Different Dimension Totally 2.0

I've mentioned before that I love indie grab bags. I really think indie grab bags are my favorite way to shop indies. I'm entirely too overwhelmed and too busy to keep track of what is available in the indie market. It's just too hard to narrow down favorites and make decisions, so grab bags are perfect for someone like me. I always tend to put them on wishlists too for gift exchanges which is how I ended up with this Different Dimension beauty!

Totally 2.0
Totally 2.0 is a neon highlighter yellow with scattered holo.

Collection: 80's Baby All Grown Up Summer 2015

Color: I'm not really a yellow polish person at all, unless it's really special. This one is pretty special. It's very blinding and I love the saturation of color. The holo effect in here is subtle, but I prefer it that way. It gives this polish some dimension and depth.

Formula: The formula on this was OK. It does have some typical yellow polish traits. I used 3 coats here and you can tell the formula is a bit thinner in some spots. It was easy to apply though. In hindsight, I should have added a top coat because this does dry down to a satin finish.

Price: N/A. This one isn't available for individual purchase, but it could end up in a grab bag!

Overall: I do really like Totally 2.0 even though I'm not a big yellow fan. I love the vibrancy of this shade and the subtle holo effect. The formula was easy to apply, though it did have some expected yellow polish properties. All in all, a nice polish.

Fresh Paint Guava

Fresh Paint is a brand I discovered this past year at Five Below. I have really come to love the brand because they're really well-made polishes that come in a variety of colors. They're not indie innovative like polishes, but they're solid staple colors for a collection. I haven't come across a polish of theirs I didn't like until now.

Guava
Guava is a neon coral pastel creme.

Collection: N/A

Color: It's not the color I have a problem with. Neon pastels have been a thing for the past 3 years and I think they still are. This is very neon and very pastel. It's a great coral shade that gives me fingers and instant tan.

Formula: Here is where we go amiss. Pastel neons as pretty as they are can have some of the least forgiving formulas. This formula was rather chalky, thick, and not a pleasure to apply. It's very hard to have precision with formulas like this and it definitely shows if you're not a perfect polisher. It's clear I don't have uniform lines, especially around the cuticle. Normally, I'd blame myself since I am "Imperfectly Painted", but it's really the pain in the butt formula to blame. This one is just too much effort than it's worth.

Price: I bought 3 polishes for $5. That's the sale Five Below has with a majority of their nail polishes.

Overall: Nice color, not a great formula. This is the type of polish where you know as you put the brush to your nail you're going to have a bad time. I hate my paint job with this one because of the formula, so I have irrational rage towards this polish now. Go away Guava. I hate you.

4th of July Mani Spam

Happy 4th of July to all of my American readers! This has always been one of my favorite holidays. I've mentioned before why I love it so much. I think I bring it up every year for the past 6 years so I'm sure you're tired of hearing it. Long story short, we had family friends growing up who hosted this really fun cookout and pool party on July 4th. The lady who hosted the party always gave out the coolest toys to the kids there so that's probably why I liked it so much. I loved swimming and toys, so yay 4th of July!

Since I was too lazy to do a 4th of July manicure post, how about I spam you with some red, white, and blue mani spam?

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 6/26/16-7/3/16

It was a fairly good week for wax. I didn't have a dud this week which is a nice change because I've had so many in recent weeks. I've also dabbled a bit into wintery scents this past week which is odd considering it is sweltering outside!
Better Homes & Gardens Cranberry Apple Martini
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: I purchased this before Christmas time and when I sniffed it then I felt that it didn't smell like a winter scent. It was too fruity and bright. Well, when I melted it this past week I felt it wasn't really a summer scent either. This is more of a fall scent. That being said, it's really nice. It's strong on the cranberry, so it's a bit tart, but it also has this fruit punch vibe going on. It's a great scent, but I think I'll like it more in September than June/July!
Scent Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: N/A, it was limited edition during the holiday season, but it could reappear!

Ten Digit Creations Suds in the Bucket
Scent Description: fresh linens, lavender, and vanilla
My Thoughts: I'm a lavender fan, but I'm not a huge vanilla fan. This one was a gamble for me and I'd say I like it about 75%. I'd say this is about 70% vanilla/linen note and 30% lavender. I wish it were the other way around. It is a very nice clean scent. I melted it for a good 3-4 hours and then I started to find those vanilla/linen notes a bit overpowering. I do like this one, but it does have a time limit for me.

Ten Digit Creations Dragonfly
Scent Description: she smells of jasmine blooms, fresh air, and sunshine
My Thoughts: Jasmine is a scent people either love or hate. I love jasmine. I thought this scent was very strong as far as jasmine notes go. It's very fresh and floral. I do get a touch of an airy note to this and I wish that airy note had a bigger role. I do like this scent, but it could be mellowed out just a pinch.
Scent Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Ten Digit Creations Blue Christmas
Scent Description: orange peels, cloves, fir needles, and cinnamon
My Thoughts: If I'm melting Christmas scents in July it's usually because I'm craving something cool and crisp. Blue Christmas fits that bill. It's a really nice blend of a bright citrus, wintery crisp air, and Christmas tree. I do detect a teensy bit of cinnamon, but it is very much in the background. This is the type of scent that remind of when you go outside on a very cold day during the holidays and take a deep breath in. It's so crisp, refreshing, and festive!

LevelUp Lacquer Temporal Flux

It's rare I buy a full nail polish collection these days. When I saw LevelUp Lacquer's Intergalactic Flakie collection pop up on her Instagram I knew I was in trouble. I've come to realize I'm really into these crelly-flakie-holo combinations. I think they're definitely my favorite finish of the moment. I snatched up this collection on its release date and I have one of them to share with you today.

Temporal Flux
Temporal Flux is an fff white almost grey crelly polish with holo micro glitter and chameleon flakies!

Collection: LevelUp Lacquer Intergalactic Flakie Collection 2016

Color: I really am not a fan of white crellies. I find they look way too harsh against my skin tone. I love that this crellie is grey. It is so much more friendly against my skin. What I really love about this color are those chameleon flakies and that holo sparkle. This is like a space version of Funfetti cake!

Formula: I really enjoyed this formula, but I was worried at first. I used 3 coats above. This formula is sheer and thin on first application, but I really prefer that with crellies. I find I have more control over the formula when it is thinner with crellies. Formulas like these spread out more evenly on the nail and don't bulk up or get goopy like thicker formulas. This was fully opaque in 3 coats.

Price: You can purchase Temporal Flux at a 16.5ml size for $10.00, 11ml size for $8.50, or 5ml size for $4.50 on their website. I have the 11ml size and I think that is perfect.

Overall: I love this polish! I love the color and all of those added magical flakie and holo bits that make this polish so special. The formula is excellent and the price is a steal too. This is one is definitely up there as a favorite polish for this year.
