Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 12/11/16-12/18/16

It was another good wax week overall. I melted a lot of Ten Digit Creations this week because I know come January they're going to be having a massive sale and discontinuing a number of scents. I want to get some reviews in so some of those scents that will be going away can get some love before their final farewell! 

Ten Digit Creations Baby Powder

Scent Description:  smells just like the real thing 

My Thoughts: Yes, it does. I didn't think I'd be a baby powder smell person, but I really like this scent. It's that clean and soft freshly showered type smell. It's along the lines of a laundry-type scent, but more delicate. This was perfect to melt after cleaning the house.

Ten Digit Creations Peppermint Bark

Scent Description: white chocolate, cocoa sprinkles, crushed candy cane, peppermint leaf, vanilla bean, and rich chocolate ganache

My Thoughts: Yum, this scent is amazing!  It's a great balanced blend of peppermint, chocolate, and vanilla. I'm not a candy scent person, but I do love peppermint ones. This smells a lot like a York Peppermint Patty. The throw was amazing on it too. My only complaint isn't with the scent itself, but with my boyfriend who didn't care for it so I couldn't melt it for long 😞.

Ten Digit Creations Smoky Poppy

Scent Description: captivating blend of sultry spices, elegant florals and earthy woody notes. Sexy and seductive 

My Thoughts: I believe this is a dupe to The Body Shop scent. This scent is hard to describe, the scent description really does it best. It's one of those elegant, rich, and perfume-like floral scents. It's not harsh or overpowering, just feminine and sexy. I really like this scent and this is how I prefer florals. The throw could be a smidge stronger for my tastes. This scent would be great in bath and body products.

Wilma's Exotic Teak

Scent Description: A complex and clean fragrance. Teak with hints of patchouli, sandalwood, and tobacco.

My Thoughts: This is one of those clean and high-end type scents if that makes sense. It has some great elements to it that make it sophisticated rather than just straight clean. I'm not the biggest fan of sandalwood or tobacco, but the way this is blended with patchouli I really like it. It's a nice balance without one particular note being too harsh. The throw could be stronger, though.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 11/20/16-11/27/16

It was another fairly good wax week! I'm trying to slowly ease myself into the holiday scents and that hasn't been too hard for me. The only bummer thing about wax lately is the Walmarts I've been to do not have their holiday wax out yet outside 1 or 2 scents. I'm hoping they'll get more.

Ten Digit Creations Ivory Clean

Scent Description: fresh and squeaky clean just like the soap

My Thoughts: This smells exactly like Ivory soap. It's a very hard scent to describe, but it's so nostalgic to me as it was the soap I remember having in the house when I was younger. It's a very clean soapy scent, but it has this distinct scent note to it I really can't describe. Go smell a bar of Ivory and you'll know what it smells like. I really enjoyed this scent and it had a nice throw.

Wilma Harvest 

Scent Description: A fabulous warm blend of cinnamon, clove and spices. A Yankee duplication.

My Thoughts: I have the Yankee one and was disappointed with it because the throw as light. I was hoping this would be stronger, but it wasn't much. It's an excellent scent on cold it's the perfect blend of Thanksgiving/Christmas cooking spices. It just isn't strong enough.

Ten Digit Creations Christmas Cabin

Scent Description: blend of bayberry, cranberry, cinnamon bark, and orange

My Thoughts: I adore this scent. This is an amazing Christmas scent. It really is the perfect blend of all those Christmas notes from greenery, fruit, and spices. You can detect the individual notes, but they come together for a perfect balance. This reminded me a lot of Yankee Candle's Home for the Holidays scent. They're very similar.

Yankee Candle Catching Rays

Scent Description: Sharp orange and golden amber bring that great beach feeling of being warmed all the way through by a perfect summer sun.

My Thoughts: Orange and amber are not what come to mind when I smell this scent. It's a beautiful scent, though. I get kind of a laundry, fresh, floral, water blend going on with Catching Rays. It's kind of like a seaside fancy resort type smell. I know that can be anything under the sun, but it's what I'd imagine my fresh towels to smell like at a resort such as that. It definitely dethrones Yankee's Ocean Star and is my new favorite Yankee scent! Unlike other Yankee tarts this one has a great throw!

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 10/30/16-11/13/16

I'm sorry I was MIA with my wax post last weekend. I had a busy weekend and was downright lazy because of it! I'm back on schedule now. I'm starting to teeter into holiday wax territory. Holiday scents are my favorite so I'm going to try my best not to overdo it! My most recent melts have been pretty good over the past 2 weeks though.

Wilma Black Cedar Juniper
Scent Description: Clean, crisp, and fresh! A seductive blend of rain drenched cedarwood and moss. A Jo Malone duplication.
My Thoughts: I don't know the Jo Malone scent so I can't compare, but I do like this scent. It's a definite masculine cologne scent, but it is very crisp and clean. I get a strong water note with some woodsy and green in the background.

Lake Providence Lodge The Lodge
Scent Description: Our signature scent of warm spices, pies baking and whole apples filled with cinnamon and sugar and baked in the oven. This is an ideal cinnamon scent.
Scent Throw: I was very curious how this would be different from LPL's The Cabin scent. I feel like The Cabin is more of a fall scent, it has a stronger apple presence whereas The Lodge is more of a Christmas scent because it's stronger on the cinnamon. It just smells more festive. I enjoyed this one.

Wilma Celtic Moon Spice
Scent Description: A warm blend of spices. A very inviting aroma.
My Thoughts: I'm not sure why it's called Celtic Moon Spice, but this a very nice spice scent. It's a blend of kitchen spices like nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon. What I like about it is while it has all those elements of baked goods, it really doesn't smell like a baked good. It's just spices.

Ten Digit Creations Frosted Winter Berry
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: This smells nothing like frosted, winter, or berries. This smells exactly like cherry almond, though. I was expecting a wintery berry scent and I'm just getting Jergens original lotion scent. Not my favorite.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 10/23/16-10/30/16

Where did time go? I needed to start melting through my fall scents now because it will be holiday melting time before you know it. I did get through some fall scents this week and it was overall a fairly good wax week!

ScentSationals Ginger Pumpkin
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: This is basically pumpkin spice on steroids. It's a lot spicier than your average pumpkin spice. I detect ginger and a lot more cinnamon. It's a great scent. I really like it. Despite the cupcake photo on the front, I only get a hint of a bakery note going on. It's really just an extra spicy pumpkin spice.

Scent Description: tart pomegranate is softened by the earthy aroma of fresh juniper berries
My Thoughts: This is more of a holiday scent to me than fall, but that really doesn't matter. It's a very juicy pomegranate note with earthy and airy notes added to it. It's a really nice scent. I'm a fan of fruity wintery scents like this one. The throw was decent, but it faded fairly quickly.

Scent Description: The nostalgic fragrance of shaving cream with maybe a touch of aftershave.
My Thoughts: The description is right. This smells just like plain shaving creme. It's a soft and very soapy clean scent. There isn't anything really overly strong or masculine about this. It's just shaving cream. I really enjoyed this scent. I'll be needing more.

Ten Digit Creations Pumpkin Honey Chai
Scent Description: creamy pumpkin, black chai, vanilla, milk, and honey
My Thoughts: The description on this one is not right in my opinion. This smells like pumpkin, butter, and salt. An obscene amount of salt. This scent is so salty to me! It's not bad, but it's not anything I really could handle for a long period of time. It's like a pumpkin cookie buried in 4ft of salt. It's weird,don't I dont totally hate it. It just needs to be 90% less salty and 90% more honey and chai. I get the slightest bit of chai from this but no honey at all.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 10/9/16-10/23/16

This is more like a review of wax over the past 2 weeks. Last week, I caught a cold. I couldn't smell anything for a week, so I skipped last week's post. My sense of smell returned this past Thursday, so I have 2 waxes pre-cold and 2 waxes post-cold to share with you today.

Lake Providence Lodge Lovely Grace
Scent Description: This is a duplication of a famous actress’ fragrance although I think it smells also like another fancy line’s shower gel and lotion. So, I combined the name! This scent is for those who love clean, fresh and slightly floral scents.
My Thoughts: This smells like Philosophy's Amazing Grace scent. It's a lovely feminine, perfume-like scent that is soft and pleasant. I love this scent as it has a more sophisticated touch, but it's still a clean scent. I really enjoyed this one.

Yankee Candle Crisp Fall Night 
Scent Description: The autumn evening invites with brisk earthiness and dreamy interludes of lavender and woodland notes.
My Thoughts: This is a soft woodsy scent. I go through phases of loving woodsy scents and not being able to stomach them. This one is nice because it's a softer scent. It's not overbearingly woodsy. I definitely get the lavender and woodsy vibe going on and it works well. Yankee Candle wax tarts are known to be really light in throw, this one is light-medium, but it works for a scent like this. I don't think I'd want it to be stronger.

Lake Providence Lodge Chamomile & Lavender 
Scent Description: Sweet, calming chamomile is blended with an herbal lavender creating a relaxing and clean scent.
My Thoughts: Chamomile and lavender blends are probably my absolute favorite and this one delivers. It's the perfect soothing, cozy, and relaxing scent I want when it's bedtime or I just need to relax. It's soft, clean, and powdery. I love the throw on this one too, it's strong unlike similar blends from other vendors.

Wilma's Bonfire Bliss
Scent Description: Roasting marshmallows at a bonfire!
My Thoughts: I'm guessing this is a dupe to BBW Marshmallow Fireside. I have a Marshmallow Fireside candle and I do detect some differences. Bonfire Bliss I can't help but get a weird coconut note from it, it's not as marshmallowy or smoky as the BBW. It's a nice scent, but not exactly what I wanted from it.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 10/2/16-10/9/16

This was an OK wax week. I really had only one standout scent and the rest were just alright. I'm hoping this next week will be better. I'm still trying not to overdo it on fall scents, but for some reasons even when I do only one a week I'm not too keen on them. I wish I didn't burn out so fast.

Ten Digit Creations Autumn Daze
Scent Description: fallen leaves, fresh air, and a stroll through the woods
My Thoughts: This was my standout scent of the week. I love this outdoorsy fall scent. It's fresh airy, green, with hints of apple, and just the tiniest bit smokiness. It's really the perfect fall scent for someone like me who prefers clean and fresh scents. It has those elements of fall without going into stereotypical fall scent territory.

Wilma's Fake Clean
Scent Description: The smell of a freshly cleaned house!
My Thoughts: This is not what I wanted it to be. I was hoping for a Pine-Sol or bleach-type scent. I know that's not appealing to most, but when I think fake clean that's what I think. I like that type of scent. This is not that. It almost reminds me of a beachy sand scent with some sweet lemon. It has a sweetness to it that puts me off. Not my idea of fake clean, but clearly someone else's! The throw wasn't great either.

Scent Description: juicy apples with a touch of spice
My Thoughts: This is your standard apple spice scent. It's a nice scent, but I had to take it out after a half an hour. It was just too strong and was giving me a headache. I don't see this scent being really any different than the countless other varieties of this same scent either. I don't hate this scent, but it was just too much for me.

Scent Description: Cheers to the cocktail-inspired fragrance of tart cranberry with a touch of citrus. Top : Lemon Zest, Sweet Orange - Middle : Cranberry, Raspberry - Bottom : Creamy Milk
My Thoughts: This is nice cranberry scent, it's not too sweet or too tart. It's not the most exciting scent I've tried. It's OK. I don't hate it and don't love it. I have other cranberry scents I like better, but this one is nice.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 9/18/16-9/25/16

I can't complain much about my wax week. It was pretty good. I only had one I didn't care for much and the rest were pretty awesome! Again, I've been trying to back off a bit from fall scents this past week because I don't want to get overloaded. I'm doing pretty good. I haven't burned out yet or overdone it on fall scents.

ScentSationals Adventure
Scent Description: Travel the wild, tree-filled mountains with this fresh, masculine scent. Musky and clean, Adventure brings to mind wild plants and running streams.
My Thoughts: I would say their scent description is pretty spot on. This is a blend of a clean masculine scent and fresh greenery. It's very crisp and clean. It's not overpowering or too sharp like some masculine scents can get. It had a moderate throw which was perfect for a scent like this one.

Lake Providence Lodge Lavender
Scent Description: A clean, relaxing herbal lavender scent.
My Thoughts: This is really bizarre. I'm almost thinking that either I got the wrong scent or this scent accidentally got blended with something else. This doesn't smell anything like a herbal lavender to me at all. I get a lavender note at the base, but I'm also getting this weird grape juice note in there too. It's this weird acidic grape note really doesn't flatter the lavender.  I found this scent so offputting and very far off from any lavender I'm used to.

Wilma's Peppermint Eucalyptus 
Scent Description: A refreshing clean blend of peppermint and eucalyptus.
My Thoughts: Yes! This is scent perfection. You see a lot of spearmint and eucalyptus but not a lot of peppermint and eucalyptus. This is a strong and crisp peppermint with the eucalyptus in the background. This is a scent monster and had amazing throw. I had this melting on and off for 3 days before it started to lose its potency. This is such a great clean and energizing scent.

Wilma's Twilight Woods Type
Scent Description: Sweet woods with notes of berries and a touch of musk.
My Thoughts: This is a dupe to the Bath & Body Works scent. It's spot on in my opinion. I got this as a surprise sample and I had forgotten how much I loved this scent. It's a really nice perfumey take on a fall scent. It's a soft, warm, and feminine scent I have difficulty really describing, but I really like it.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 6/5/16-6/12/16

I broke even this week on wax. I had two hits and two misses. I'm also getting the point where I'm running out of new wax to review! Oh no! Hopefully, I find some more soon.

Wilma's Lavender Chamomile
Scent Description: A calming mixture of fresh lavender and relaxing chamomile.
My Thoughts: This is your Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Bath baby lotion type scent. I love this scent. It's a very soothing and relaxing scent. This was the perfect 50/50 blend of lavender and chamomile. What I found most noteworthy of this scent was the strength. This was strong! I have a few lavender and chamomile blends from other brands and they're always a fairly light scent in regards to throw. I'm very happy this one is strong in a good way, not overpowering.

Yankee Candle Home for the Holidays
Scent Description: The holiday spices of cinnamon and clove, mixed with earthy cedarwood and balsam.
My Thoughts: Yes, it's June and it's 90+ degrees with 80% humidity, but I was in the mood for this scent. This is your very general holiday scent. Picture it, Michael's, Joann's, and Hobby Lobby October-November. Cinnamon pine cones. That's how this smells. I really love this scent. It's not sugary or bakery, it's not overpowering Christmas tree. It's a nice cinnamon woodsy blend that smells like the most wonderful time of the year.

Ten Digit Creations Under the Sea
Scent Description: cool clean ocean water with a refreshing blast of mint
My Thoughts: This one is weird. I don't get any clean ocean water scent from this or any true mint notes. This smells exactly like Orbit Sweet Mint gum. Orbit Sweet Mint gum is my favorite flavor, but I don't want my house to smell like it. This is a very artificial gum mint smell without any water notes. I was hoping the mint in this would be like an herbal mint you get in clean scents (i.e. Eucalyptus Spearmint). That would have made sense for a scent named this with that description. Unfortunately, I'm just getting Orbit gum.

Scent Description: This fragrance is very interesting as white peach offers a bit of a tart but sweet citrus note and honey adds just the right amount of sweetness.
My Thoughts: I'm not getting any peach, honey, or sweetness from this scent. All I get is tart lemon. It's not a nice lemon either. Usually, I prefer tart lemon to sweet, but this was just harsh and bitter. There wasn't anything peach or spa-like about this. Blech.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 5/22/16-5/29/16

It has been a fairly good wax week. I'm definitely finding myself craving summer scents lately. I love fruity scents, but I'm incredibly picky about them. I hate sugary sweet candy scents, and I find a lot of fruity scents can go that direction. I prefer the more natural fruity scents or fruity drink scents (granted they don't get too sugary). It can be a lot of trial and error in finding the right fruity scents, but I did have some success this week. 

Ten Digit Creations Fruit Slices

Scent Description: orange, grapefruit, strawberry, melon, peach, kiwi, and sugar crystals

My Thoughts: This is scent is fruity perfection. I love the blend of fruits in this scent blend and I don't find the sugar crystals aspect to take into a sickly sweet direction. This has a really nice natural tart and sweet fruit blend that has a nice throw. It reminds me a bit of a fruit punch type scent, but not a specific brand of fruit punch.

Better Homes & Gardens Sun Washed Poppies 

Scent Description: An intriguing floral, fruity blend that opens with notes of sweet apple, pink raspberry and white pepper. A playful heart of rose petals, jasmine, and wild poppies leads into a sensuous comforting base of sandalwood and sun-washed musk. 

My Thoughts: I'm so on the fence with this scent. I'd say I like it about 80%. This is going to be such a convoluted review.  I really get the fruity and floral blend. The raspberry and poppy are most prominent. I do like this and had it melting all day, but I also don't like it. I think it's the poppy note. It's nice, but poppy can go a bit musty to me. It almost smells like an overripe peach or something. It's really not bad I swear, there is just this underlying "hmph" type thing going on if that makes any sense! I think some people will like it others will not.

Colonial Candle Caipirinha 

Scent Description: Sip on Brazil's most popular cocktail with notes of sugar cane rum, honey, and lime. Top: Tangy Lemon, Bergamot - Middle: Cardamom, Currant, Orange Blossom - Bottom: Vanilla Bourbon, Musk

My Thoughts:  I love citrus and I love bergamot. I especially love citrus drink blends. This one is really nice as it's very citrusy, sweet, and clean. It's not too sweet and is a really refreshing blend. The throw on this was inconsistent to me. I'd get a strong whiff of it here and there, but other times I really had to try to smell it.

Scent Description: Just like the lavender household cleaner. So good and so strong!

My Thoughts: I hate artificial scents (when it comes to artificial fruits and etc.), but I do love chemically laden smelling cleaning product scents. This smells exactly like Fabuloso and I love the smell of a freshly cleaned house with bleach and other chemically ridden cleaning products. This is awesome and the scent description is right it is strong, but in a good clean way. I did not find it overpowering. If you like cleaning product smell you'll like this, otherwise, stay away. In fact, I think this is a dupe to ScentSationals Lavender Glow.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 5/8/16-5/15/16

This was a fairly good wax week. I only had one odd ball wax this week, otherwise it was fairly good. The only issue I really seemed to have this week with the waxes I melt was throw. I wanted some stronger wax!

Colonial Candle Sea Spray

Scent Description: Splash around in a crisp marine blend of sea grass, salty sea foam, and amber sand.Top: Sea Grass, Seaweed, Herbal - Middle: Marine, Ozone - Bottom: Driftwood, Sea Salt, Amber

My Thoughts: This is probably the most authentic and natural salt water scent I've come across. I get a very well balanced ozone, sea salt water, and seaweed blend from this wax. It's ocean perfection. It's a very refreshing scent with decent throw too.

Wilma's Lavender Eucalyptus

Scent Description: A relaxing blend of wild lavender and fresh eucalyptus.

My Thoughts: I loved this scent on cold. It really is a nice balance of lavender and eucalyptus. This got weird when melted though. I did get that soothing lavender and green floral eucalyptus, but something else was coming out in it. I swear I got this weird note of chicken and waffles. I know that sounds bizarre, but that's what I was smelling. It was like lavender, eucalyptus, fried chicken ,and maple syrup.  Needless to say, my nose to offense to this bizarre mystery note. Blech. I don't get any of that weird note on cold though -shrug-.

Ten Digit Creations Rainbow Sherbet

Scent Description: creamy vanilla with notes of pineapple, honeydew melon, and raspberries

My Thoughts: This reminds me of that fruit punch stuff you'd have at parties as a kid. It was a mix of Sprite, Hawaiian Punch, and rainbow sherbet in a punch bowl. This smells like that. It's amazing! I get the tartness from the raspberry and the bite from the pineapple, a hint of creaminess to it, plus this fizzy note. I LOVE fizzy and effervescent scent, so this was my jam. I just wish it had a stronger throw.

Scent Description: Relax with this garden-inspired medley of cool, crisp cucumber and fresh cilantro leaves. Top : Fresh Wasabi, Basil Leaf, White Grapefruit - Middle : Cucumber Peel, Trailing Ivy, Cilantro - Bottom : Cactus Blossom, Oak Moss, Violet Leaf

My Thoughts: Speaking of fizzy, this is another fizzy scent. This scent is so crisp and refreshing. I definitely detect the cucumber, grapefruit, and cilantro in this wax. I'm not familiar with cocktail types, but this smells like some type of cocktail made with seltzer water or something you'd want to drink on a very hot day. Like the previous one though, I wish it had a stronger throw.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 5/1/16-5/8/16

It's been a pretty good wax week. I did have one flop, but nothing this week that I thought smelled bad so that's good! I'm starting to get to the point though where I need new wax to melt. I'm running out of things to review!

Candles by Victoria Bergamot & Herbal Mint
Scent Description: This revitalizing combination of peppermint, cucumber, floral, bergamot, and lemon oils is extraordinarily pleasing to the senses.
My Thoughts: I really loved this scent. Peppermint is the strong background note, but you definitely get a lot of greenery and citrus from the bergamot in there too. It's a very clean and fresh scent that really brightens up a room. I love the crisp refreshing mint paired with green notes from the cucumber. This one is great!

Ten Digit Creations Fresh Air
Scent Description: clean and crisp morning air
My Thoughts: I was hesitant to purchase this one because "Fresh Air" type scents either fall really flat or smell like harsh laundry detergent. This "Fresh Air" fell a little flat for me. This does have light laundry scent paired with like a dewy spring fresh scent. It just blended into the background and I didn't really notice it. I think that is partially the scent's fault and perhaps partially my own. I have Glade plug-ins going in "Clean Linen" throughout my house. That's a very neutral clean scent, and perhaps this scent just blended in with that where I couldn't detect it. It's a nice scent, but could be stronger.

Ten Digit Creations Shampure
Scent Description: blend of over 25 raw materials, including coriander, eucalyptus, lavender, orange, bergamot, and ylang ylang
My Thoughts: This is an actual Aveda dupe and it smells it. This has a lot going on, but it's really nice. This smells like a blend of peppery, herbal, and minty notes. I would say this does go a bit to the medicinal side, but I personally like it. That being said this does fit the clean category, but it's very distinctive. I'm pretty sure this a scent you either love or hate. I love it.

Wilma's Blue Lagoon
Scent Description: The fresh and salty scent of the clearest blue waters of a lagoon with lush foliage.
My Thoughts: I don't salty water scent from this one. I get like a waterfall, stream, lake, fresh water scent from it. This is a that type of water scent blended out with some aloe and other greenery. This is a very thirst quenching type smell. It's a very juicy and sweet water scent. I really like this scent.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 4/24/16-5/1/16

This was a definite hit or miss wax week. It was cut right down the middle. I had two awesome waxes and two not so awesome ones. The good thing is the awesome ones were really awesome and will definitely be repeat purchases.

Ten Digit Creations Lavender Honey
Scent Description: fresh lavender blossoms drenched in sweet honey
My Thoughts: Where has this been all my life? This scent is divine! The sweet honey and herbal lavender play off each other so well. The honey note in this is natural, nothing artificial. This scent is really a perfect soothing, comforting, and "you just want to wrap yourself in cozy blankets and fall asleep" type scent. I love it and went ahead and ordered it in TDC's lotion, body mist, and leave in conditioner. That's how much I love this scent!

Wilma's Zen
Scent Description: Find your perfect state of mind with our blend of crisp lemongrass and smooth rain forest woods.
My Thoughts: I get lemongrass from this, but I don't get any woodsy or green notes as I'd imagine from the description. What I do get is this really sharp and strange bitter note that I can't place along with the lemongrass. I'm going to be very honest. You know those scented pads and tampons? It smells like that. It's this off putting artificial bathroom cleaning product type smell. Do not like and definitely not "zen" like.

Ten Digit Creations Ginger Lime
Scent Description: fresh lime with warm ginger
My Thoughts: When I smelled this on cold I knew immediately it would be a favorite. This is a great scent combination. I love the clean and fresh lime paired with the kick from the ginger. It's really the perfect summer clean type scent. Unfortunately, I got absolutely no throw from this when melted which really disappointed me. This smells so great and it's a shame it didn't perform well.

Ten Digit Creations Bergamot Spice
Scent Description: bergamot, ginger, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli, and sweet basil
My Thoughts: I asked what people thought was an underrated Ten Digit Creations scent and a lot of people mentioned this Bergamot Spice. Yes, this scent is awesome. I was always wary of it because of the sandalwood and cedar which are not my favorites notes, but blended with the other notes it's amazing. This an overall very citrus, herbal, and spicy scent, but very much in the clean category. Think, Aveda hair products. That's what this is in line with. I love this one.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 4/10/16-4/17/16

This was unfortunately a dud week for wax. I was pretty disappointed in two of these I tried this week. One of the waxes I tried was great and another was alright, but I'll explain that later. I'm hoping for a better wax week this next week!

Ten Digit Creations Amarige
Scent Description: top notes of peach, plum, orange, mandarin, with the sweetness of rose wood and neroli. Middle floral notes of mimosa, neroli, tuberose, gardenia and acacia. Base notes of musk, sandalwood, vanilla, amber, tonka bean and cedar
My Thoughts: This a dupe the popular 90's Givenchy perfume.This perfume is so nostalgic to me. I remember teachers and other "grown ups" when I was younger wearing this and I loved how elegant the scent was. This dupe is spot on. It's a very aromatic, perfumey, and sophisticated scent. I definitely get a strong white floral note paired with muskiness and citrus. It's such a beautifully complex scent. It's really great, but definitely not for people who are sensitive to perfume smells. It's strong, but amazing to me!

Wilma's Lavender Leaves
Scent Description: Fresh lavender together with notes of sage, bergamot, rose and teas
My Thoughts: I had high hopes for this one because it had such an interesting scent description. I love lavender and that paired with the other herbal notes and rose sounded amazing. This just smelled like straight up lavender to me. I could not pick up any of the other elements which was very disappointing. Also, this had almost a non-existant throw. I could hardly smell it in my small bedroom.

Wilma's Lavender Cucumber
Scent Description: Green cucumber and soothing sage blends with wild lavender.
My Thoughts: I love lavender blends, so I try to try as many as I can. I have never seen a lavender cucumber blend before, so I was excited about this one. This smells exactly like a blend of lavender and cucumber. You get that herbal fragrant soothing lavender scent paired with that fresh, watery, and sweet cucumber. It's really the perfect blend of fresh and soothing. I liked this blend, however, like the previous one it didn't have a strong throw. It smelled strong when I was 2-3 ft away from it, but any further I could hardly detect it.

Ten Digit Creations Alcatraz
Scent Description: jasmine, honeysuckle, vetiver
My Thoughts: This is a dupe to some Lush fragrance, but I've never tried it so I can't compare. This is a straight white floral scent. I also swear I'm picking up some coconut in there. I love white florals because they're very fresh, clean, and tropical smelling. This is great, but I'm not so sure I like it as a home fragrance. This smells more like something I'd want as a hair product or soap product which makes sense because it's a dupe from Lush. It's just missing something for me as home fragrance. I think it needs some citrus note in it to liven and freshen it up for me to like it more. This did have a strong throw though.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 4/3/16-4/10/16

This post was meant for Sunday, but since that was my blog birthday I pushed it back to today. I had a fairly good wax week. I didn't have any waxes I detested, so that's a start! There are many weeks where I have one I really can't stand. This week not everything was a favorite, but nothing was a dud.

Colonial Candle French Lavender
Scent Description: Whisk away with this soft and soothing lavender fragrance. Top: Fresh Green - Middle: Lavender - Bottom: Musk, Woody
My Thoughts: This isn't my favorite type of lavender scent, as I prefer a more herbal take, but I still like this one. It does have some of those herbal notes, but it has softness to it and I think touch of powderiness that I believe comes from the bottom musky and woody notes. I'm not usually into powdery scents, but this one works. It's a nice balance of soft and soothing.

Mainstays Darkest Sandalwood
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: This is a very masculine scent, not in the sense that it smells like cologne, but it's very rich and deep. This smells like pure wood blended with leather and hint of bergamot.  I'm not usually into woodsy scents aa they tend to have a sweetness to them I find unpleasant. This one is just so dark, rich, and complex I'm not really getting any of that. The problem with this one is throw was poor.

Wilma Victorian Cleaning
Scent Description: Our own blend of clean cotton linens and lemongrass with a slightly green note.
My Thoughts: The main note I'm getting from this lemongrass with a hint of laundry scent in the background to balance it out. This is a pure lemongrass scent too. It has that amazing herbal aromatherapy-like quality. I liked this blend. It's a very crisp and refreshing scent.

Colonial Candle Rainshowers
Scent Description: Capturing that moment when the rain first falls, carrying hints of ozone, clary sage and oakmoss, saturating the ground and cleansing everything it touches. Top: Ozone Mint, Grapefruit, Glacier Water Accord - Medium: Sage Clary, Lavender - Bottom: Oakmoss, Coumarin, Tonka Bean.
My Thoughts: There is a lot going on in this scent and that means it could go either way. It can either be awful or spectacular. This one is spectacular. This is such a sophisticated and unique clean water scent. I can identify all of the fragrance notes it listed. It's a refreshing blend of herbal, minty, water, and green rolled all into one.Those are all my favorite type of scents, so it's no wonder. This one had great throw, but the scent only lasted for a few hours. I wish it lasted longer!
