I'm starting to think that Cover Girl polishes are very underrated. I know they are not a brand that even pops into your head when you think of drugstore nail polish. They don't release seasonal collections and they're not the easiest polishes to find. However, I've always had good experiences with their polishes and they sell for a reasonable price. They have a selection of standard colors, but they also have a few standout colors and amazing glittery top coats. I don't expect they'll ever be a brand we'll be reaching for, but it's a good brand of polish that I recommend. I think it retails around the same as Maybelline, but less than Revlon around the $3-$3.50 range.
Fuchsia Fatale
A few weeks ago I was looking for a the perfect plum/berry creme. I was at Target and couldn't find this shade at price I wanted to pay within other brands and then I spotted this one. This went on smoothly with 2-3 coats and held up nicely! I really like this type of shade. I think it would fit into any season as it's not too bright nor is it too dark. It's a great type of shade to have whether it be from Cover Girl, or another brand. :)

Hard Candy Hot Lava
Before I get into today's post I'm going to do something out of the ordinary for me. I'm desperately looking for a bottle of OPI Pink Me I'm Good. It's on Ebay for $25 which is out of my price range for me. If anyone has an extra bottle they're willing to swap, sell, or some how share with me (I guess by pouring a bit in an empty bottle?) which I would pay or swap for, please let me know either in the comments below or by email. I'd be very grateful. This one has been on my wishlist for awhile and I can't find it at all :(. No pressure. I just figured I'd throw that out there before I may decide to spend the $25 on it.
Back on topic!!! Hard Candy Lava is the only polish I have from the Hard Candy line. The Wal-Mart closest to me doesn't have Hard Candy stuff and is nightmare to go to, and the other Wal-Mart is kind of out the way so I haven't been able to pick up more these. I love this color. I knew when I first started seeing swatches, it had to be mine! I took pictures of it at different angles because my camera hates red glitter polishes.
Lava
I'd say Lava is right on the money when it comes to comparing it to actual lava. Lava is a fiery red-orange packed with gold and red glass-fleck glittery foily goodness. I don't know if this really a glass-fleck, a glitter, or a foil. I think it's all three. I don't care really care, it's greatness! This color hot! I love it. :)
I need move my butt on to Wal-Mart because I need to get more of these. Do they even still have these at Wal-Mart? I'm so behind the times. I really want Mr. Wrong!
Happy Saturday!

Nicole by OPI Glitters
My best friend had sent me a Target giftcard for my birthday, so the other day I decided to use it. What else what I use it on other than nail polish? I think I am even more picky when I have a gift card. I want to spend it something I normally wouldn't buy, which lead to me these Nicole by OPI glitters. These were fall Target exclusives, so you can only get them at Target! :)
Sensational Scarlet
Sensation Scarlet is a magenta jelly packed with magenta and silver fine glitters with a slightly chunkier silver holographic glitter. This reminds me of the China Glaze glitters from last fall. The required a few coats of top coat to smooth out the grittiness. This is my favorite of the 3 I bought.
Such A Go-Glitter
This is Such A Go-Glitter layered over Ulta3 Hollywood. This a clear base glitter top coat with bright blue, gold, and silver littler holographic glitters. I don't think I made a good choice when layering it over this blue. The blue glitter was an exact match for the polish so it blends right into the nail. I actually really like how it looks but you can't see the blue glitter!
Pitch-Black Glimmer
This is Pitch-Black Glimmer layered over WnW Black Creme. It is a clear based glitter top coat packed with black, silver, and holographic glitters. This reminds me of Revlon glitter Galaxy minus the hexagonal glitters. I prefer this one the glitter is more compact and shows off better on the nail.
Overall, I really love these glitters. I was disappointed that Such A Go-Glitter and Pitch-Black Glimmer were glitter top coats rather than jam packed jelly-glitters, but performance wise I really do like them. These were $7.04 each which puts them high on the price for what I normally buy. I think if I was going in with my own money I would only purchased one or two of these on separate occasions to spread the money out! My favorites are definitely Sensational Scarlet and Pitch-Black Glimmer. I love how Such A Go-Glitter looks in the bottle, but I think I'd try to layer it over a different blue or even black because the glitter blended into the blue I used. I don't want to unfairly judge it! These are Target fall exclusives so if these look interesting to you, it's a a good idea to pick them up because they won't be there forever!
Happy Friday!

Essence No More Drama + Giveaway Winner!
Yep, that about says it all. I didn't plan on discussing this but it bothers me. I love blogging. It's fun, lighthearted, and something I hope my readers of this blog enjoy it as much as I do. It saddens and aggravates me that some people use blogging as a means to bully, target, and attack others. I don't see how those actions and behavior accomplish anything positive. I know that people only behave that way because of their own insecurities. If you were confident and secure with yourself you wouldn't feel a need to pick on others.
It's also frustrating because it's just nail polish. It's just blogging. Does it really need to be taken so seriously? I look at the world around us and there are far more serious things going on around us to put so much time and energy into something so silly. Oh well, that's the way the world works and that's the way some people are. It's an unfortunate side of blogging that I am not happy to witness, but there are people who act that way in all areas of life. That all being said NO MORE DRAMA! :P
I'm not talking about a specific instance above. It's an accumulation of different instances from different people I've seen not only yesterday but at other times in the past few months. I don't mind in the comments if we discuss this type of hate in general, but I'd appreciate if we keep names out of it.
No More Drama
No More drama is a pale lilac creme. It's a very pretty serene/peaceful color hence it's name. I love these light purple cremes. I've recently started to get into them. These polishes are $1 at Ulta. This required 3 coats. It was as bit streaky and had bald spots after 2, so 3 is probably your best bet with full coverage.
On a lighter note a winner as been selected for my Back to the Grind giveaway! Thanks to all who participated you can expect a 500 follower giveaway in October!

Color Club Pucci-licious
What is pucci? What is pucci-licious? I have no freaking clue. I looked up the word thinking I wasn't in on some inside joke that everyone seemed to know about except for me. However, the only results I came up with were with this polish? Is this just some made up name for giggles? Pucci-licious came in the Poptastic collection I got at Ross. The colors in this collection are neons, but this purple I wouldn't necessarily call it a neon.
Pucci-licious
Pucci-licious is a bright vibrant violet creme. This leans slightly on the blue side. The reason I don't think it is a neon is this isn't a blinding shade. It's not like the others in the collection or like the China Glaze Poolsides. I think of it as a punched up lavender. I love this shade. I'd have to say it's one of my favorite purples. I have soft spot for purples. It was my favorite color as a kid. This color reminds me of one of the font color choices on the old school AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) I used to use. The application of this was alright. I did have some bald spots as you can see, I could of used a 3 coat and it would be perfect. The finish on this without top coat reminds me of the Orly Plastix finishes. It's not my cup of tea, so I put top coat over it.
What are some of your favorite purples?
Happy Wednesday!
