy it! I think it's a great color for this time of year.

Fresh Paint Guava

Fresh Paint is a brand I discovered this past year at Five Below. I have really come to love the brand because they're really well-made polishes that come in a variety of colors. They're not indie innovative like polishes, but they're solid staple colors for a collection. I haven't come across a polish of theirs I didn't like until now.

Guava
Guava is a neon coral pastel creme.

Collection: N/A

Color: It's not the color I have a problem with. Neon pastels have been a thing for the past 3 years and I think they still are. This is very neon and very pastel. It's a great coral shade that gives me fingers and instant tan.

Formula: Here is where we go amiss. Pastel neons as pretty as they are can have some of the least forgiving formulas. This formula was rather chalky, thick, and not a pleasure to apply. It's very hard to have precision with formulas like this and it definitely shows if you're not a perfect polisher. It's clear I don't have uniform lines, especially around the cuticle. Normally, I'd blame myself since I am "Imperfectly Painted", but it's really the pain in the butt formula to blame. This one is just too much effort than it's worth.

Price: I bought 3 polishes for $5. That's the sale Five Below has with a majority of their nail polishes.

Overall: Nice color, not a great formula. This is the type of polish where you know as you put the brush to your nail you're going to have a bad time. I hate my paint job with this one because of the formula, so I have irrational rage towards this polish now. Go away Guava. I hate you.

Fresh Paint Emma

Back at it again with another Fresh Paint polish. Can you tell I like this brand yet? This brand is sold at Five Below and is always buy 3 for $5. They always come out with new shades every few months or so and what they have to offer is usually pretty good shade wise. This neutral shade was one I picked up recently.

Emma
Emma is a neutral pink creme.

Collection: N/A

Color: I'm not sure how to describe this color exactly, but it's definitely in the neutral/nude category of pink shades. I like colors like this because look very clean and chic on the nails while still having that pop of color. I think this shade would be universally flattering and definitely office appropriate.

Formula: Excellent formula. I used 2 coats above.

Price: These are 3 of $5 at Five Below.

Overall: I know this may not be the most exciting color in the world, but there is definite time, place, and mood for colors like this. I often gravitate to them when I want a clean look on my nails after doing a streak of crazy colors and glitter. Sometimes I just want something simple, believe it or not! Fresh Paint makes great colors with great formulas, so it's worth checking out.

Fresh Paint Charlotte

I think you're seeing a theme with me here. I really like Fresh Paint polish. This has become a favorite drugstore style brand for me as of late. I think they make high-quality polish for an excellent price. I can't say Fresh Paint makes unique colors usually, but this next color stood out to me as somewhat different than other blues like it.

Charlotte
Charlotte is a muted aqua blue creme.

Collection: N/A

Color: This color really stood out to me because it had this dusty and muted quality. It reminds me of a vintage type color. I think this a pretty unique aqua shade because of that. I really like it.

Formula: Excellent easy to use formula that applied nicely. I used 2 coats.

Price: Fresh Paint polishes are 3 for $5 at Five Below.

Overall: I really like Charlotte. It's a nice dusty aqua creme that is little off the beaten path from Fresh Paint's usual standard shades. The formula on this was great and so was the price. I'm a Fresh Paint fan!

Fresh Paint Sandy Toes

One of the brands I've been frequenting since Five Below arrived near me is Fresh Paint. I really like this brand. I've reviewed a few over the past few months and I like all of them. I notice that Five Below does get new colors on occasion, but I don't think these actually come in collections? They're displayed in individual buckets at the store. This one caught my eye on my last visit.

Sandy Toes
Sandy Toes is a hot coral red creme.

Collection: N/A

Color: I love coral reds and orange-reds in summer. This color definitely fits that bill. This color is hot, vibrant, and pigmented. You can't go wrong with a color this on your tips or toes during summer.

Formula: This had an excellent and easy to apply formula. I used 2 coats.

Price: Fresh Paint polishes are buy 3 for $5, otherwise I think they're $2 each or something? It's best to find 3 you like and just pay $5!

Overall: I'm going to use my favorite word with nail polish lately..."solid". This is a definite solid staple coral red creme shade. The color is great, the formula is awesome, and the price you can't beat. I love finding great polishes in stores.

Fresh Paint Anchors Away

I know I've claimed that I'm almost done with mainstream polish because it's so stinky lately, I really don't want to let go. In recent months, I've really been trying to find mainstream or in-store polish that I can get excited about. The truth is, it's nearly impossible to find anything original these days, but that doesn't mean there isn't anything good. I went to Five Below recently and this color caught my eye. No, it's not original, but it's solid all around good color.

Anchors Away
Anchors Away is a true navy creme.

Collection: Unknown

Color: Navy isn't underrepresented in my nail polish collection, but there are many takes on navy. There are so dark it looks black navy and dusty/muted navy. Anchors Away is a true navy. It's a saturated clearly blue shade. There is no mistaking that this blue.

Formula: Solid good formula. I used 2 coats. It was easy to apply and I didn't have any challenges with it.

Price: I got this as part of 3 for $5 deal they have at Five Below. 3 nail polishes for $5 is a steal.

Overall: Anchors Away is a beautiful solid blue creme. I know you hear me saying "solid" a lot, but what I mean by that is it's basically a staple color that you can't go wrong with. The formula is great and the price is awesome. Fresh Paint polishes have impressed me since I tried the brand, and I'm still impressed.

Fresh Paint Sophia

One of the new additions to Orlando lately has been Five Below. My only wish is that we had it a bit sooner when in store nail polish was a bit cooler than it is now. I don't always find the most exciting nail polish at Five Below these days, but every once in awhile I come across a gem. I found this Fresh Paint gem recently in a shopping trip and it is well worth the purchase.

Sophia
Sophia is a bright red-toned grape purple creme.

Color: I tried messing with my camera settings and color on my photo program, but I couldn't really fix it. This is slightly more red-toned than it is showing up it is also more saturated. The camera washed out the color a bit. That being said, this color is hot and amazing! It's truly a bright purple creme unlike many I've seen.

Formula: The formula on this is alright. I used 3 coats above. It does have some unevenness on the first 2 coats, but it all evens out nicely by the 3rd coat.

Price: Fresh Paint polishes are 3 for $5 at Five Below. I've never bought them individually because 3 polishes for $5 is a steal.

Overall: This is a stunning and fun bright purple creme. I love the uniqueness of this color and it's perfect creme quality. I know many bright purples like this have weird jelly-like formulas or strange consistencies. This is a true creme. This is a great polish!

Fresh Paint Olivia

Orlando finally got a Five Below and I'm really excited. Honestly, I thought I'd just love the nail polish there, but I've found so many other great finds. I did come across a Fresh Paint color that caught my eye recently. You know why? Well, it's a neutral. I'm all about the neutrals this winter and this one is a winner.

Olivia
Olivia is a grey/taupe creme.

Color: I'm having a hard time describing this grey. I don't think it's a straight up pure grey, it does have hint of taupe to it. I love this color! If you asked me this 5  years ago I would of said I hated this color. Taupes were not my thing, but now. I love it! It's a great neutral shade.

Formula: Wow! This formula surprised me. It was PERFECT. I used 2 coats, but I could imagine if you used thick coats you could get away with one. It was smooth, buttery ,and so easy to apply.

Price: I got this at Five Below in a 3 for $5 deal. I believe they're $2 individually.

Overall: I love Olivia. The color is beautiful and formula is great. This fits perfectly in my little neutral winter color obsession I have going on. I approve!
