Sea Lore Spring Seas Collection

* I received the following products for my honest review by Sea Lore.

I have a brand new spring collection by Sea Lore to review for you today. If you remember, I reviewed Sea Lore's Triton's Daughters collection last summer and absolutely loved them! Sea Lore creates some beautiful glitter/shimmer combinations that really stand out. The Spring Seas Collection did not disappoint. Note: I will be using Sea Lore's descriptions for these polishes.

 L-R:
Popping Parrotfish, Jumping Jellyfish, Springing Seahorse, Leaping Lyretail, and Dancing Discus

Popping Parrotfish
Popping Parrotfish is a light mint creme with a sparkling green base and a glitter rainbow! (3 coats on its own)

Jumping Jellyfish over Sinful Colors Fly Away
Jumping Jellyfish is a cerulean blue jelly with tiny light blue glitters and blue circle glitter. (2 coats over base)

Springing Seahorse over Sinful Colors Verbena
Springing Seahorse is a sparkling purple iridescent base with various shades of purple glitters. (2 coats over base)

Leaping Lyretail over Sinful Colors Folly
Leaping Lyretail is a hot pink jelly with white squares, yellow and pink hexes and hot pink circle glitter. (2 coats over base)

Dancing Discus over Color Club Blue-Ming
Dancing Discus is a sheer soft peach with a shifting blue violet glow. She has various sizes of iridescent hexes, blue green squares and tiny golden glitters. (2 coats over base).

Colors & Finishes: I love the variety of colors and finishes with this collection. My favorite thing Sea Lore does is add special shimmers or iridescence to the bases of the polishes that make them extra special. These polishes are far from flat and boring! I find it very hard to choose favorites here. I have to say Dancing Discus is really something unique and special though!

Formula: The formula on these was easy to work with and apply. I did not have any noticeable troubles with any of these. The glitters spread evenly and nicely. I think some of these I used over bases could be build up to wear opaque, but it is always my preference with sheerer bases to layer them.

Price: These polishes can be purchased for $10.00 for 15ml size or $5.50 for 7.5ml size on the Sea Lore website.

Overall: I really enjoyed this collection. The finishes are beautiful and unique, and the formula was on par too!

My Ratings: 4.5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

Cult Nails Ay Poppy!

Oranges are very hit or miss for me. I either love and orange polish or absolutely hate it. I think oranges are also harder to come by in nail polish world. The more I think about it, I don't really see orange often in collections. I usually see red-oranges or coral-oranges, but a true oranges--not so much. Cult Nails Ay Poppy! immediately stood out to me as a must-have orange when I saw the press releases of the In the Garden collection, and it turns out it is pretty awesome!

Ay Poppy!
Ay Poppy! is a bright saturated orange glossy creme. (Personally, I'd say this in between a creme and a jelly..so a crelly?)

Color: This is a very vibrant orange. The pigmentation is great, and I find this bright shade to be flattering. This isn't neon, but it is close.

Formula: Perfection. I never realize how average all my other polishes are until I use Cult Nails formula. The formula on this is smooth, easy to control, and even.

Price: I purchased this along with the rest of the In the Garden collection for the pre-order $40 price. Ay Poppy! is now available on its own for $12.00 on the Cult Nails website.

Overall: Gorgeous vivid orange with an excellent formula to match. No complains. I highly recommend this one! Price is on the higher end, but I think you get an excellent and top notch formula to reflect that price.

My Rating: 5 out of 5 Paint Splatters

Essie Come Here

I have to say Essie is probably my favorite brand right now. I don't think Essie has ever been my favorite brand, but lately they are knocking it out of the park with their collections. I am loving all of the great colors colors they're releasing! This next color is form the Resort 2013 collection.

Come Here
Come Here is a bright coral-red creme.

Color: Gorgeous pigmented bright shade coral red! I love colors like this! I wouldn't call this neon, but it is very close to one. I think this color is great, but I'm sure there are colors similar to this out there. I am very happy to have this though.

Formula: This was easy to use. I did not have any problems with application. I used 2 coats for the swatch above. I'd say the formula is pretty standard, it was good, not bad in the slightest, but not the best formula in the world either.

Price: I paid $8 for this one at Walgreens. $8 is starting to become pretty average nail polish price, so I'm ok with it. I wouldn't be sad if Essie's were $5 or $6 though!

Overall: Beautiful bright and lively color. I really enjoy this polish personally. If you're fan of bright warm shades I'd recommend this if you don't have something like it already.

Revlon Lagoon Afternoon

I have another polish from the Revlon LE Haute Tropics collection. I have big buyers remorse over this one. I saw the color and thought "Wow, what a cool looking blue!". Once I purchased it, the whole way back home in the car I was thinking "Darn it, I'm pretty sure I have a color like this!". As soon as I got home I knew exactly what color to compare it to, and I was right. I bought a dupe, and a really sucky dupe at that.

Lagoon Afternoon

Lagoon Afternoon is a bright blue creme.

This is basically the exact same color as China Glaze Hanging in the Balance.

Color: Nice pigmented blue! The color is nice, but it's not original.

Formula: HORRIBLE! The formula was thin, messy, and flooded my cuticles. This applied unevenly and streaky. Yuck. Terrible.

Price: I don't remember exactly, but I think I paid around $5 for this at Walgreens.

Overall: Pass on this one. If you want a color like this go with the China Glaze version. The formula is better. I know the China Glaze will be more expensive in stores, but I think the higher price is worth it. I really can't find any redeeming qualities on this one. Well, the name is cute? Still, not worth it!

My Rating: 1 out of 5 Paint Splatters

Yeah, I gave it one paint splatter for the name. Haha.

Happy Thursday!
