HPB Presents: Neutrals & Neons Mani

I have another Hobby Polish Bloggers blog link-up to share with you today. This month's theme was "Neutrals & Neons". I love pairing neutrals and neons during the warmer months, so I was definitely on board for this theme. I ended up using some new polishes from KBShimmer's summer collection too. I will have a full review on those next week!
Polishes Used: KBShimmer How Low Can You Flamingo?, KBShimmer One Night Sand, and Noodles Nail Polish Beach Baby.

I love these colors together. You can never go wrong with hot pink! I love Noodles Beach Baby because of the nude crelly base. It's the nude crelly I own and I wish there were more out there. KBShimmer's glitter shimmer bomb One Night Sand is my new favorite nail polish for the upcoming season. It's the perfect metallic nude. Again, those KBShimmer colors I'll have a review on next week!

HPB Presents: Spring Theme Manicure

I did a once in lifetime thing....er maybe twice in a lifetime. I did nail art. Well, at least my version of nail art with my very limited capabilities. I decided to do this for the Hobby Polish Bloggers blog spring link up. I had been seeing a lot of manis using highlighters lately and I figured that was something I could probably do, and I kinda did it! I figured this would be a fun spring manicure as the colors look pastel.

Products Used: KBShimmer Fillin' Groovy Base Coat, KBShimmer Alloy Matey!, Staples Hype! Liquid Highlighters 5pack (I just used pink, blue, and yellow), and KBShimmer Clearly on Top. I have heard liquid highlighters are the best to use for this type of mani.

Manicure Description: I used a base coat and then painted three coats of KBShimmer Alloy Matey! on my nails. I then let this dry for around 25 minutes. I didn't want to apply the highlighters on tacky polish because it could drag the polish. I then using blue, pink, and yellow highlights colored over my nails in a random pattern blending the colors together to give it this watercolor look. I waited a few minutes and then followed it up with top coat.

I'm pretty pleased with myself for this being my first time ever doing this and not being someone who ever does nail art! I don't do nail art not because I don't like it, but because I literally have zero patience. I love painting my nails and fun colors, but I like that because it's quick. Nail art is time consuming! This was a fun and simple technique though and I enjoyed trying it!

HPB Presents: A Holiday Manicure

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate out there! I hope you all are having a nice holiday. I have a holiday themed manicure for you today for our HPB monthly link-up post this month. One of my favorite polishes this holiday season has been Noodles Nail Polish Peppermint Twist, so I decided to do a mani based off of that polish.

Polishes Used: KBShimmer Chilly Pepper, Color Club Blue-Ming, China Glaze Break the Ice, and Noodles Nail Polish Peppermint Twist.

This is a pretty nontraditional color palette for me for the holidays. I love adding the mint in there with the Christmas red and white, it's a different fun twist. I love the contrast in colors with this mani and it stands out.

HPB Presents: Halloween Mani

Halloween! I used to not be a fan of Halloween. Can you believe it? I was as child of course. I mean candy. Come on! When I reached adulthood I could take or leave Halloween. I used to live in a neighborhood where no one decorated. I had no trick or treaters. There was no fun in that at all, so Halloween wasn't special to me.

I moved a little over 2 years ago and that changed. I'm all about finding any reason to decorate and thankfully I live in a neighborhood now who shares my view. It certainly helps that I live right next door to Disney World and have a bunch of Disney Cast Members as neighbors. They like the holiday spirit. Everyone is in the Halloween spirit here and I get tons of trick or treaters now! I love Halloween now. I decorate my house inside and out and I'm reader for trick or treaters tonight!

HPB's mani theme this month was Halloween naturally, so here is my Halloween inspired mani.

Polished Used: China Glaze Riveting, KBShimmer You Go Ghoul!, KBShimmer Eclipse, and China Glaze Rest in Pieces.

HPB Presents: Autumn Mani

It's time for another Hobby Polish Bloggers blog link-up. This month's theme was fall/autumn manicures. I had a difficult time coming up with what to do this month. I had so many polishes that came to mind to use that I ended up using a bunch!

My only concern with my mani is does this look more like an autumn manicure or a Christmas one? I feel like I should of used some more orange or brown maybe? I still really love this though!

Polishes Used: Zoya Pepper (this is my favorite fall red!), OPI Bring on the Bling, Essie Summit of Style, Zoya Maria Luisa, and KBShimmer Leaf of Faith.

I did a bunch of layering in this mani. On my middle finger I have OPI Bring on the Bring topped with Essie Summit of Style and on my ring finger I have Zoya Pepper topped with KBShimmer Leaf of Faith then topped with Zoya Maria Luisa.

HPB Presents: August Neon Mani

It's time for another Hobby Polish Bloggers blog link-up. The theme for August was neon. I'm thankful, I can do neon, doesn't require me to figure out nail art! I had fun time picking out colors for this mani. It also made me realize I'm low on neons. Low, as in I maybe only have 15, which would be plenty for most people, but I feel like I need more. I know I'm insane. Here is what I came up with!

Polishes Used: Orly Hot Tropics, Color Club Warhol, LeChat Honeydew, and KBShimmer Sun & Games.

HPB Presents: May Flowers aka My Fail Mani

It's time for another Hobby Polish Bloggers link-up post. This month's theme was May Flowers. Oh joy. This theme really stumped me. I don't do nail art. I don't own a stamper. I don't own nail art supplies. I don't have any nail polish with flower shaped glitter. The past themes I could do some layering or other non overly artsy technique and get away with it. This month's theme was tricky. May flowers is pretty literal.

My first thought was I can get some of those Sally Hansen Salon Nail Polish Strips and create a fun mani using that as an accent nail. I know they had ones with floral designs. I scoured drugstores, Walmart, and Target, and didn't find a single one with a floral design. I know they have them online, but I guess they're not in stores now. I had to resort to using some really shoddy nail stickers. I suck at nail stickers. This mani sucks. May Flowers wasn't my month, but I tried!

Here was my pitiful result.

Polishes Used: Black Cat Lacquer Demeter, Lumina Lacquer Soleil, and Kiss Nail Art stickers.

This is why I should never do nail art, stamping, water decals, or anything of the sort. I have absolutely zero patience to let things dry. I ain't got time for that. I thought my polish was dry when I applied the stickers, but nope. The stickers also never laid flat, so fail there too. This is just a big giant mani fail of the century for me. No more floral themes please! I do like my color scheme though.....

Check out the more beautiful manis from my HPB friends below. They did a spectacular job, unlike myself!

HPB Presents: April Showers Manicure Link-Up

It's time for another monthly Hobby Polish Bloggers link-up post. This month's theme was "April Showers".

"Drip, drip, drop, little April showers....."

Since I'm pretty much incompetent when it comes to nail art I decided to do a little abstract interpretation of the theme.

I did a glitter gradient using Essie Bikini So Teeny as a base and Essie Stroke of Brilliance as the glitter. I then topped it off with Essie Shine of the Times for a little rainbow effect. My thinking was that the glitter represented the "showers" and the flakies where the rainbow after the rain. That works in my head! I had fun with this theme and I really love my result!

For your entertainment...

HPB Presents: Valentine's Mani

It's time for another Hobby Polish Bloggers blog link-up! The theme for February is of course Valentine's manis. This is one I'm wearing for this Valentine's Day! I used a ton of different polishes for this mani even though it looks somewhat straight forward!

Polishes Used: KBShimmer Eclipse, Shimmer Polish Cindy, Milani Pink Hottie, Revlon Tahitian Coast, and Love My Nails Crazy For You.

I know that's a mouthful! I really like this mani. I even did some glitter placement. I NEVER do stuff like that. Go me!

Enjoy my fellow HPB friends manis from their blogs below!

HPB Oct. Halloween Mani Link-Up

I have a new monthly feature on my blog brought to buy the Hobby Polish Bloggers. Hobby Polish Bloggers is a group I manage on Facebook, for non-professional and "just for fun" nail bloggers. Our group exists as a place for feedback, support, and to get to know fellow bloggers.

We recently decided we will have a monthly feature on our blogs. We will switch between a themed mani and a group question pertaining to nails/blogging month to month. This month is a themed mani, being October why not a Halloween mani! I have mine below. Check out the other bloggers linked below with their Halloween manis too.

Manicure Description: I did a double accent mani. I used Milani Purple Gleam for my thumb, index, and pink finger. I then used Cult Nails Nevermore topped with China Glaze Rest in Pieces on my middle and ring finger.
