Sinful Colors Agaci

I don't know what an Acagi is? Do you? I do know that it is an awesome glitter from Sinful Colors, that you can unfortunately as far as I know only find on Cherry Culture. That being said, I love it! It's definitely a unique glittery top coat.

Agaci over Milani Day Dreaming

Agaci over WnW Black Cream

Agaci is a sheer gray base with a silver-gray iridescent glitter.

This color would be a tad bit more awesome if it was a gray jelly with this glitter, but sadly it's not. That's not to say it's not great. To me this is unique. This is my favorite kind of layering polish. It adds that subtle bit of bling that makes a polish extra special without going overboard. I think this one would look great over any color. :)

Happy Thursday!

Savvy Magic Pumpkin

Hey everyone! Today is the last full day with my parents. They're leaving tomorrow afternoon :(. I always enjoy their visits. It always feels like I'm on vacation when they're here. We go out to each every meal, do shopping, and do fun activities. It's nice. I live in tourist town, but I don't do the touristy things unless they're here so this has been a nice break from school and life.

Anywho! This is Savvy Magic Pumpkin. This was part of the Femme Couture collection, and this color came with a handful of other sparkly top coats at Sally Beauty.

Magic Pumpkin

This is definitely a color for layering. This is a sheer orange base with iridescent glitter that flashes gold and green. Here I have layered if over NYC Times Square Tangerine (index & ring finger) & WnW Black Creme (middle & pink finger). I love both of these looks. Magic Pumpkin on the NYC orange polish gives it a pretty more feminine sparkly color, while on the black gives it this vampy green shimmery color. I love it over black. I think this would look great for Halloween.

That's it for today. I have done some hauling this weekend, so expect to see some haul photos Monday or Tuesday. I got quite a few LA Splash glitter colors I'm very excited about!

Happy Sunday!

Ever feel stuck in a nail polish rut?

I know I must sound insane. I have over 300 bottles of polishes and the idea of me getting bored with the collection I have sounds ridiculous. Well, it is ridiculous, but it happens. I must say lately when I want to paint my nails I get stuck. I have no idea what to choose from, what color family I want to wear, and various other things. Then I remembered the beauty of layering polishes.

I think I may lost it a bit, but my very first real post on this blog was about layering after that i just kind of forgot about it. Layering polishes was something I did regularly. I guess I got caught up doing swatches of various colors that it slipped my mind. I must say layering has taken me out of my nail polish rut. There are endless combinations with layering. You can create subtle effects or completely change the look of nail polish color through layering. The sky is the limit!

Here was my most recent manicure using Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure (I hope you're not tired of this one!) over Orly La Playa. Please excuse my little boo boo on my index finger. I had a hangnail :(.
 Indoors
Outdoors
Dear Sally Hansen thank you so much for this beautiful Hidden Treasure! I can't say that enough. What a great unique polish that I am so happy to have. This thing looks amazing on anything, but it was my first time trying it over a dark color. It really pops and looks great! Orly La Playa is an gorgeous dark blue creme too. It's a lovely combo!

Now as for layering I have tons of favorites layering shimmers and glitter polishes! I'm going to share with you some of my favorites. Since this is so many I figured I'd share you with the bottle pics, but please if you'd like to see some of these swatched leave your request in the comments! Let know what color you want to see and what color polish you'd like to see it over. You don't have to say a specific polish color to layer it over just say a pink, black, teal, light blue, and etc. I think you get the idea. :)

Confetti Review: Part Two

A few weeks ago I reviewed the new nail polish brand at CVS called Confetti. I didn't give them the best review. I thought they had some good points and some bad. I was reading other peoples reviews and many people had great things to say about them so I decided I'd give them another go.

Here are the ones I bought. I'm also adding closeup swatches of these colors. I think I'm going to be doing this from now on with all my polishes. Please let me know if you don't like this!

Last Dance
Last Dance is pink color I wish I could describe. I'd almost say it's pinker version of a terra cotta creme. I'd actually consider a neutral color. It's not overly bright or muted. I like the color. I picked it out because it seems very work/professional friendly. This was the only I bought this time I had issues with. The formula was a bit goopy and runny. :(

Dressed to the 9's
Dressed to the 9's is a brick red with gold shimmer throughout. This is a great color this a color I've been looking for a long time, but no other color I picked up seemed to work out as well as this. I love reds with gold in them. It has to be one of my favorite combinations.

Just Dancin

Just Dancin is a wine colored shimmer with little hints of blue and red mixed in. Meh...

Smitten
Let me just say I am smitten with Smitten. This is a winner polish! It is a gorgeous deep sapphire blue with flecks of red, blue, violet, and silver micro glitter. You cannot go wrong at $2 with a polish that is this beautifully unique!

Ice Ice Baby
I'm showing this one a little different because this is definitely a layering polish. It's a clear base with blue/green iridescent glitter. From L-R it's on top of NYC Fuchsia Shock, Milani Fresh Tea, Color Club Chelsea Girl, China Glaze Spontaneous, Sally Hansen White Tip, & NYC Black Lace. It is probably better to enlarge this one. It's a pretty layering glitter. I like glitter ones like this because it makes me think of sugar coated sweets that have the crystal sparkle quality to them!

I'd have to say with these polishes I got my opinion of Confetti hasn't really changed. I did have to look at the brushes first before I purchased them and I definitely did see some more wonky brushes. The formulas on all these with the exception of Last Dance were alright. The color Smitten was real winner and I'm sure there are few others too. However, I still think their selection is pretty lacking. I'd have to say with majority of their polishes I already have color similar or a dupe of them. I think Sinful Colors is better with their selection and quality, but it's nice to have CVS brand polish at the same price point as Sinful Colors. I think it's all matter of taste and what colors and brushes you're getting!

Anyone else get some Confetti polishes since my last post? What is your opinion on them?

Happy Tuesday!

Claire's Diva & Icing Roger That

Today I found this smaller beauty supply store in the mall closest to me. They sold OPI & Essie polishes so I grabbed OPI Funky Dunkey. I've been into the blue and purples cremes lately so that fulfilled a lemming! They also had a small salon in there, that offered eyebrow threading which I haven't been able to find near me! I can't wax my brows because I have such sensitive skin I get really bad reactions including one time my eye swelled up the size of golf ball! Anyways, I got my brows done and Funky Dunkey in one trip! I've lived here 3 years and never stopped in there until now. I'll definitely being going back for polishes and brow touch ups!

Today I'm going to show you Claire's Diva and Icing Roger That. I like Claire's and Icing polishes they don't have the widest selection but they do have some unique colors and usually have BOGO sales on cosmetics so it works out well.

Claire's Diva

I know this looks weird. What I did is on my index and ring finger I did the polish over black and one my middle and pinky finger I did it on its on. It's a med-purple micro glitter in a clear base. I think it looks great either way, but over the black it really add a lot of depth!

Icing Roger That

At first I thought this was a dupe to ChG Watermelon Rind, but it's definitely not. I'd say Roger That is Watermelon Rind's lighter and brighter cousin. It is a turquoise jelly base with silver glass fleck. It's a beautiful polish, that has actually been in my untrieds for over a year. Shame on me! I will definitely be sporting this beauty more.

That's it for today. I am hitting the pool today. It is so hot out here I just want to swim. I'm so excited. I used to swim all the time as a kid, but as I hit my teens I never wanted to swim anymore because I was so self conscious about how I looked in a swimsuit. I'm sure we've all been there. It sucks, because I loved swimming so much. Now at 23, I don't give a rat's behind so I'm going to enjoy it!

Have a great day!

My Favorite Layering Polishes

As an off shoot of my last post I wanted to show you all my favorite layering polishes. Before that though I'd like to make note that when typing out the title of my blog I put in in "My Favorite Laying Polishes" not layering. That's a good idea for a post, but I don't think we'll be doing that today. :P

I decided to swatch these on nail wheel because I wanted to show you how they look on 2 different color polishes. I'll be layering these over Essie's Mod Squad (a standard bubble gum pink creme) and N.Y.C. Black Lace Creme.

To enlarge any picture just click on it. :)

Here are the layering polishes I'll be using..
L-R: Cover Girl- City Lights, Sally Hansen- In the Spotlight, Cover Girl-Crystal Mist, Milani-Disco Lights, Pure Ice- Spit Fire, Tropez-Sassy, Sinful Colors- Frenzy, Pure Ice- Busted, & Pure Ice- Heartbreaker

and here is how they look on these polishes..

As I kind of touched on in my last post these are great options for adding some depth and life to some plain colors or even great colors you just want to spice up a bit. There are endless combinations too, so if you ever need to hold off on purchasing polishes for awhile you have many different options for creating your own custom colors. All of these polishes cost under $10 and most all you can find either at Walmart, Target, and various drug stores.

On that note I will bid you adieu!

Preview for next time I got these BBCouture pretties in the mail today. Swatches & Reviews tomorrow
L-R:
Napa Valley Red, Hermosa Surfer Girl, Horned Devil
