KBShimmer Polish Con NYC Exclusives

* I received the following products in exchange for my honest review.

Today, I have the two KBShimmer Polish Exclusives to share with you. Polish Con NYC is next Saturday, April 29th. The only way you can get your hands on these polishes is if you attend Polish Con! If you're not going and want these see if you can find someone who is going who will purchase these for you!

Grand Prospect Holo
Grand Prospect Holo is a truly unique multichrome that we blended with several different pigments to shift from a teal green, to aqua blue, to purple and sometimes even navy.  This spectrum of color is accented by a scattering of holo glitters, similar to our mega flame finish. (3 coats)

We Make Your Dreams Come Blue
We Make Your Dreams Come Blue is an icy blue jelly polish.  We loaded the jelly base with holographic micro flakes and shimmer.  These flakes glow in the light, while turquoise shimmer pops through the flakes for a glowy aqua polish, in other lights, you can almost catch a periwinkle or sky blue color.

Collection: KBShimmer Polish Con NYC 2017 Exclusives

Colors: As you can see from the color descriptions these are very complex colors. There isn't anything plain jane about these two. I love the mulitchrome shift in Grand Prospect Holo and all of those holo sparkly bits really give it a great multi-faceted look. We Make Your Dreams Come blue is a gorgeous lit from within in blue and it glows on the nail.

Formula: These all had a nice formula. I think the glitter bits in both of these keep it from being a perfect formula as they're not the most smooth polishes to apply. That being said, I didn't find them unmanageable. I used 2 coats for We Make Your Dreams Come Blue and 3 coats for Grand Prospect Holo.

Overall: I think these are some unique and multi-layered polishes. I love the colors for each one and the shimmer and multi-chrome effects. They're definitely some of the most embellished polishes I own. The formulas are good, but they're not the best formulas. I think considering what type of colors you're getting it's not really a drawback. I hope if you're going to Polish Con NYC you can get your hands on these!

My Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

Serum No. 5 Power Reflective Top Coat

*I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

Yes, I'm still working through Cosmoprof polishes! This one is by Serum No. 5. This is my first polish from them, but I'm very familiar with the brand as I've been oogling over their polishes for a long time. This polish is definite oogle worthy!

Power (over Color Club Take A Hike)
Power is a clear blase filled with a rainbow of multichrome micro flakies.

Color: Wow! This is perfection. I love the rainbow of color-shifting flakies in Power. This shiny, sparkly, and color-shifty (hehe)! This is stunning. I don't have much else to say about that.

Formula: Top notch. I love the size of these flakies. They're teeny which gives you excellent coverage. I used one coat above and this was a breeze apply. You can see the great coverage I got in only one coat.

Price: This is $14.50 on Serum No. 5's website.

Overall: Power is a beautiful flakie topper. I love the rainbow of colors and the multichrome effect. The formula is spectacular and it's just an all around winning polish!

HARE Polish Rosa Meditativa

I have a new HARE Polish to share with you today. This is from the A Surreal New Year collection inspired by Salvador Dali. This is one of the most interesting polishes I now own. Interesting, in a very good way that is!

Rosa Meditativa
Rosa Meditativa is dusty mauve jelly with multi-color ultra chrome flakies.

Collection: A Surreal New Year 2015

Color: This is 100% original and stunning color! The base color is beautiful and those mult-colored ulta chrome flakies? Need I say more? This polish is so cool, creative, and different!

Formula: I found this formula easy to use and apply. I used 3 coats above.

Price: I paid $10 for this on the HARE Polish etsy site. I hope this one will be restocked soon.

Overall: These are the types of polishes I really do not have much to say with. I mean all you have to do is look at it to see its greatness. I love Rose Meditativa. This is a definite standout for me so far this year. I think we have a Top 2015 contender already!

Urban Camo over Cult Nails Nevermore
Urban Camo is a bright green based multi-chrome. The color shifts you see are green, silver, pink, and purple. *Note: The color shifting power of this one caused my camera to freak out! I tried to capture it the best my camera would allow. (2 coats over base)

Maybe Navy over Cult Nails Time Traveler
Maybe Navy is a rich navy shimmer with a slight duochrome effect, in certain lighting you can see hints of purple and pink. (2 coats over base)

Colors: Excellent color line up with this collection. This isn't even half of the collection! There is a great mix of traditional holiday colors and then there are unique color mixes with a holiday twist! There is something here for everyone. There are glitter toppers, jelly glitters, crelly glitters, multi-chromes, shimmers, and a matte. Everything is covered here!

Formula: The formula on all of these was great. The glitter polishes are jam packed. You will not have any trouble with coverage with any of these. The snowflakes in Snow Much Fun require a bit of effort to get out, but nothing overly troublesome.

Price: These are $8.75 each on KBShimmer's website. Fear not, you will not see any of these out of stock! That is one of the things I love about KBShimmer!

Overall: This is a great holiday collection. There is something for everyone. The colors are innovative, fun, and thoughtfully made. I wouldn't expect any less from KBShimmer. KBShimmer continues to impress me. If you had me choose favorites from this set, I'd go with Sand In My Stocking, Snow Much Fun, I'd Rather Be Blue, and Kringle All The Way. Stay tuned though, I'll have more from this collection through out the next few weeks! Be on the look out!

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

My Trekkie Nails

I'm alive everyone. I'm sorry I have been MIA. This month is not very easy for me. I have a lot going on with school and personal things at the moment. I'm OK, a lot of this is just anxiety/depression related stuff that gets intensified when I have a lot of stress in my life. No worries, just if I go a few days without posting this month that is why. Needless to say, I'm ready for October to be over with, and it's only the 9th!

Anyways, this past weekend I attended my first Star Trek convention. It was small I believe in comparison to to others, but it was a cool experience. I had planned on doing some nail art, but my lack of skills wore on my quickly, and I chose to do something more simple.

I started out with a base on all of my nails with Cult Nails I Got Distracted. I followed that up with doing the saran wrap technique over all my fingers except my accent nail using Orly Space Cadet. I only wish the mutil-chromeness of this showed up in this picture it looked cool!

On my accent nail I topped it off with Icing Frost Yourself (a mixture of holographic silver glitter), followed by another coat of Cult Nails I Got Distracted. I wanted to add some extra sparkle in there and this did the trick!

I really loved these nails despite my lack of nail art ability. I know I could of done some really creative things with Trek, alas, my patience was not there.

The convention was cool. I had never been to one before, and while I'm a Trek fan, there are CLEARLY bigger fans out there. I could not compete with some of these fans. I felt a little inferior actually. That being said, it was still a lot of fun. We got to sit in on a panel discussion on Doctor Who, and a discussion on sci-fi books on alternate histories/universes which was really interesting.

We also go to go to Q & A presentation with Avery Brooks. I adore him, he played Captain Benjamin Sisko in the Star Trek Series Deep Space Nine. That is my favorite Trek series. I just love the character development and intense story lines. He is really a fascinating and profound man, and it was interesting to hear his perspective of people and our lives outside of just Trek things.

I couldn't go home with out some goodies of course!

I got these cool Yoshi and Star Trek communicator things made out of perler beads made by Silly Rabbit Crafts.

So that's it!

Happy Tuesday!

Hits Phenomena: Air Glow

I mentioned in one of my previous posts that I avoided the Brazilian polishes for awhile. The reason was I loved them all so much I knew one would not suffice. I decided I'd wait around until my birthday and do a little haul of them. This is one of them I picked up last month. It's one of the Hits Phenomena polishes, and it's pretty spectacular.

Air Glow over Milani Black Swift

Air Glow is a multichromatic glitter that flashes pink, orange, copper and gold.

This is a stunner people. I've seen some multichrome and duochrome polishes out there that you really cannot see there effect unless you are in certain lightning. This is not the case for Air Glow. This pretty shows all of its colors in any lighting. It is beautiful. This polish is definitely meant to be layered. I really would recommend you layer it over dark colors, it will bring out the depth of all the colors the best.

I got this one on Ninja Polish

Happy Thursday!
