Reader Manis of the Week:
Name: Natalie
Location: Ontario, Canada
Manicure Description: My nails are shorties right now, but I like the look of darker polishes on shorties, so I decided to use two coats of Essie Recessionista as the main colour (topped with Cult Nails Wicked Fast) and two coats of OPI Stay the Night as the accent on my middle fingers and thumbs. My photo doesn't really capture the intense sparkle of the fuchsia glitter through the black 'sand' in Stay the Night and the finish is not as gritty as I originally thought. I definitely recommend this polish for those who want an edgy, but pretty polish.
Favorite Polishes: Now, how can a girl (or guy) possibly do that? :) If I had to choose, I would say: Glitter Gal Teal Blue Holo, OPI Tickle My France-y, Essie Where's My Chauffeur, Pretty and Polished Cheer Camp, RBL No More War, China Glaze Ruby Pumps.

Spontaneous Saturday: My Blogger Nightmare
Dream start:
I dreamed I was going to some type of beauty blogger convention. The convention had a ton of different seminars and such, and I wanted to go to a few. The problem was they were run by all of my current friends and past friends and for some reason they all HATED me. I kept asking them " What did I do wrong?". and they all just ignored me and blew me off. I had no idea why they hated me?
Then it turns out that one of my closest blogger friends was hosting one of the seminars, and she invited me. I went into this room, and it wasn't like a typical meeting space. The space was huge it was around the size of an Wal-Mart but empty. The room didn't have rows of chairs like a normal meeting space, instead the entire room was outlined with giant booth. There were probably like 500+ people there.
The first thing I did was spot my friend who invited me, and she was really rude to me. She pretended she didn't know me, and laughed in my face. The seminar thing started, and we all were supposed to introduce ourselves and talk about our blogs. When it was my turn, maybe 20 people were seated listening, and all the other 400 or so people were fooling around, talking, and some girls were fighting. As I started talking about my blog everyone was being so loud that 20 people listening couldn't hear me. I kept screaming at people to be quiet, but they all just laughed at me or booed me. My friend who invited me booed me. I was furious! When I was done speaking I wanted to try to find my friend and give her a piece of my mind, but I couldn't find her. When I asked around looking for her everyone just looked at me in laughed or told me to get away from them. Then I woke up...
Dream end:
I really do believe emotions and actions and dreams do reveal a lot about feelings we are dealing with in the waking life. When I looked up the rejection in regards to dreams it said something along the lines of me lacking self worth. It also suggested that I might be lacking assertiveness and being overly accommodating to people.
The latter line struck a cord with me on why I probably had this dream. I've been dealing with for the past month a swapping situation where I believe I have been swaplifted. Unlike, other people who just ignore you after awhile this person is stringing me along with excuses and admittedly has lied to me. They have also done something passive aggressive too. In turn, I have probably been overly accommodating sympathetic, and allowed them to run the show. I have not been assertive and called them out because I've seen them be passive aggressive before. I am truly scared they will backlash on me and ruin my reputation. I have all the proof that would prove my side of the story correct, and I'm still scared. That being said, I don't want to get into more details of this swap situation. I have posted my full experience on one of those swap groups on Facebook. I'm not out to publicly humiliate someone on my blog, despite the fact they have screwed me over.
I'm sure this is why I had this dream. I take so much pride in my honesty with my readers, and it would absolutely crush me if someone tried to slander me. The idea like my dream of everyone hating me, blowing me of, and ignoring me as person and as a blogger would be devastating to me. It's just my worst fears realized in dream form.
Yikes!

L'Oreal Not a Cloud in Sight
I am really sensitive to the weather. The past week or so we've been having on and off dreary and gloomy days here, and it really messes with my mood. I need the sun! The gloomy skies depress me and just make me feel off? Thankfully, this morning the sun was shining. This was a bad segue into this nail polish. Yes, so I spotted this new L'Oreal polish called Not a Cloud in Sight in the TRENDsetter collection. I liked the name of the color because cloudless days and sunny skies have been what I've been craving! No clouds= sun, assuming it's day time, which means I will be happy because it's not cloudy. This sounded so much better in my head!
Not a Cloud in Sight
Not a Cloud in Sight is what I'd call as a bright (not neon) aquamarine creme.
If you all were to ask what my favorite color is, it would be this one. This is not necessarily my favorite nail polish color, but in general I just love this color. This color is that perfect bright tropical ocean blue-green that makes you wish you were snorkeling on a coral reef or laying on the beach. Did I tell you my parents in Jamaica right now? Yes, I'm a little envious!
I love this color. This polish I found to be pigmented and the formula was nice. The brush, however, did not make application easy for me. I've had this problem with L'Oreal brushes in the past, but it hasn't stopped me from purchasing them. The brushes are wider and have a lot of bristles. When I apply the polish to my nail, the brush wants to go wider than my nail, so I don't always get the most even application. L'Oreal has been releasing some great polishes lately, so I'm ok with the extra fuss. If you're not a fan of a wider brush, you may have some issues with this one.
Happy Thursday!

Talk it Out Tuesday: I Love Blogging
I know many of the Talk it Out Tuesdays are of the serious variety. I also know many of the topics have revolved around some of the more challenging aspects of blogging. I realized I never really talked about the love I have for blogging and being a nail blogger. Below is a just a list of things I love about this whole blogger thing. This is no particular order.
1. I get to share all my nail polish pretties with people who appreciate it just as much as I do. The people I'm around in my daily life are not nail polish junkies. They couldn't tell a red coral from a pink coral or a navy blue from a blurple. I find it so fun to be able to share my nail polishes with people who know what I'm talking about, and why nail polish is so awesome!
2. I find blogging helps give me an identity. My life isn't all about being a blogger, I do have other goals for myself. That being said, blogging is something I am passionate about and gives me purpose in my life. I do not make a dime from blogging, but in ways I see it as somewhat of a career. In April, Imperfectly Painted will be 3 years old. This is more than just a side hobby, it's a big part of who I am.
3. The connections I've made through blogging have been amazing. I think on just a blogging level, the connections I've made have helped really establish myself. The Beauty Bloggers of Central Florida has not only created friendships for me, but has helped me realize the value of bloggers. Bloggers are really the voice of all the consumers out there. I've learned that many cosmetic companies and brands appreciate the role of a blogger. It feels good to know that what I have to say is valued.
4. Respect. This is huge for me. I get emails every so often from readers telling me how much they appreciate my honesty and authenticity as not only a blogger, but as a person. These are the types of compliments that validate everything I'm doing as a blogger. The fact that you all put your trust in feels good! Thank you!
5. The other type of connections. I must say even more meaningful than blogger to blogger connections or blogger to company connections are the connections I've made with my readers. I have shared many personal challenges and insecurities with you all, and this opened doors for many of us to be able to connect on an emotional level. I've found I really have a bond with you all which means a lot to me.
I know there are more, but these are the major things for me!
If you're a blogger, why do you love blogging?
If you're not a blogger, what do you love about nail blogs and bloggers?
Happy Tuesday!

Nicole by OPI One Big Happy Fame-ily
-rant- Let me start off with this. I seriously cannot stand the Kardashians, well more so I can't stand Kim. It seriously hurts my brain to think about her. I do not care about her relationships. I do not care about her pregnancy. I think she consumes too much space in our universe that should be used for more intellectual, serious, or meaningful things. If you are someone who idolizes Kim Kardashian, you and I probably wouldn't be friends. The conflicting thing about this Kardashian thing, is NOPI came out with some great colors with their line. Kardashian or not, I will always love a great polish even if it hurts my ego a bit to have it -rant over-
Nicole by OPI One Big Happy Fame-ily
One Big Happy Fame-ily is a soft lavender with a silver/lavender shimmer.
This polish is gorgeous. Lilacs/Lavender shades are some of my absolute favorite colors come this time of year and heading into spring. The best part about this one is the shimmer. This is not a typical finish I've seen in many polishes in this color family. The color is soft, airy, and feminine. I love it. I'll just ignore the name!
