Way-Cool Mani Wednesday: Purple Gems

I decided to break out 2 really spectacular purple polishes for my fun mani this week. One of these two polishes hasn't seen the light of day in a very long time. The polish is so rare I hardly use it. What's worse is I have 2 bottles of it, so I'm going to start using it more. What's the polish? Cult Nails Unicorn Puke. Unicorn Puke definitely doesn't need to left in a Helmer to collect dust.

JulieG Fairytale

I've fallen in love with JulieG nail polishes. They're made by Jesse's Girl cosmetics. I picked up a bunch when I was in California at Rite Aid stores, and I'm incredibly impressed with all of them.

I love everything about JulieG. The bottles are super cute, the color selection is vast, the prices are very affordable, but what stands out to me the most is the SUPERB formula. I bought a hand full of pastel creme shades this summer. These have hands down the best formula I've ever tried in pastel cremes when it comes to any mainstream brand, drugstore brand, and I'd even say high end brand from the ones I've tried. Floored. Amazing. Love. I have one of those beauties to share with you today.

Fairytale
Fairytale is a pastel lavender creme.

Color: This is a soft lavender creme. I love shades like this, and this type of shade is a staple in any nail collection. No, it's not original, but when I get into formulation I'll tell you why this is the best.

Formula: Out of this world formula. I used 2 coats above. This applied smoothly, opaquely, and so easily. Pastels can be streaky, overly thick, too sheer, not leveling, chalky, and so forth. I've experienced all of those problems from Sinful Colors to Deborah Lippmann with pastel cremes. JulieG's are pastel perfection. I experienced none of those typical issues with this shade.

Price: This is $3.99 at Rite Aid. You can also purchase it online on the Jesse's Girl Cosmetics website.

Overall: This polish floored me. I use that term rarely. I am so impressed with this brand on every level. I recently did purge of my nail polish collection, and put all of my other lavender cremes like this in the purge box. JulieG Fairytale has me covered on my pastel lavender cremes! That's how good this is! Fairytale is where it's at! Must have!

OPI My Dogsled Is A Hybrid

I have a color to share with you today from OPI's fall Nordic collection. What I liked about this collection is that it featured some non-traditional fall colors. As I've said before I can be pretty apathetic when it comes to mainstream fall collections, but this year the mainstream brands have been impressing me. This color from OPI was one that did.

My Dogsled is a Hybrid
My Dogsled is a Hybrid is a muted aqua creme.

Color: I'm really struggling with describing this color. People have described this as a mint, jade, and sea foam color. This color is really retro to me. It reminds me of this window treatment my grandparent's had in their house that must of been from the 70's. I'm channeling Scooby Doo Mystery Machine here. That being said, I LOVE this color. I love muted quality of it, and it's really unique when it comes to other aqua creme polishes.

Formula: OPI has really let me down recently with their formula. I always find many of their polishes streaky and uneven. When I applied  MyDogsled is a Hybrid my first thought was "this is what I'm talking about!". The formula was excellent. Perfect easy breezy 2 coater formula.

Price: I purchased this at Sally's in the $9-$9.50 range.

Overall: I love My Dogsled is a Hybrid. The color is great, and very unexpected for fall. Even better, the color is unique. I love the retro feel it gives off to me personally. The formula is also great. All kinds of wins with this polish.

Zoya Sansa

I'm typically pretty apathetic when it comes to fall nail polish collections. They seem to always be the same variations of vamps and muted creams. Yawn. Thankfully, Zoya surprised me this fall with their Ignite collection, full of beautiful jewel-toned metallic shimmers. I purchased all but one of the polishes in that collection, and I have one of those to share with you today.

Sansa
Sansa is a deep eggplant base chalked full of golden sparkle/shimmer.

Color: The rich eggplant color is gorgeous and rich, and the glass fleck/sparkle/shimmer is icing on the cake. Sansa is beautiful!

Formula: Excellent 2 coat buttery formula.

Price: This is $9 on the Zoya website.

Overall: Is this is shimmer, glitter, or sparkle? This is the aspect of nail polish reviewing that never ceases to stump me. To me, this resembles a glass fleck glitter. I say a glass fleck glitter is not quite a glitter, but is sparser than shimmer with defined particles. Did that even make sense. Who knows what it is, but what I do know is Sansa is spectacular.

Throwback Thursday: Colors by Llarowe Little Boy Blue

This next CbL polish doesn't really even qualify for my Throwback Thursday, since it's not a year old yet. I can't find it available for purchase anywhere though, but I have the swatch in my swatch folder ready and waiting. It's going to have to go into the Throwback Thursday vault, and be one of those few polishes I post that must be VHTF at this point? Please someone correct me if I'm wrong?

Little Boy Blue
Little Boy Blue is a sky blue with golden and pink shimmer.

Collection: Colors by Llarowe Spring 2014

Color: This color is drop dead gorgeous. This is one of those super special colors that I come across that I know is going to win my heart. The blue is beautiful, but that golden and pink shimmer is what makes this polish extraordinary.

Formula: This formula was easy to apply and use. I used 3 coats above.

Price: I paid $12.00 for this on the Llarowe site when it released. You cannot purchase this now. I don't follow indies closely, so I'm not sure if this discontinued entirely or if it will eventually be restocked? Beats me. I'm sorry :(.

Overall: Beautifully stunning nail polish. This is definite must have and contender for my Top 25 of 2014. Amazing.
