Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 11/27/16-12/4/16

I finally was able to find some of the new Better Homes & Gardens winter wax melts this week, so that's a success! Overall, this wax week was a bit of let down. I had more duds than wins, but that's OK. Experimenting is fun anyways!
Ten Digit Creations Peppermint Meringue
Scent Description: sweet peppermint, fluffy marshmallows, and whipped cream make up this sweet confection
My Thoughts: Peppermint scents are about the only sweet-type scents I do actually like. This one was alright. There is a definite peppermint note, but the cream and marshmallow notes are subtle. The scent is nice, but it's not 100% for me. The scent wasn't as strong as I'd like it to be either especially for a peppermint scent.
Scent Throw: 2.5/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Better Homes & Gardens Winter's Sleigh Ride
Scent Description: Seasonal blend of orange zest, cool winter spices, smoky woods, incense and mountain fir, with a warming base of oakmoss, blue cedar and vanilla bean.
My Thoughts: This was my favorite scent this week. It's a smoky Christmas tree scent that is warm and cozy. The Christmas tree notes in here are not overpowering or strong as the smokiness really softens and mellows them out. I do detect a bit of citrus in this too. This is really a nice cozy winter air scent. I really like this one.
Scent Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Walmart

Yankee Candle Over the River
Scent Description: A cool and calm stroll by the river. . . watery green notes with hints of sage, amber and oak.
My Thoughts: This is one of those water and masculine cologne type scents. The watery notes and sage are most prominent to my nose. It's not the most original type scent, but I do really like it. That being said, the throw on this was weak. I could smell it very strongly if I was less than 3ft away from it any more than that it was undetectable to me. This is a common problem with Yankee tarts.
Scent Throw: 1/5
Where To Buy: Yankee Candle

Lake Providence Lodge Sparkling Lemonade
Scent Description: Ice cold lemonade with a touch of fizzy citrus soda added.
My Thoughts: I should have known better when I purchased this one, but I love fizzy and effervescent scents so I thought I'd try it anyways. This is just way too sweet for me. It's very sugary and scents this sweet just turn my stomach. I think if you like sweet scents like many people do you would like this one. There is that fizzy note in there that I love, but it's just too sweet for my tastes and stomach!
Scent Throw: 3.5/5
Where To Buy: Lake Providence Lodge

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 11/20/16-11/27/16

It was another fairly good wax week! I'm trying to slowly ease myself into the holiday scents and that hasn't been too hard for me. The only bummer thing about wax lately is the Walmarts I've been to do not have their holiday wax out yet outside 1 or 2 scents. I'm hoping they'll get more.

Ten Digit Creations Ivory Clean
Scent Description: fresh and squeaky clean just like the soap
My Thoughts: This smells exactly like Ivory soap. It's a very hard scent to describe, but it's so nostalgic to me as it was the soap I remember having in the house when I was younger. It's a very clean soapy scent, but it has this distinct scent note to it I really can't describe. Go smell a bar of Ivory and you'll know what it smells like. I really enjoyed this scent and it had a nice throw.
Scent Throw: 3.5/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Wilma Harvest
Scent Description: A fabulous warm blend of cinnamon, clove and spices. A Yankee duplication.
My Thoughts: I have the Yankee one and was disappointed with it because the throw as light. I was hoping this would be stronger, but it wasn't much. It's an excellent scent on cold it's the perfect blend of Thanksgiving/Christmas cooking spices. It just isn't strong enough.
Scent Throw: 1.5/5
Where To Buy: Wilma's Shop

Ten Digit Creations Christmas Cabin
Scent Description: blend of bayberry, cranberry, cinnamon bark, and orange
My Thoughts: I adore this scent. This is an amazing Christmas scent. It really is the perfect blend of all those Christmas notes from greenery, fruit, and spices. You can detect the individual notes, but they come together for a perfect balance. This reminded me a lot of Yankee Candle's Home for the Holidays scent. They're very similar.
Scent Throw: 3.5/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Yankee Candle Catching Rays
Scent Description: Sharp orange and golden amber bring that great beach feeling of being warmed all the way through by a perfect summer sun.
My Thoughts: Orange and amber are not what come to mind when I smell this scent. It's a beautiful scent, though. I get kind of a laundry, fresh, floral, water blend going on with Catching Rays. It's kind of like a seaside fancy resort type smell. I know that can be anything under the sun, but it's what I'd imagine my fresh towels to smell like at a resort such as that. It definitely dethrones Yankee's Ocean Star and is my new favorite Yankee scent! Unlike other Yankee tarts this one has a great throw!
Scent Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Yankee Candle

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 10/9/16-10/23/16

This is more like a review of wax over the past 2 weeks. Last week, I caught a cold. I couldn't smell anything for a week, so I skipped last week's post. My sense of smell returned this past Thursday, so I have 2 waxes pre-cold and 2 waxes post-cold to share with you today.
Lake Providence Lodge Lovely Grace
Scent Description: This is a duplication of a famous actress’ fragrance although I think it smells also like another fancy line’s shower gel and lotion. So, I combined the name! This scent is for those who love clean, fresh and slightly floral scents.
My Thoughts: This smells like Philosophy's Amazing Grace scent. It's a lovely feminine, perfume-like scent that is soft and pleasant. I love this scent as it has a more sophisticated touch, but it's still a clean scent. I really enjoyed this one.
Scent Throw: 3.5/5
Where To Buy: Lake Providence Lodge

Yankee Candle Crisp Fall Night
Scent Description: The autumn evening invites with brisk earthiness and dreamy interludes of lavender and woodland notes.
My Thoughts: This is a soft woodsy scent. I go through phases of loving woodsy scents and not being able to stomach them. This one is nice because it's a softer scent. It's not overbearingly woodsy. I definitely get the lavender and woodsy vibe going on and it works well. Yankee Candle wax tarts are known to be really light in throw, this one is light-medium, but it works for a scent like this. I don't think I'd want it to be stronger.
Scent Throw: 2.5/5
Where To Buy: Yankee Candle

Lake Providence Lodge Chamomile & Lavender
Scent Description: Sweet, calming chamomile is blended with an herbal lavender creating a relaxing and clean scent.
My Thoughts: Chamomile and lavender blends are probably my absolute favorite and this one delivers. It's the perfect soothing, cozy, and relaxing scent I want when it's bedtime or I just need to relax. It's soft, clean, and powdery. I love the throw on this one too, it's strong unlike similar blends from other vendors.
Scent Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Lake Providence Lodge

Wilma's Bonfire Bliss
Scent Description: Roasting marshmallows at a bonfire!
My Thoughts: I'm guessing this is a dupe to BBW Marshmallow Fireside. I have a Marshmallow Fireside candle and I do detect some differences. Bonfire Bliss I can't help but get a weird coconut note from it, it's not as marshmallowy or smoky as the BBW. It's a nice scent, but not exactly what I wanted from it.
Scent Throw: 3/5
Where To Buy: Wilma's Shop

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 9/11/16-9/18/16

It's been another letdown wax week for me! I think that's what I get for having a few good weeks in a row. I only had one winning wax this week. Majority of my disappointment this week wasn't with scent but was with throw. I did have some wax orders come in this past week so hopefully, the new stuff will be up to par!
Ten Digit Creations Roasted Pine Cones
Scent Description: awesome aroma of pine cones roasted over an open flame
My Thoughts: This smells just like pine cones. It's blend of pine cones, pine needles, and some smokiness. It's an excellent outdoorsy scent that is very authentic and natural. It's not overpowering or heavy as some woodsy pine-like scents can get either which I appreciate. I wish there were more fall scents from other vendors and retail like this one. It's so hard to find authentic outdoorsy scents.
Throw: 3/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Bath & Body Works Spiced Pomegranate Cider
Scent Description: Ruby Red Pomegranate, Sweet Apple Cider, Muddled Blackberry, Star Anise
My Thoughts: This didn't work for me. On cold sniff, I could pick up a blend of tart pomegranate and spice. When burned, I really got this creamy vanilla fruity smell and hardly any noticeable spice. There isn't anything spiced or cider about this scent in my opinion which is very disappointing.
Throw: 4.5/5
Where To Buy: Bath & Body Works

Yankee Candle Harvest
Scent Description: A blend of cinnamon, cloves, and musk with a hint of sweet apples and pumpkin.
My Thoughts: This is the perfect quintessential fall scent. It's the perfect equal blend of all things fall spice, apple, and pumpkin. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this scent. It's my fall dream. However, the throw is absolute crap. I am so peeved, but I should have known better Yankee Candle tarts never really throw well yet I always try them again anyways.
Throw: 1.5/5
Where To Buy: Yankee Candle

Ten Digit Creations Garden Mint
Scent Description: strong aroma of mint with a background of fresh earth
My Thoughts: This smells exactly like a fresh mint plant. It is so authenticly scented. I love this scent it's so crisp and refreshing and a great blend of herbal and earthy. However, again, the throw was not good. I really had to get close to it or breath in really hard to get a whiff of it. It surprised me because on cold it smells strong.
Throw: 2/5

Fall Fun Series: Fall Decor & Melts

Today, for the Fall Fun Series I'll be showing you my fall decor and my recent melts. Mind you, I don't have a lot of fall decor. Decorating is one of my favorite things, but I'm very limited on space in a one bedroom apartment. That doesn't leave me a lot of room to decorate, and even less room to store decorations, so I have to keep it simple and small. Also, with my budget, I like to keep it inexpensive.

I have a little fall set up on my dining room table. I will be expanding my decorations come Halloween time to include my patio balcony and my front door. For now, this is what I have.
The highlight of my fall decor is definitely the lighted tree. I have this version and a cherry blossom one I bring out in spring and summer. I got this tree at Bed Bath & Beyond for a great price. This is the 22in Brown Wrapped Amber Leaf tree and it's $29.99. I purchased this in store using one of the 20% off coupons, so it was very reasonable. It's also available on their website. I bought this tree last year and it's still kicking this year.

The rest of my fall decor all comes from Dollar Tree. I know that's not very elegant or classy, but for my wants right now it works well. They actually do have some pretty cute stuff too. I got most of this stuff last fall, but I saw many of the same items there this year. I love the little stones with the cute autumn greetings. The fox "Happy Fall" one is new for this year. The pumpkins, flowers, straw owls, and pumpkin placemat all came from there too.

I also spotted these super cute kitchen towels at Walmart today. They had a nice little endcap display with kitchen towels and oven mitts for only $0.88 each!

Melts

My biggest problem when it comes to seasonal melts is I tend to overdo it early on. I will melt so much fall stuff August-September come October, I'm sick of fall scents and want to move into Christmas ones. That means by December, I'm ready for spring...and so on and so forth! I'm really trying not do that this year, so the past few days I have very few fall melts and a lot of everyday type melts I melt year round.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 6/5/16-6/12/16

I broke even this week on wax. I had two hits and two misses. I'm also getting the point where I'm running out of new wax to review! Oh no! Hopefully, I find some more soon.
Wilma's Lavender Chamomile
Scent Description: A calming mixture of fresh lavender and relaxing chamomile.
My Thoughts: This is your Johnson & Johnson Bedtime Bath baby lotion type scent. I love this scent. It's a very soothing and relaxing scent. This was the perfect 50/50 blend of lavender and chamomile. What I found most noteworthy of this scent was the strength. This was strong! I have a few lavender and chamomile blends from other brands and they're always a fairly light scent in regards to throw. I'm very happy this one is strong in a good way, not overpowering.
Scent Throw: 4.5/5
Where To Buy: Wilma's Shop

Yankee Candle Home for the Holidays
Scent Description: The holiday spices of cinnamon and clove, mixed with earthy cedarwood and balsam.
My Thoughts: Yes, it's June and it's 90+ degrees with 80% humidity, but I was in the mood for this scent. This is your very general holiday scent. Picture it, Michael's, Joann's, and Hobby Lobby October-November. Cinnamon pine cones. That's how this smells. I really love this scent. It's not sugary or bakery, it's not overpowering Christmas tree. It's a nice cinnamon woodsy blend that smells like the most wonderful time of the year.
Scent Throw: 3.5/5
Where To Buy: Yankee Candle

Ten Digit Creations Under the Sea
Scent Description: cool clean ocean water with a refreshing blast of mint
My Thoughts: This one is weird. I don't get any clean ocean water scent from this or any true mint notes. This smells exactly like Orbit Sweet Mint gum. Orbit Sweet Mint gum is my favorite flavor, but I don't want my house to smell like it. This is a very artificial gum mint smell without any water notes. I was hoping the mint in this would be like an herbal mint you get in clean scents (i.e. Eucalyptus Spearmint). That would have made sense for a scent named this with that description. Unfortunately, I'm just getting Orbit gum.
Scent Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Wilma's Shop White Peach Spa
Scent Description: This fragrance is very interesting as white peach offers a bit of a tart but sweet citrus note and honey adds just the right amount of sweetness.
My Thoughts: I'm not getting any peach, honey, or sweetness from this scent. All I get is tart lemon. It's not a nice lemon either. Usually, I prefer tart lemon to sweet, but this was just harsh and bitter. There wasn't anything peach or spa-like about this. Blech.
Scent Throw: 4.5/5
Where To Buy: Wilma's Shop

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 3/20/16-3/27/16

It was an OK wax week. I didn't have anything that really blew me out of the water. I had two scents I felt were below average and two scents I thought were pretty good.

ScentSationals Melon Flower
Scent Description: A soft and sweet fruity floral
My Thoughts: This one is strange. I keep really wanting to like it, but there is some weird note in there that just ruins the rest of it for me. This smells like a blend of maybe honeydew and honeysuckle. These are two scents I'm on board with, but when I melted it this weird caramel-like scent came out. It took a fresh melon and floral scent into this weird sugary artificial territory I do not like. I had to turn this one off it was just too strange and too sweet for me.
Scent Throw: 3.5/5
Where To Buy: ScentSationals

Yankee Candle Windblown
Scent Description: Fresh air and a touch of tangy citrus blend with sea spray and a hint of lily
My Thoughts: This smells nice. My complaint with this one is this is about as generic clean scent as you can get. It's a balance of clean laundry, water, and fresh air scent that you can pretty much find something similar in any candle/wax brand. There isn't anything that stands out about it or makes it special. There isn't anything wrong with the scent either. In fact, I think this would be one of those universally flattering scents. I just think there are more interesting clean scents out there. Plus, the throw isn't great.
Scent Throw: 2/5
Where To Buy: Yankee Candle

Bath & Body Works Turquoise Waters
Scent Description: A blend of sea spray, sunlight & beach grass transports you to turquoise blue ocean waters
My Thoughts: This is heavy on the salty ocean water note paired with a green note. This is a more unique clean scent for sure. I like the blend of water notes with greenery and it's not something I see or smell often in retail scents. This scent is very refreshing and crisp. It's a strong scent too which I do get from a lot of B&BW candles, but not in an unpleasant way. This is also one of those year round scents. It's not tropical or beachy, so it fits any season.
Scent Throw: 4.5/5
Where To Buy: Bath & Body Works

Yankee Candle Fluffy Towels
Scent Description: The fresh scent of clean towels warm from the dryer with notes of lemon, apple, lavender and lily.
My Thoughts: This is actually one of my favorite YC scents. I've had this candle for awhile. I just haven't burned it. Fluffy Towels is an upscale clean laundry scent. I definitely get the clean laundry notes with lemon and a touch of floral. It reminds me of clean linens at a hotel. I really wish I had no complaints about this scent because I love it so much, but I have one. I can burn this scent for 4-5 hours no problem, but after that this one gives me a headache. I won't stop burning this one, but I have a time limit on it. I just think it's such a clean scent it can be a bit overpowering after awhile.
Scent Throw: 4.5/5
Where To Buy: Yankee Candle

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 1/17/16-1/24/16

I'm back on the wax track! The week before last I had a cold and lost my sense of smell, so that's why there wasn't a post last week. I couldn't smell anything! I regained my olfactory senses this week so I'm back on board. I think it was overall a successful wax week. I didn't really have a bad one in this bunch.

Yankee Candle Turquoise Sky
Scent Description: Calm, salty air with hints of sea grass and musk, float gently on ocean waves
My Thoughts: This to me smelled very similar to me to Yankee Candle Ocean Star. The only difference being was that Turquoise Sky had a slight cologne/masculine note to it whereas Ocean Star didn't. I liked this one. It was fresh and crisp and an all around likable scent. It had a good throw for several hours.
Where To Buy: Bed Bath & Beyond, Yankee Candle store, or Yankee Candle online

Ten Digit Creations Endless Weekend
Scent Description: blend of raspberry lychee sorbet, sun-kissed magnolia, and vanilla sandalwood
My Thoughts: This is a dupe of the Bath & Body Works scent which happens to be my favorite for spring and summertime. I love this scent because it's juicy, tart, sweet, fresh, and perfume-like all in one. The raspberry and floral elements give it that sweet and tart blend and the vanilla sandalwood give it that elegant perfume element. You can detect all the notes in this blend of scents. My only complaint is the throw on this wasn't as strong as I would of liked. It's not weak, but average.
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations website

Ten Digit Creations Sea Salt & Ocean Breezes
Scent Description: salty air, grapefruit, rainfall mist, sea kelp, oud wood, oakmoss, patchouli, and amber
My Thoughts: This is hands down my new favorite scent of all time in the entire world. This has a 70% strong ocean, sea salt, and water note to it balanced by 30% of this perfume-y sophisticated note which I'm betting is the blend of the oud wood, oakmoss, patchouli, and amber. This smells like some luxury brand ocean-inspired perfume. It's fresh but elegant at the same time. This had a strong throw for several hours. I am in so much love with this scent! I went ahead after melting it in wax bought it in shampoo, conditioner, room spray, leave-in spray conditioner, lotion, and body spray. Can you tell I like it?
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations website

ScentSationals Sparkling Herbal Tea
Scent Description: Herbs and honey
My Thoughts: This to me smells like a chamomile tea bag. It's pretty straight forward. It smells like herbal tea. There isn't anything "sparkling" about it. I don't get any effervescent or fizzy notes, which is a bit disappointing since I do love those. That being said I do really like this scent. There are no frills about it, but it is a pure tea scent which is soothing and nice. This had a good throw for several hours.

Weekly Wax Wrap-Up: 12/20/15-1/3/16

I didn't do a wax post last week because of my Top 25 of 2015 posts going on. This post is accumulation of 2 weeks worth of wax. That beings said, it's a small list because during Christmas I did end up melting a lot of wax I have already reviewed. I only review wax I haven't reviewed before, so be sure to click the tag on this post "weekly wax wrap up" to see all of my other reviews!

Yankee Candle Ocean Star
Scent Description: Soothing and fresh . . the scent of peaceful, sun-kissed waters laced with aloe, citrus, and lotus blossom.
My Thoughts: On a previous post I said I was giving up on Yankee. I had melted a handful and they just smelled so harsh and chemically I was really put off by them. Well, Ocean Star came in and changed my mind. This scent was really nice. It has a really soothing water scent with a touch of floral. There was nothing harsh or artificial about this smell at all. This is really a perfect refreshing and clean scent that I think would be universally appealing. I loved it. Yankee revived themselves with this one for me.

Ten Digit Creations Orange Blossom
Scent Description: uplifting aroma of sweet orange blossoms
My Thoughts: Orange Blossom smells very fresh and sweet to me. Sweet in the floral and fresh sense, not sugary. I like floral sweet smells depending on the floral. I loved this scent. I'm SO SO SO over Christmas smells by Dec. 26th, I want something fresh and uplifting. This is exactly what I needed. It's clean, crisp, and sweet. I approve.

Bunch Candle Co. Lavender
Scent Description: An enchanting meadow fringed with springs of lavender
My Thoughts: Lavender can go so many ways. My favorite lavender is the pure herbal smelling lavender. This is was exactly that. It's straight up lavender. It's soothing and clean. I loved this scent too. We're on a roll here.....

ScentSationals Ocean Spray
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: The roll stops here. This is nasty. There is nothing ocean spray about this. This smells like cheap Dollar Tree cologne. It's nasty, harsh, and gross.  I was expecting a sea salt and airy scent, nope.

Ten Digit Creations Sage and Sea Salt
Scent Description: sage, sea salt, and driftwood
My Thoughts: This one is hard to describe, but I adore it. It smells like a nice hotel. You know hotel smell? The best way I can describe it has a very fresh herbal, airy, and laundry scent going on. It's not harsh or chemically, but fresh and spa-like. This one is a definite winner for me!

Happy Sunday!

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 12/6/15-12/13/15

This week was a bit bumpy with wax. I had some good ones and some not so good ones. I was surprised by one of these too this week.
ScentSationals Purr-fectly Relaxing
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: Yes, I may have purchased this one because it has cat-like name. That being said it does smell good. This to me smells like tea, honey, and a hint of a white floral (probably jasmine). It reminds me a lot of this discontinued L'Occitane Green Tea perfume I used to have years ago. It's a very cozy and elegant scent. I really like it, it's different than my usual soothing scents.

ScentSationals Big Sur
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I was really unsure about this one on cold sniff. It smelled too floral to me. I went ahead and melted it anyway and I loved it. This is a rare situation. It's usually the opposite situation. I like something on cold sniff and don't like it melted. I found when melted, this had a perfect blend of watery/sea salt ocean notes and floral. The floral was just the right touch when melted, while on cold it was too prominent. The ocean notes really came out on warm that made this a really fresh and nice scent.

Yankee Sage & Citrus
Scent Description: relaxing herbal blend of earthy sage, luxurious talc, and lemon-lime
My Thoughts: I'm giving up on Yankee. This type of scent is totally up my alley, but I don't like it. This smells so artificial too me it's nauseating. The notes in here are so synthetic it smells like harsh laundry detergent and chemically. I love sage and citrus notes in other brands, but this just smells so fake to me. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've had this issue with Yankee scents. I'm done.

ScentSationals Lavender & Herbs
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I love lavender and I love herbs. This is nice, but it's like a mellowed down version of ScentSationals Spa. There is nothing wrong with it, I just have better lavender blends through ScentSationals and Ten Digit Creations. I like my herbal soothing scents to pack a punch and this one is just too light.

Ten Digit Creations Berry Bellini
Scent Description: a cocktail blend of sweet raspberries, red currants, and tiny hints of blood orange, strawberry, peach, coconut, and pink sugar crystals
My Thoughts: Berry scents can go one of two ways for me. They're either too sweet or just right. This is the latter. This has a sharp tart berry note, some citrus, and great fizzy champagne note. I love those fizzy scents, and the tartness from the berries makes this perfect. Coconut is in the description, but I don't smell it. That's a plus for me since I don't care for coconut much. This is a fun festive scent for the holiday season or year round.

Happy Sunday!

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 11/22/15-11/29/15

I hope everyone had a great holiday week if you celebrated Thanksgiving. I had an almost perfect wax week the exception of one wax. I've been breaking out more of the holiday wax lately, but I think I'm still going to try to balance it out still. I don't want to burn out on holiday wax!
Ten Digit Creations Frosted Pumpkin
Scent Description: a warm, delicious recipe of pumpkin, spices, honey and maple topped with sugary vanilla frosting
My Experience: No, this wasn't the wax I didn't like this week. I'm not a bakery fan in the least, but I like Frosted Pumpkin. I melted this one while Thanksgiving dinner was cooking, so I think that's why this one worked for me. I find this is heavy on the pumpkin spice element with a hint of sugary notes from the frosting. It's sweet, but it's balanced out well with the spice and pumpkin. It really smells delicious and I oddly didn't tire of this one like I do with practically other bakery scent after an hour.

Yankee Candle Red Apple Wreath
Scent Description: This inviting blend with the merry aroma of sweet apples, cinnamon, walnuts and maple sets the stage for a heartwarming homecoming.
My Experience. This one was absolutely worthless. The lovely scent description is accurate when you smell it on cold or if your nose is practically touching the hot wax when it's warmed, otherwise this had absolutely not throw whatsoever. I couldn't smell this at all when warmed.

Ten Digit Creations Bedtime Bath
Scent Description: soothing and calming baby lotion scent with added notes of lavender and chamomile
My Experience: This smells just like the Johnson & Johnson lotion. I actually use this lotion on myself many nights and I'm not a baby. I used this one in my bedroom and loved it. It has that soft lavender, not an herbal lavender (I love that type too) mixed with chamomile. This is scent is soft, soothing, and perfect for bedtime. This one had a great throw to that lasted for several hours. I had this melting in my bedroom probably for 4-5 hours a night over 6 nights, so that's around 30 hours of scent! Love this one! I just ordered it in TDC's room spray too.

Ten Digit Creations Bayberry Forest
Scent Description: fir, cedar, and moss accompanied by notes of clove, black currant, plum, bergamot, and musk
My Experience: This is an excellent Christmas greenery/tree scent if you're not a fan of some of those heavier and earthier Christmas tree scents. This is bright, crisp, and fragrant. I think the blend with those fruity notes and the bergamot really brightens up those heavier tree notes. It's an excellent blend of notes that's festive and perfect for this time of year.

Better Homes & Gardens Iced Winter Cranberry
Scent Description: N/A
My Experience: Excellent cranberry scent. I would say this is 70% tart cranberry and 30% sweet cranberry. The tartness is what makes this scent for me as you know I don't like overly sweet scents. This is perfect. It almost smells like wine to me. This scent has some depth and richness to it that I love. It has a strong throw, but its not unpleasant or overpowering. This scent is very natural and I don't find it artificial. I'm pretty sure this is a dead on dupe for Bath & Body Works Frosted Cranberry too!

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 11/15/15-11/22/15

I have had some iffy wax weeks lately, so this week I did stick to some familiar favorites. I already reviewed those on here, but I did throw some newbies into the mix. I'd say for the most part I had positive results with the exception of one.
Yankee Candle Soft Blanket
Scent Description: a lullaby of clean citrus, luxurious vanilla and warm amber
My Thoughts: This is  a definite clean laundry scent, but whoa this baby is strong. I used this in my bedroom which is a smaller space and it was so overpowering it gave me a headache. I do like the scent itself, but I should of only used half the tart or used this in a much larger space. I have one of the tarts sitting next to me it's packaging as I'm writing this and it's strong unmelted and in plastic wrap! I should of realized that before I melted it!

Ten Digit Creations Peach Bellini
Scent Description: a bubbly champagne with white peaches and oranges
My Thoughts: I was skeptical on this one. I received this one as free sample with an order. Peach scents can either be too strong or artificial for my taste and this was neither. I loved Peach Bellini! This had a very natural fresh peach scent, mixed with citrus and some bubbly notes. You know me, I love bubbly scents. This wasn't sugary or sickly sweet like many scents like this can get. This was very fresh and crisp.

Ten Digit Creations Lavender Sage
Scent Description: fresh lavender complimented by herbal sage
My Thoughts: I love herbal/soothing/spa scents and this exactly that. This is straight up lavender and sage, no other notes or frills. I melted this in my bedroom and it was perfect. This is an excellent soothing and stress relieving scent. It's very herbal and natural smelling. It has a nice throw that wasn't overpowering. This is a winner for me.

Better Homes and Gardens Simmering Apple Cider
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: You know Martinelli's Sparkling Apple Cider you used to drink as a kid on New Year's Eve (I still drink it then!)? This is exactly what Simmering Apple Cider smells like, it should be renamed Sparkling Apple Cider. This has those bubbly and fizzy notes that I love paired with that cozy apple cider scent. This one isn't sugary or too sweet at all. It has that fresh and natural apple scent. This is the perfect festive, cozy, and crisp scent rolled into one. This one would be great for Thanksgiving and Christmas time.

Happy Sunday!

Weekly Wax Wrap Up 11/8/15-11/15/15

This was an interesting week of wax for me. This was a week of some very high highs and some very low lows in regards to scents. The more try new scents the more I'm able to hone in on what type of scents are really my favorites. It's interesting how my preferences have evolved over the past few months.

Let's get started!
Better  Homes and Gardens Twinkling Holiday Lights
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I liked this on cold sniff. This a blend of Christmas tree and mint. That being said, when I melted this...I just can't. This one was so pungently strong. These are two very intense notes competing with each other, and I found it so overpowering it was nauseating. I was nauseated hours after I turned this off from that scent. This really needed some crisp airy notes to mellow this one out. The Christmas tree note in this one is very earthy and heavy, and I think a prefer a brighter and fresher Christmas tree note.

Yankee Candle Magical Frosted Forest
Scent Description: An enchanted place where icy breezes playfully dance through tall, snow-coated pines.
My Thoughts: This is a completely different story than BHG Twinkling Holiday Lights. This has that crisp snowy air note paired with a very bright Christmas tree note. This one is refreshing and festive without being overpowering. This is probably my favorite Christmas tree scent that I own.

Ten Digit Creations Ginger Ale
Scent Description: sparkling ginger ale soda
My Thoughts: I love sparkling/effervescent/bubbly scents. This smells like ginger ale, but a very sickeningly sweet ginger ale. This was way too sugary for me. I feel like it was missing some of that spicy/bitter quality of ginger that could of perfected this scent. I'm not going to give up on it though. I really love that fizzy quality it has, and I'm going to try mixing it with a straight up tart cranberry melt I have and see if it tones it down a bit.

Fairy Hill Candles Ocean Blossom
Scent Description: Fresh sea air with a hint of floral
My Thoughts: I'm in love. Ocean Blossom is that perfect blend of ocean, sea air, and clean laundry. It really is absolute perfection for me. If you've ever visited quaint seaside town, and you open your window first thing in the morning you smell Ocean Blossom. It's both fresh and comforting. I need to stock up on this.

Ten Digit Creations Sea Salt & Rice Flower
Scent Description: sea salt mingled with creamy rice flower, citrus peel, and cotton blossoms
My Thoughts: I like this scent, but I don't love it. It's heavy on those fresh laundry/floral type notes which I do like, but I think it could of used a bit more of sea salt and some watery notes in it to make it something from a like to a love. I don't have any problems with it though.

Chesapeake Bay Candle Eucalyptus
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I was afraid I would have the same experience with no throw like I did with the Lavender, but I didn't. This one actually had a strong throw. This had a very fresh and green scent with some floral qualities. I didn't get any of that strong menthol or minty qualities some people expect from eucalyptus. This was very straight up fresh and green. I liked it a lot.

Happy Sunday!

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 10/25/15-11/1/15

I melted all new to me wax this week. This was another hit or miss week. Thankfully, the hits were really good and the misses weren't terrible, so overall the experience was more positive than negative.

Let's get started!

ScentSationals Berry Pickin' (Fresh Strawberry & Sweet Blueberry)
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I love berry scents, and this one was alright. What I was missing though from this scent was the tartness and tang you get from both of these berries. This was straight up sweet. I like the sweet and sour combo, and I just did not get the sour notes at all. It wasn't bad, but I can only handle straight up sweet scents for so long.

ScentSationals Eucalyptus & Sea Salt
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: This is fan-freaking-tastic. I must admit eucalyptus and sea salt individually are some of my favorite scents, so both of them combined are magic. The sea salt note is refreshing, clean, and watery and it has a hint of eucalyptus in the background. The eucalyptus adds a touch of sophisticated minty freshness to the mix, but is not at all overpowering . I'd say this is 80% sea salt and 20% eucalyptus. It's a beautiful spa-like fragrance that I'm gushing over right now!

Yankee Candle Winter Glow
Scent Description: A crisp scent of frosted leaves on snow-covered trees in the cool air, all warmed by golden amber sun rays.
My Thoughts: When I smelled this on cold I got some really nice clean airy fresh notes that did remind me of snow. When I melted this is just smelled like a straight up generic laundry/cotton scent. I did not get any of that crisp outdoorsy scent I got on cold sniff. Plus, the scent throw was so light. This was so boring and generic I tossed it after only melted it for an hour. There is nothing special about this one. Yawn.

Better Homes & Gardens Tranquil Garden Spa
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: This is a scent I bypassed in the store multiple times. I liked it, but it didn't do enough for me to buy it. This past week though, my nose seemed to take a liking to it so I picked it up. I really love this one. It has a lot of watery notes to it. I definitely detect cucumber in this and maybe a very light floral. I'm not into florals, but if they're subtle I think they sometimes add a nice element to a scent. This is another that falls into the clean/fresh/spa category. If you haven't noticed yet these are my favorite types of scents. It's not generic or boring like Winter Glow at all though. It's refreshing and very nice.

Ten Digit Creations Lemon Slices
Scent Description: strong aroma of freshly cut lemons
My Thoughts: I adored this scent when I first started melting it. Along with berry scents, I like citrus scents too because they have that great sweet/tart combo. Lemon Slices was exactly that, it was well rounded tart/sweet scent. This sucker is strong and a perfect clean scent. What I like about TDC scents is they last a long time. I had this melting 10+ hours. I will say after that 8-10hr mark that tartness faded away and all I got was sweet. I'd say 8-10 hours is a good run though, but I couldn't melt it more after that, it was just too sweet! Sweet/sour I can do, but straight up sweet a little goes a long way.

I think overall it was good week. I didn't have anything terrible, and TDC Lemon Slices really was mostly good until it melted too long. ScentSationals Eucalyptus & Sea Salt was a clear winner this week and I just need to get my hands on more. A friend sent it to me and I can't find it in my Walmart, so I'm going to either have to order more or have my friend pick me more up!

Happy Sunday!
