Silly Bee's Chickadees By A Lady Collection

*The following products were provided to me in exchange for my honest review.

I have for you today a lovely new collection by Silly Bee's Chickadees. This collection is called By A Lady and is inspired by the author, Jane Austen. This collection features three polishes that represent Austen's heroines in Sense & Sensibility, Emma, and Pride & Prejudice. These polishes are made to have a satin/matte finish, but wear beautifully with a top coat too.

Before we start, let me just say, AMAZING inspiration for a nail polish collection. I'm very excited about this!

Sass & Sensibility
Sass & Sensibility with top coat
Sass & Sensibility is a muted violet crelly with sparse micro holographic glitter.

Emmalicious
Emmalicious with top coat
Emmalicious is a muted cornflower blue crelly with sparse micro holographic glitter.

Pride & Preciousness
Pride & Preciousness with top coat
Pride & Preciousness is a muted rose crelly with sparse micro holographic glitter.

Color: This collection color wise is perfection. When I think of Jane Austen and this time period these are exactly the colors I imagine. I love the muted softness of these shades. They're eye catching colors, but they're feminine and dainty at the same time. The added sparkle blends in these colors beautifully and makes these colors come alive.

Formula: Excellent formula. These were buttery and a dream to apply. I used 2 coats on each, and did not experience any issues. I like the satin finish of these, but I'm a gloss girl, so I prefer them with top coat.

Price: The full size bottles of the By A Lady collection are $10.00 each. You can also buy a mini trio set for $15.00. This collection can be purchased on Silly Bee's Chickadees etsy site.

Overall: I absolutely adore this collection. This is one of those collections that really blew me away. These are very simple colors, but they're done just perfectly. The colors reflect the inspiration, are well thought out, and executed well. I'm so pleased! By A Lady collection makes me smile!

KBShimmer Late Summer Release (6 of 12)

*The following products were sent to me in exchange for my honest review.

Today, I have for you the latter half of the KBShimmer summer collection. This collection is a mix of glitter toppers, bright cremes, jelly glitters, and a holo. I have 6 out of the 12 to share with you today. You can view the rest on the KBShimmer website.

Happily Ever Aster over KBShimmer Eclipse
Happily Ever Aster is a mix of periwinkle, light aqua blue, purple, lavender, holographic, and white glitters in a clear base.

Peak My Interest
Peak My Interest is a coral-pink jelly base with white, pink, aqua, and periwinkle hex and triangle glitters.

Sweet Wave over KBShimmer Honeydew List
Sweet Wave is a mix of yellow, periwinkle, mint, white, and coral matte glitters in a clear base.

Scribble Me This over KBShimmer My Life's Porpoise
Scribble Me This is a mix of black, neon pink, neon green, purple, and  aqua blue, hex, triangle, circle, and star glitters in a clear base.

Red, White, & Blue-tiful over KBShimmer Eclipse
Red, White, & Blue-tiful is a mix of red, silver, and blue stars and mini hex glitters in a clear base.

Look High and Holo
Look High and Holo is a raspberry jelly base with multi-colored holo hexes and squares.

Colors: This is an exciting and fun mix of polishes by KBShimmer. The glitter toppers are as always creative and fun. The jelly glitters are bright and summery. These are standout colors I'm excited to have in my collection.

Formulas: The jelly glitters had a smooth and easy to apply formula. I used 3 coats each on those. Happily Ever Aster was a breeze to apply. Sweet Wave, Scribble Me This, and Red White & Blue-tiful needed extra attention to detail. These are better suited toward dabbing and more careful application.  While I did not struggle at all to get the glitter out of the bottle, they did want to stick together and required to be placed on the nail rather than brushed on if that makes sense. I used 2 coats over a base with all glitter toppers.

Price: The polishes listed above are all $8.75. The two cremes in this collection are $7.50. You can purchase these now on KBShimmer's website.

Overall: I absolutely love this collection. I'm always impressed with KBShimmer's creations and like all the others I'm not disappointed. This collection was not as user friendly due to the larger glitters in some of the glitter toppers though. This isn't a fault of the formulation, it's just the nature of larger glitters. Personally, I'm someone who prefers and is more comfortable with quick and easy brush on application. Dabbing glitters isn't something I've perfected. There are people who don't mind this at all, and are comfortable with this type of application though. Your experience may vary, but these shouldn't be passed over because of that. The glitter toppers are still excellent and high quality, they just require more effort to apply.

Hard Candy Soda Pop

Happy 4th July to all my American readers!

This is one of my favorite holiday  for reasons I'll spare you this year. I've explained it on my blog every other year! Long-story-short, family friends had a pretty awesome 4th of July party every year I was growing up, so it left great memories!

I have a 4th of July themed polish to share with you today by Hard Candy

Soda Pop over China Glaze Bahamian Escape
Soda Pop is a mix of matte red, white, and blue glitters in a clear base.

Color: This one is pretty straight forward. I love that these are matte glitters. I'm used to many red, white, and blue glitter polishes being metallic.

Formula: Great formula. This is definitely made ot be a topper. I used 2 coats above.

Price: I bought this at Walmart for $4.

Overall: Awesome little patriotic glitter topper! No complaints here.

Throwback Thursday: Color Club Wild Cactus

I have been reaching for all sorts of a bright and pastel cremes this summer. I have been revisiting a lot of older polishes lately, and came across this Color Club beauty! I think bright green cremes have been a bit left out this summer. 2012-2013 bright greens were everywhere. I missed them.

Wild Cactus
Wild Cactus is a medium bright teal-green creme.

Collection: Fiesta Spring 2013

Color: This color is a little darker than my camera captured, but it has a beautiful brightness to it that makes it stand out as a spring/summer shade! Greens can be funky on my skin tone, but this one is friendly!

Formula: Meh. As much as I love this color, the formula on this was really wonky to me. I found it applied streaky and didn't level very nicely. It was far from the worst formula, but it was far from a great formula too.

Price: A quick Google search will give you plenty of results to find this in the $4-$7 range.

Overall: Beautiful bright green polish that I love except when it comes to the formula. I'm on the fence, but if you love greens, this is a nice one to have.

Way-Cool Mani Wednesday: Aqua & Champagne

I've said this probably hundred times on this blog, but my all time favorite color combinations have to be cool colors with gold/bronze/copper. I think a common favorite combo among many of us aqua/mint paired with gold. It is such a beautiful combination of light and airy with rich and opulent. Win.

Here is a recent mani I did featuring this combination

Polishes Used: Cult Nails Manipulative and Zoya Tomoko

Love these colors together!

Happy Wednesday!
