Finger Paints Coral Collage...I love thee

We're going to go from yesterday's bad to today's good. One of the fun things I enjoy about nail polish is that the many variations of shades. There isn't just one universal red, blue, green, or pink that looks good on everyone or everyone likes. I think everyone has that one shade from each color family that is "their" red or "their" blue. It's a fun and sometimes frustrating process to help find your "it" color. For example I think I've covered all the color bases except greens. I have yet to find a green, mint green, whatever shade of green that suits me. It will be an ongoing quest! Of course you can also have more than one "it" color.

Today I'm going to talk about my "it" coral color. Finger Paints Coral Collage definitely fits the bill. I love corals. I don't care for orange, but I love corals. That probably doesn't make too much sense since they are similar. I tend to like corals that have more pink or red in them than orange.

Coral Collage

Coral Collage is a bright reddish-pink toned coral jelly. I love the words coral and jelly combined. It's a beautiful, fun, and beachy shade. I wish I could give you a better description, but I don' think this color needs much pomp and circumstance. It's just a great shade and my personal favorite coral among the millions out there!

Have you found your "it" coral? Do you have any favorite corals?

Yuck! I HATE this color!

I am sure I'm not the only one to have that reaction to a nail polish color. As much as we all love nail polish we have to admit we have come across colors that we hate and kick ourselves for buying.

This is how feel about a particular color. Now, before I get into it this is my personal opinion on this color. You may love this color and it may look good on you, but for me it doesn't work out.

The color I'm talking about is Misa Fleeting Hibiscus. I have 2 reasons for buying this one of them being a petty reason the other being what I thought was a valid reason. The petty reason is I love hibiscus flowers, so I was drawn to the name. The valid reason is I saw a swatch of this somewhere else and it looked way different than what I came up with!

Misa Fleeting Hibiscus

Fleeting Hibiscus can best be described as crushed up chalky Pepto Bismol stomach tablets that is mixed in with the poop from a bird who swallowed frosty eye shadow from my wacky aunt who likes to wear overly happy Christmas tree nail stickers on her nails. I'm very susceptible to the power of suggestion or I'm just a hypochondriac. I see something that reminds me of Pepto Bismol and it makes me nauseous. My mom used to shove that stuff down my throat when I was sick saying it would make me feel better, but it never did it just made me throw up. Suffice it, i to say Pepto Bismol colors literally make me queasy because of what they remind me of :P.

Ok, to be fair a more appropriate description would be... that this is a frosty-pearl baby pink. I hate this. This looks terrible on my skin tone and I think it makes my hands look sickly. This looks like frosty chalk that someone mixed in water and called it nail polish. I really don't like it. I saw a swatch of this and it looked like a brighter pink with silver shimmer. I was wrong. I shouldn't of been so impulsive to by it because of the name and with only seeing one swatch. You live and you learn. However, as much as I despise this color I'm sure it may look nice on someone, but it isn't my cup of tea. I'm sure some of you may even love this color. No worries, I will not hold it against you. We all have different tastes. :)

Is there a color you absolutely hate? What color is it?

Happy Wednesday!

Sephora by OPI- Mr. Right Now

Have you ever purchased a color and then got home thinking how that color doesn't seem that exciting and you probably already have a color similar? However, when you finally put it on your nails your amazed and very happy you bought it?

This is how I feel about Mr. Right Now, except I purchased it online. I had to guess what it was going to look like. When I got it, it just looked like a general red that you can find anywhere but on the nail it was a different story. This color has a little secret that you can't see through the bottle!

Mr. Right Now

Mr. Right Now is that perfect sexy JELLY red. It doesn't go on streaky, it is as close to perfect as you can get. This color is hot and sexy. I'm not even going to use pretty words to describe it. This isn't a frilly happy bunny and rainbows color. I'd even say this a blood red or a candied apple red.

I think that it is important for women to feel sexy and beautiful. I think many of us have certain colors or outfits that make us feel that way. I think for me Mr. Right Now is definitely that color for me!

Do you have nail polish color that makes you feel confident, sexy, or beautiful (or all 3)? Which color is it?

Happy Tuesday!

Sinful Colors- What's Your Name? & 50 Questions

I have wide selection of black polishes. It's weird, because I rarely ever wear a black creme. I prefer to have a black with some sort of sparkle or shimmer to it. One of my favorite black polishes is What's Your Name by Sinful Colors. Don't even get me started on its name. I'm not a fan of the names by Sinful Colors they seem to be random and completely unrelated to the colors!

What's Your Name- indoors w/ flash

What's Your Name-
outdoors w/ sun

What's Your Name is a black creme mixed in with blue, green, teal, and purple duocrhome micro glitter. The glitter is similar to the colors on a peacock. In different lights and angles you can see different colors. It's a great black polish and for $2, I don't think you can go wrong!!

Do you like to go nude?

Well....do you? Come on...don't be shy! I'm just teasing! I'm sure you guys know where this is going. What I'm really asking is if you all like nude nail polish colors?

If you were to ask me even a few weeks ago if I like nude nail polish colors, I would of said no. I thought with the millions of fabulous colors out there why would I put on a boring nude? Well, I got interested in this shade because of QVC(shopping network on TV). Yes, you can laugh. Late at night I'll throw on QVC,I have never bought a thing off there, but it seems to relax me or bore me enough to fall asleep. Anyways, a lot of the hosts on the show I saw wearing this sheer nude nail polish, and I really liked how clean and fresh that looked, so that is what inspired me to find a similar shade. I came across Milani Creme Brulee and this seemed to be what I was looking for.

Milani- Creme Brulee

Creme Brulee is a sheer beige-nude-cream color. I'm sure since this is so sheer it will look different on different skin tones if that makes sense. This is 3 coats, but I think I could with 4. It's a very clean and natural look that is foreign to me, but I like it.

This is probably not a look I'll reach for often, but I'm glad I have it. I'm sure I'm not alone in this but I'd say about 95% of the time I do my nails in different colors of the rainbow. However, there are times that I just feel like I want to do something light or natural. I think this would be perfect polish for those times. It's very neat and fresh looking without having to go completely bare!

So, what do you think? Do you like nude nail polish colors?

Have a nice day!
