Piggy Polish Vincent's Stars

On my trip to California this past June, I took advantage of stopping at as many Rite Aids as I could. As many of you know Florida is deprived of Rite Aid. While I was at one I saw a Piggy Polish display with a pretty blue polish that caught my eye. This pretty blue polish also happened to be holo, so in the cart it went!

Vincent's Stars
Vincent's Stars a denim subtle scattered holographic.

Color: I adore this shade of blue. This a medium denim blue jean blue. This is a very subtle holo. I am not a holo snob, and I actually like subtle holos. I love the pigmentation of the base color, and how it's accented with the holo.

Formula: Excellent formula. I needed only 2 coats.

Price: I paid around $7-$8 for this at Rite Aid. I have no idea if this still available in stores. Piggy Polish isn't really a brand you can find on the web either. I have done a search and seen some results in blog sales and on eBay.

Overall: I love Vincent's Stars. I love the pigmented denim base, and equally love the subtle holo effect. If you're a holo fan, you may be disappointed this doesn't pack a holo punch. Personally, I love it just the way it is!

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters
Happy Friday!

Piggy Polish Lightmare

Happy Halloween everyone! I am totally lame, and I don't really get into Halloween. I don't dislike Halloween, nor do I have anything against it. I think I'm just neutral to it. I enjoyed it more as a kid. Remember the lady, Goldie, I mentioned who had amazing 4th of July parties when I was a kid? Well, Goldie had amazing Halloween parties too. She decked her house out for Halloween like no other. She had amazing candy and toys for all the kids. She played Hocus Pocus on her big screen TV. She still has Halloween parties, but I no longer live in Dallas, so I miss out. My parents still go to her Halloween parties. I am extremely jealous, therefore, without Goldie's amazing parties, Halloween is just not worth it anymore.

Anyways, I do still celebrate Halloween on my nails! This is Halloween polish by Piggy Polish.

Piggy Polish Lightmare over Milani Black Swift

Lightmare is a dense mixture of charcoal gray micro glitter and small-medium orange hex glitters.

This a glitter bomb, and it's super sparkly. It was so sparkly, my camera had a difficult time capturing it. You could actually wear this on it's own in 2-3 coats, but I think the black base gives it a bit of an extra oomph.

Now that we got the good part out of the way..let's move on the the bad. The formula on this is frightening. It is a nightmare. The formula on this has the consistency of molasses. It is ridiculously thick. The brush on this polish expands twice its size when its dipped into the polish because it is just so dang thick. I added thinner to it, and it still was insanely thick. It also dries matte and gritty. It needs top coat. I really like this color though. It's unlike any other Halloween polish I've seen, but I'm glad it's Halloween-themed so I don't feel guilty about not using it often!

Happy Halloween!

Piggy Polish Ivy Leaf in Santa Claus

I know...Santa Claus in May? I picked polish up in someone's swap box at our blogger meetup back in March. You know what? What is the deal with Piggy Polish? They do not seem to have any presence in the blog-o-sphere whatsoever. Do they even have anyone running their PR? I never owned a Piggy Polish, and I think it's because of this reason. They seem so non-existent. The funny thing is I absolutely adore this polish, and the formula is superb. They really need the exposure, because I think they deserve it based on my first experience with them.

Ivy Leaf in Santa Claus

Ivy Leaf in Santa Claus is a deep pine green creme.

This polish was a dream to apply. I love the rich green color. I'm really impressed!  It put Piggy Polish on my radar. I'm definitely going to be looking at their polishes more rather than bypassing them completely. I'm not really one to approach companies, but I'm interested in trying to get in contact with them to see if I could possibly get them a little more exposure in the blog-o-sphere. Have any bloggers reached out to Piggy Polish before? Am I missing something?

Happy  Thursday!
