Wee Haul!

My parents sadly left yesterday. I feel silly being 24 and so attached to my parents. We live very far apart and I don't get to see them often. I really enjoy their visits. The past 2 weeks up until their visit had been rather hellish for me. I was struggling with a lot of stress, anxiety, and depression for various reasons. Thankfully, about mid-last week I started feeling myself again, and their visit really picked up my spirits. I'm sad to see them go, but I'm sure they'll be visiting again after the holidays. While they were here we did some shopping. I got some new clothes and of course nail polish! I wanted to share with you my goodies!

LA Colors L-R: Amethyst, Copper, Nectar, & Red Stilettos
I found these at Dollar General for $1 each. I also found Poshe Fast Drying Top Coat for $3 each! I grabbed  3 bottles of those!

China Glaze L-R: Midnight Mission, Zombie Zest, Kiwi Cool-Ada, & Emerald Fitzgerald
I got all of these at Sally's. All of them where on sale for $1.99 except for Zombie Zest.

LA Splash L-R: Terra Beach, Treasure Splash, Sparkling Rose, French Sparkle, Pretty Jellyfish, Pink Dream, Sparkling Gold, & Glitz & Berry
I think I now have an LA Splash addiction. These were on sale at Ulta for $1.99 each.

L-R: Nite Lites Pink Flamingo & Borghese Rossi Apple
I got both of these at Ulta. The Nite Lites was $2.99 and I got the Borghese on sale for $1.99

Lane Bryant L-R: Island Volcano & Mahalo Dream

First of all, I had no idea Lane Bryant had nail polishes, but I'm glad they did. I got these at the Lane Bryant outlet. These are jam packed glitter flakies!!!! I just wish the names were switched. It would of made more sense if the reddish one was Island Volcano. These were $6.00 each but it was BOGO 1/2 off. Pretty pricey in my opinion. The other colors were very general, but for these flakies I think it was worth it!

That's what I got this past weekend. Swatches to come soon. I can't wait to show you these flakies. That blue one is amazing!!!

Happy Tuesday!

Savvy Magic Pumpkin

Hey everyone! Today is the last full day with my parents. They're leaving tomorrow afternoon :(. I always enjoy their visits. It always feels like I'm on vacation when they're here. We go out to each every meal, do shopping, and do fun activities. It's nice. I live in tourist town, but I don't do the touristy things unless they're here so this has been a nice break from school and life.

Anywho! This is Savvy Magic Pumpkin. This was part of the Femme Couture collection, and this color came with a handful of other sparkly top coats at Sally Beauty.

Magic Pumpkin

This is definitely a color for layering. This is a sheer orange base with iridescent glitter that flashes gold and green. Here I have layered if over NYC Times Square Tangerine (index & ring finger) & WnW Black Creme (middle & pink finger). I love both of these looks. Magic Pumpkin on the NYC orange polish gives it a pretty more feminine sparkly color, while on the black gives it this vampy green shimmery color. I love it over black. I think this would look great for Halloween.

That's it for today. I have done some hauling this weekend, so expect to see some haul photos Monday or Tuesday. I got quite a few LA Splash glitter colors I'm very excited about!

Happy Sunday!

Sinful Colors Out Of This World

I won this lovely color from Ice Queen's Nail Parlour giveaway a little awhile ago. This is a color I probably would of never got on my own, but I'm thankful I was able to try it because I really like it. Thank you Ice Queen!

Out of this World

At first I thought this was a layering polish. You can definitely use it as that, but if I don't mind doing 4 coats you can get full coverage. This what I'd call a pale silver foil metallic. In my opinion this color is very unique. I've seen plenty of mid-tone silver foils, but I haven't seen one as light as this. I really like it. It reminds me of snow and the Christmas song "Silver Bells" (and silver bells themselves). Now, that song will be in my head the rest of the day. I think this would be a great holiday color. I know the name doesn't suggest that, but oh well!

My parents are coming in town today for the weekend. I'm very excited to see them. I managed to finish all my school work, so I won't have to worry about that while they're here. My mom is going to color my hair tomorrow. I'm scared I've never colored my hair outside of a salon. My natural hair color is probably the darkest brown you can get before you'd call it black. I wanted to add some red tones to it, so I got this color "dark mahogany brown". I'm paranoid it will turn out to be Ariel red or something. I need to learn to take some risks, so we'll see how it goes!

Happy Friday!

Sally Hansen Mystic Lilac

I think Orlando is one of the last places to get new collections. At least around where I live I don't see new collections until 2-3 weeks after someone first posts them or in the case with the new Sally Xtreme Wears...2 months? I searched high and low for these and just found them 2 weeks ago. I first only found Purple Gala and didn't see Mystic Lilac. I first thought I wouldn't care for Mystic Lilac, but when I spotted at a different Walgreens I changed my mind.

Mystic Lilac

Mystic Lilac is a pale lilac-grey creme mixed in with this sea green shimmer. This is such a unique shade. They could of easily put in a silver shimmer, a gold shimmer, or a grey shimmer. I love how they chose to put in a green shimmer. It's something I never would of expected and I truly love. Polish companies you should try this more! This is a great fall shade. I love they grey-taupe cremes for fall, but I haven't seen any with shimmer lately. This a nice surprise.

The only downside to this polish is this doesn't look good on my skin tone. I'm exhibiting major lobster hands with this one. That being said, I don't really care. I love this shade!

What are some of your favorite polishes that don't work with your skin tone that you still love to wear?

Happy Thursday!

Advertising/Spamming

Hey there everyone!

I really tried to tolerate this as much as I could, but it's becoming a constant issue in my comments lately. I don't want to be rude or hurt anyones feelings, but people constantly posting links their blog in my comment section is getting frustrating.

I've never felt a need to make a rule about this, but it has been increasing lately. Honestly, I do not mind if you post a link to your blog once in my comment section. I don't think it's the best blog etiquette, but I know being new to blogging can be challenging and you are unaware of what is considered polite and what isn't. What I have an issue with is the people who either..

1. Comment daily and always add a link to their blog after their comment. If you've already posted your link once, please do not post it again.
2. Give me some disingenuous comment like "cool!" and then link to your blog. This goes along with number #1. Most people who do this are the people who are regularly "comment" and add a link to their blog every time. This is very transparent, I know you are only posting that to get away with posting a link to your blog. I can tell the difference between who is sincere and who is not.
3. People who just post a link to their blog and nothing else.
4. People who tell me in the comments "Follow me and I'll follow you back" with a link to their blog.

Starting today I will be deleting comments that exhibit any of  what is listed above. As I said before, I honestly do not mind if you post a link to your blog once. I'm giving you a free pass here because I know not everyone is aware that isn't exactly polite. I'm really cracking down on the people who abuse the commenting system continually to advertise themselves.

**I of course don't mind if you send me links to your blog to receive awards or you want to share a link with me in order to show me something that relates to my post etc.**

All of this being said, if you would like to share your blog with me you can always email me, tweet it to me, or facebook message it to me. You can find access to all of those things on the social media buttons on the right sidebar of my page. I enjoy reading new blogs. I was a newbie once too, and I know people are eager to gain a following. I think there are far more appropriate ways to get a following. These are just a few things that helped me. I'm in no way an expert on blogging, but I've found these methods to be successful.

1. Follow blogs you enjoy. Leave sincere comments on peoples posts that you like, no links!Usually, people will return the favor.
2. Get a twitter account and start getting to know other bloggers.
3. Make sure you are blogging for the right reasons. Blogging is something that should be fun and enjoyable. It is very obvious when people blog just to get free samples or unnecessary attention.
4. Most of all be genuine. This goes along with #3. People can easily tell if you're not.

The main thing is be yourself! Be real! I hope my list of suggestions doesn't come as I think I'm a know it all. I wasn't writing that for that purpose. I've received questions in the past asking how to get a following, and I figured with the subject manner of this post I might as well throw those things out there.

That's my little rant for the day. Sorry, if I've offended anyone. Just remember starting today I will be removing comments that have links in them that have already posted links before.

Happy Wednesday!
