Bohemian Polish Flamingo

I have a new to me indie brand polish to share with you today. I become acquainted with Bohemian Polish through a Facebook group. They had a great Black Friday sale which included a 10% donation to the Southern Poverty Law Center which had me on board right away. I picked up two of the shades from the new Vegas at Night Collection and I have one of those to share with you today.

Flamingo
Flamingo is a blackened pinky-purple shimmer.

Collection: Vegas At Night 2016

Color: I don't see colors made like this anymore which is why I needed to have it. Blackened tones with intense shimmers are not a current trend in polish, but they used to be more prevalent. I loved colors like this and I love this one. I especially love this pinky-purple shade it's even more rare to find interesting pink shades these days.

Formula: This had a nice and easy to use formula. I used 3 coats above.

Price: This is $10 on Bohemian Polish's etsy site.

Overall: There are so many elements about this polish I love and that make it unique. It's really different than anything else being offered right now and I love the color. This is a definitely winning and amazing polish in my book!

Zoya Marnie

I took advantage of Zoya's 70% off Black Friday sale and recently received my order. You'll probably be seeing a handful of Zoya posts this week and next! When I was building a shopping list with Zoya I had to look into their nudes and neutral territory because I'm still into those colors. This color caught my eye and it's very different from other neutral tones I own.

Marnie
Marnie is a muted warm plum creme.

Collection: Zoya Naturel 2 Collection 2014

Color: This a deep shade for a neutral tone which makes it unique to my collection. I really love this color. It's rich while being soft at the same time. It's a very wearable color that would go with everything and give you a clean look.

Formula: This had a great easy to use formula. I used 2 coats above.

Price: This is $10 on the Zoya website.

Overall: I'm in love with this color. It's sometimes those simple colors these days that make me swoon. It's a great everyday shade I don't see how you could go wrong with. I don't have much else to add other than I'm happy I purchased it!

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 12/4/16-12/11/16

It's been a pretty good wax week especially considering last week wasn't so great. I'm starting to panic now because I was trying to hold off on burning too many holiday waxes so I wouldn't get burned out, but Christmas is in 2 weeks and I still have plenty I haven't reviewed! I need to get my wax booty in gear!
Scentsy World Traveler
Scent Description: Blackberry, dark pomegranate, and oak bark.
My Thoughts: I love scents like these! This is a very elegant and upscale blend of tart berries and woodsy notes. It's a very sophisticated scent. It smells like a famous old library or something. I know that's a terrible description, but that's what it makes me think of most. My only complaint is that the throw isn't very strong which is unfortunate.
Scent Throw: 2.5/5
Where To Buy: Scentsy

Ten Digit Creations Holiday (Ralph Lauren Type)
Scent Description: blend of rich and sparkling fruit notes combine with fir, cedar, juniper and pine to create a sophisticated holiday scent
My Thoughts: I don't know the Ralph Lauren fragrance so I can't compare, but what this does remind of is Bath & Body Work's Winter. This is a citrus and smoky outdoorsy scent. It's fresh scent while still being cozy. I really enjoyed it. This also had a great throw.
Scent Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Better Homes & Gardens First Winter Blizzard
Scent Description: Crushed peppermint leaf, smoked birch wood, fragrant pine and emerald holly leaf glisten with an icy, ozone freshness touched by mistletoe greens
My Thoughts: This scent is so unique and I love it! This has a fresh soapy scent to it, but with this icy and air coolness thrown in there. I'm not sure I'm detecting mint per say, but definitely something that brightens and cools this scent. It's really hard to describe because it's so unique. I don't own anything remotely close to this scent. The throw could be a smidge stronger, but I love it otherwise.
Scent Throw: 3/5
Where To Buy: Walmart

Butterfly Lane Appalachian Winter
Scent Description: Top notes of bergamot, orange, and lemon. Base notes of patchouli, vetiver, and tonka beans. This is a very unique outdoorsy scent.
My Thoughts: This was gifted to me by my friend Julie over at The Redolent Mermaid. This is another unique scent, but it has some familiarity to it as well. I'd call it a winter airy floral scent. The patchouli is strong in this which is where the familiarity comes from, but the other notes make it unique. I love the added notes of citrus and there is something else in there that brightens and freshens this scent up. Another great one!
Scent Throw: 3.5/5

Sinful Colors Sleigh Me

It's getting harder and harder to find seasonal nail polish in the drugstore. I know I say this often, but it's the truth and it stinks! I did find Sinful Colors Holiday 2016 collection recently and out of the several offerings, there was only one that stood out to me as something different. Whomp whomp whomp. This is getting old! I would like some cool drugstore stuff again, please.

Sleigh Me
Sleigh Me is a medium plum jelly base with purple-pink glass fleck glitter.

Collection: Sinful Colors Holiday 2016

Color: This is disappointing. I do like the color of this itself. It's a pretty red-toned purple shade, but that glass fleck glitter is just drowning in that base color. It's hard to see and it really needed to be amped up to make an impact. I do feel a lot of the issues with this polish are due to the formula.

Formula: Weird formula. It seems to me like the purple pigment and base are not well mixed. They glass fleck glitter either there isn't enough of it, or it's just not well blended either. Something is just funky in the formula where nothing is combined properly. It applied well enough, but it was sheer in some spots even after 3 coats.

Price: This was $1.99 at Walgreens.

Overall: This is a polish fail to me. This had all the elements of making a unique and interesting polish, but it isn't well made. The ingredients in this polish just don't mesh together well, and it's obvious. This seems like shotty work for Sinful Colors. Despite their affordable price they're certainly capable of a better quality product.

Wet n' Wild Private Viewing

If you've been following my blog over the past few months you know I've been on a nude/neutral polish kick. This really isn't a shade range I've really explored much in my now 8 years of being a polish addict. I've always been more interested in more vibrant colors and I've found it difficult to find nude polish colors that suit my skin tone. I've taken it upon myself the past few months to start experimenting with nude colors and shopping the drugstore to try ones out I've overlooked for a long time. I came across this Wet n' Wild shade and decided to give it a go.

Private Viewing
Private Viewing is a medium peachy nude with a subtle shimmer.

Collection: Wet n' Wild MegaLast Core

Color: This is right on the cusp of being a bit too warm-toned for me. It does blend into my skin tone well, but it's a bit too peachy for my taste. It is the type of color that would be easy to throw on in a pinch if I'm looking to just give my nails a clean look.  It's not my favorite nude polish shade, but I don't completely dislike it either.

Formula: The formula was OK. I felt it needed 3 coats to have a clean and uniform look. It didn't apply nicely, but it is sheerer.

Price: This is around $1.99 at drugstores.

Overall: I'm on the fence on this color. It's not my favorite, but I do think it looks alright on me. The formula is OK, but I feel it doesn't look nice with under 3 coats. Meh is my overall thoughts on this polish.
