China Glaze Wait n' Sea

Wait n' Sea is a bright teal creme.

Collection: China Glaze Off Shore Summer 2014

Color: This a pretty teal creme. I love the brightness and freshness of this color. It's nice, but it's not the most original color either.

Formula: The formula on this was strange. This had a really loose and runny formula. It pooled up in my cuticles and I found it a bit messy. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't a formula I really liked working with.

Price: I purchased this on Head2ToeBeauty for $3.25.

Overall: This is nice color, but it's really not something special or unique especially when it has a runny formula to boot. It's just not entirely worth it to me. The name is cute, but everything else falls a bit flat.

KBShimmer Nauti by Nature Spring 2017 (6 of 12)

* I received the following products in exchange for my honest review.

I have a few of the colors from the new KBShimmer Nauti by Nature collection for Spring 2017. This collection is truly topical. It was inspired by Christy's trips to the Bahamas. These colors are bold and vibrant. I appreciate that in a spring collection because I've been over the typical spring pastels ages ago. Spring can be bold too! This collection has KBShimmer's perfect mix of holos, shimmers, glitters. This collection along with a new Caribbeans inspired seasonal mani shot called Knotty Girl will be released this Saturday, March 18th on the KBShimmer website.

Latitude Adjustment
Latitude Adjustment is a periwinkle holographic. (2 coats)

Show Me The Mahi
Show Me The Mahi is a deep aqua blue jelly polish is loaded with scale inspired holo glitters in lime and teal, and color shifting iridescent glitters that morph from golden greens to vibrant red orange colors. (3 coats)

Tropic Like It's Hot
Tropic Like It's Hot is a turquoise blue water holographic. (2 coats)

Macaw Me Maybe
Macaw Me Maybe is a scarlet red holographic. (2 coats)

Saved By The Shell
Saved By The Shell is a soft, sandy peach color is accented by a coppery pink shimmer. (2 coats)

The Girl Is Tiki
The Girl Is Tiki is a rusty coral holographic. (2 coats)

Collection: KBShimmer Nauti By Nature Spring 2017

Colors: I love these vibrant colors. All of these colors are rich and saturated. I really enjoy this take on a spring collection and it's a nice change to have a pop a color. The holographics in this collection are so bright and crisp. You cannot go wrong with holo and this is the most holos in a collection I remember seeing from KBShimmer. I like!

Formula: Most all of these colors had smooth and easy to use formulas. They applied opaques and cleanly in 2 coats. The only trickier one was Show Me The Mahi being it is a jelly glitter. It is thicker but manageable. I recommend waiting a few minutes between each coat so you don't drag the polish from previous coats.

Price: These will be $9.25 on the KBShimmer website and will be available for purchase on Saturday 3/18. Be sure to check out the other colors on there I didn't review!

Overall: I really enjoyed this collection. I love the theming and the use of holo. It's punchy and tropical collection that really catches my eye for this season. I'm thankful for the bright and fun take on a spring collection, not the expected pastels. My favorites from this lot are Latitude Adjustment and This Girl is Tiki. The latter is definitely a unique color to me!

Native War Paints My Favorite Sweater and Jeans

* I received the following polish in exchange for my honest review.

I have a Native War Paints polish to share with you today I received at Cosmoprof last summer. Yes, I still have some Cosmoprof polishes laying around to review. I love Native War Paints because I think they're definitely the queen of shimmers when it comes to indies. They really know how to make great shimmers and I don't see shimmers often in the indie world. This one is from their past fall collection

My Favorite Sweater and Jeans
My Favorite Sweater and Jeans is teal with blue shimmer.

Collection: Denim Fall 2016

Color: I can't say I'm a big fan of this color. It's not a bad color it's just not doing much for me. I prefer a more contrasting shimmer and the shimmer in this is really close to the base color. I also find this shimmer to go a bit frosty as you can see the brush strokes on my nails. The blue shimmer isn't really working for me.

Formula: This had a nice and easy to use 3 coat formula.

Price: This is $9.00 on the Native War Paints website

Overall: I think this is a nice color. There isn't anything wrong with it, it's just not my cup of tea. The shimmer is too pronounced and I don't think I really like blue shimmer. It's just not adding much to the polish as far as depth and interest. The shimmer is more distracting in this color. This just isn't for me color wise, all other aspects of it are good.

Colors by Llarowe Vegas 2016

*I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

I have a Colors by Llarowe polish to share with you today. I received this polish at Comsoprof this past summer, but I believe it actually was sold for a limited time back in September. I don't think it's available any longer, unfortunately, but I do hope you got your hands on it because it's a stunner.

Vegas 2016
Vegas 2016 is a blue leaning teal linear holo with silver and touches of gold shimmer.

Collection: CPNA 2016 & September Limited Edition

Color: Wowza! This is a vibrant and strong holo. CbL has some of my favorite and strongest holos. This color is beautiful. I do love teal shades that veer just a hint toward the blue side more than green and this is what Vegas 2016 does. It's a rich and pigmented shade and the holo is perfection.

Formula: Excellent and easy to use formula. I used 2 coats above.

Price: N/A

Overall: I always find CbL polishes are more stunning on the nail than in the bottle. That's not to say they're not amazing in the bottle, but it's usually the other way around! This is a gorgeous and rich color. The holo effect is insane and it's all in all an amazing polish!

O-My Jewels Sea Fan

* I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

I have a new to me indie brand to share with you today called O-My Jewels. Sophia the owner kindly asked if I was interested in trying out some of her polishes and I gladly accepted. I told her some of my color preferences and this is one of the colors she sent me to review. I must say, she figured me out pretty quickly because this color is definitely up my alley!

Sea Fan
Sea Fan is a muted and dusty teal with  scattered micro golden holo glitter.

Collection: O-My Jewels Beachy Collection 2016

Color: I love dusty colors like this and especially blue and green ones. This is a beautiful and flattering color and I absolutely love the addition of the golden holo. You know me. I love cool toned colors with gold.

Formula: This had an excellent and smooth formula. I used 2 coats above.

Price: This is $7.25 on O-My Jewels website. This is a great price for an indie polish!

Overall: I really enjoy Sea Fan. It's a beautiful color and I love the soft holo sparkle. This is a fairly simple color, but I really like that about it. It's not an over the top holo or a loud glitter. It's muted and has its own subtle touch of bling. I don't see a lot of colors like these being made anymore and I miss them. Not everything has to be in your face to be lovely and appreciated by me!

Different Dimension Yeti Goes Stargazing

Have a told you how much I love indie grab bags? I know, I know, I've told you countless times. I was recently gifted another Different Dimension one in a recent gift exchange and this was one of the stunners in the grab bag. This polish was made as a part of charity auction last year.

Yeti Goes Stargazing
Yeti Goes Stargazing is a rich blue-teal base with scattered holo and shredded glitter mixed in.

Collection: N/A

Color: This is one of the most richly pigmented holographic polishes I've come across. It is absolutely stunning. I love the richness and saturation of this blue-teal color. I love jewel-tones and they make amazing bases for holographic colors.

Formula: Excellent formula I used 2 coats here. It applied easily and smoothly.

Price: N/A. The only way I assume you can snag this one now is through luck with a grab bag like I did.

Overall: Different Dimension really knows how to make holographic polishes. They're definitely on my very short list of indies who make my favorite holos. They always have some special touch added either through glitter or flakies that keep them from just being ordinary holos. The color itself in this is gorgeous, but the other added holo bits and bobs gives this polish depth and pizazz.

Throwbacks Week: Wet n' Wild Cost Is No Issue

Before the indie movement, it was very difficult to find awesome glitter nail polish. It was easy to find glitter toppers, but opaque glitters were rare. If someone released opaque glitters you immediately went on the nail polish hunt to find them. One of these collections was Wet n' Wild's Ice Baby collection. I have one of the polishes from that collection to share with you today.

Cost Is No Issue
Cost Is No Issue is a fine teal glitter with larger blue glitters in a clear base.

Collection: Wet n' Wild Ice Baby Holiday 2011

Color: I don't think you can ever go wrong with teal and this a gorgeous blingy one. I love the addition of the larger blue sparse glitters in here as it gives this color some dimension. This color is super blingy and I love it.

Formula: Excellent formula even after 5 years! I used 3 coats above and the formula is smooth, easy to apply, and just the right consistency. The best part is that it is full coverage.

Price: I have seen a listing for this on Amazon, so it may still be out there in some capacity online.

Overall: This was a great collection and I love this color. I love the opacity of the glitter and and the bling factor. Not much else I can add to that!

Cupcake Polish Imagine

I have another one of the fantastical polishes from Cupcake Polish's Unicorn Collection. This collection is made up of beautiful jelly holo micro-glitters. I'm a suck for glitter so of course I fell in love with these. I love indies doing one-tone glitters these days. There are so many different muti-colored glitters out there, but I when doing manis I may only use those as accent nails. Solid tone glitters I love as full manis.

Imagine
Imagine is a pastel teal jelly with silver holo microglitter.

Collection: Cupcake Polish Unicorn Collection Winter 2016

Color: You can never go wrong with a great teal in my book and this one is great. I love this shade of blue-green and that holo glitter makes this polish magical. This is sparkle city!

Formula: This had a great formula. It applied beautifully and easily. I used 2 coats above.

Price: This is $13.00 on Cupcake Polish's site.

Overall: This is a winning polish. I love the color and the holo glitter. The polishes in this collection including Imagine fit perfectly in a Unicorn themed collection. These colors are magical!

KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection- Glitters/Shimmer/Holo (6 of 8)

*I received the following in exchange for my honest review.

I have the continuation of the KBShimmer Fall 2015 collection for you today. The next part I have the glitters, shimmers, and holos. I only have 6 of the 8 polishes that fit into this category, but many other bloggers have the other two in their review.

Fig-Get About It
Fig-Get About It is a darkened fig burgundy linear holo.

I Feel Gourd-geous
I Feel Gourd-geous is a pale coppery-champagne holographic micro glitter.

Carpe Denim
Carpe Denim is a dark denim navy jelly filled with silver holographic glitter.

Talk Qwerty To Me
Talk Qwerty To Me is a shimmering teal with hints of blue and gold micro flakes.

Dark & Twisty
Dark & Twisty is a black jelly with metallic rainbow glitters.

Open Toad Shoes
Open Toad Shoes is a soft olive green jelly with chartreuse, burgundy, and navy glitters and a subtle holo shimmer.

Collection: KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection

Colors: I am all about the bling and the glitz and these polishes nail it (pun intended). Again, like I always say with KBShimmer there is something here for everyone. These are awesome and thoughtfully made colors. KBShimmer knows how to do color combos and Open Toad Shoes is an awesome example. I never would of thought of that color combo, but it's awesome! Dark & Twisty is the type of polish I've been waiting for--a black jelly with rainbow glitter! Fig-Get About It is a surprise favorite for me in the bunch since I normally don't gravitate toward purple shades like that. These are all amazing colors.

Formula: These all had great formulas. I did not have application issues with any of these. I thought they all were smooth and easy to apply. I used 3 coats on all of these swatches.

Price: These all are $8.75 and will be available for purchase on Tuesday 9/15 on the KBShimmer site.

Overall: These polishes rock my world. They're inventive, beautifully made, and I wouldn't expect anything less from KBShimmer. I got to preview these back in Cosmoprof in July and I knew this collection would be a hit. I think Open Toad Shoes has to be one of the coolest polishes out in this season I've seen so far. If you had me pick my favorites I'd have to go with Open Toad Shoes, Fig-Get About It, and Dark & Twisty.

KBShimmer Fall 2015 Collection- Cremes

*I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

Today and tomorrow I have for you the KBShimmer Fall 2015 collection! I decided to split these because I have quite a few to share with you. I have the cremes in this collection share with you today. This collection releases Tuesday 9/15 on the KBShimmer website.

Soul Deep
Soul Deep is a blackened blurple creme.

Such A Vlad-Ass
Such A Vlad-Ass is a rich red-berry creme.

Teal It To My Heart
Teal It To My Heart is a slightly muted teal creme.

Breaking Blues
Breakings Blue is a darkened periwinkle creme.

Collection: KBShimmer Fall 2015

Colors: This collection provides a nice variety of creme shades. The colors are all richly pigmented and saturated. I love Soul Deep and Such A Vlad-Ass because they're more traditional fall colors, but I also love the dusty Teal It To My Heart and the vibrant Breaking Blues. It's a great mix of colors!

Formula: These all had great formulas. I used 2 coats on each of the swatches above. These applied very smoothly and easily. I did notice Breaking Blues has a slightly thicker consistency than the other 3, but it didn't effect the application.

Price: These are $7.50 each and will be available for purchase Tuesday 9/15 on the KBShimmer website.

Overall: These are great cremes and great colors for fall! The formulas are all great and easy to work with. I don't have any complaints with any of these cremes!
