Color Club All That Razz

I came across this Color Club color at Bed Bath & Beyond. I had been wanting a hot pink-purple color for awhile, but I could never find exactly what I was looking for. The colors I would come across would either be too pink or too purple. When I found All That Razz it was just right!

All That Razz

All That Razz is a bright neon magenta creme.

This color is an "it" color for me. I don't like to sound boastful in my posts at all, but there are some colors that just compliment you so well. All That Razz is one of those colors for me. It's like when the Prince slipped the glass slipper on Cinderella. Lol, I know that's a bit much, but I'm really giddy on how great this color is!  If you think of Zoya Charisma and Color Club Warhol this color is right in between those. It is prominently pink with just a touch of purple. This color is bright, cheerful, and was a dream to apply. I am in love. ♥

What nail polishes give you a Cinderella moment because they just suit you so well?

Happy Friday!

Sally Hansen In A Flurry...Dud?

I actually almost titled this post "Sally Hansen In a Fluffy". That would of been more entertaining. As far as I know In a Flurry is/was an LE color from the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri line. I saw swatches of it online thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread, and went on a mission to find it. I found it, I swatched it. I thought it was extremely underwhelming, so much so it irritates me. I'm actually hoping my bottle is a dud or something because it looks nothing like other swatches I've seen.

In A Flurry

In a Flurry is a deep navy/teal jelly base with blue, green,  gold, and, silver flecks of glitter and a purple duochrome-like shimmer.

This looks absolutely nothing like Scrangie's  amazing photo of this. In fact, I've seen some blogs with photos of it where it looks amazing, and some blogs where the colors looks really lackluster like mine. The glitter in mine was drowned out by the base, and I barely noticed much sparkle at all. The shimmer in it seems too pronounced .  I don't know if either the bloggers who had great pictures of it just have really awesome cameras, or if there is a not-so-great batch of this polish out there that some of us got? It's certainly not a horribly ugly polish, but based on what I saw from other bloggers it looked 10 times better than this! It's not what I expected at all. It's a mystery to me.

Happy Thursday!

Cling/Saran Wrap Nails Using CND Effects

This is one for the record books folks. I attempted a nail art technique. As many of you know I'm a minimalist when it comes to doing my nails. I usually just do one color on my nails. I may layer a glitter shimmer over a color, or do an accent nail, but that is as far as I usually stretch it with my nails. The reason is I don't really have the patience or talent for nail art. When I started seeing cling/saran wrap manicures I thought I could do it. It didn't look too hard or challenging, and it didn't seem to leave much of a mess either. So here it goes!

I used Milani Black Swift as a base and let that dry completely. I followed that up with CND Effects Violet Shimmer immediately dabbing over it with cling wrap, and let that dry. Then I repeated that cycle using CND Effects Emerald Shimmer, Ice Blue Shimmer, and Copper Shimmer letting it dry between each color..and viola!

I love love love the look of this! It almost looks holographic doesn't it? I love the marbled look of these colors meshed together with the tiny bits of black peaking through. Very cool. This was easy to do as well. This is a good general tutorial on cling/saran wrap nails. The only difference is I used multiple colors rather than just one. The trick is you have to make sure each coat is dry before you do the cling wrap. It's an easy technique, but it does require some patience as far as time, but the result is great!

Happy Wednesday!

Pirate Polish Review

Today I have some indie polishes to show you by Pirate Polish. Pirate Polish is made by Tara who has a blog called The Lacquer Tracker. She has a a great variety of finishes and colors to choose from. I will be using Tara's descriptions of her polishes in my review followed by my thoughts on them.

Leeloo

Leeloo is part of my 5th Element inspired duo of polishes. This combination of vibrant orange glitters is suspended in a milky white base and is based upon Leeloo's orange hair and outfit in The Fifth Element.

I would of never thought to put these colors together. This is so unusual and different that I can't help but love it. It really is something special. The formula was smooth and easy to work with. I think this would be a cool color for Halloween if you are looking ahead for that. It's not the traditional black and orange, but if you're looking for something different that also packs a fun punch Leeloo would fit that bill!

Multipass over China Glaze VII

Multipass is a vibrant mixture of shiny metallic glitters in a variety of colours and shapes, all suspended in a clear base. In the swatches above, you can see it pictured over a black creme. This lacquer is part of a duo of polishes inspired by the movie The 5th Element.

I like the combination of colors and sizes of glitters in this one. This is like confetti on the nail. The larger glitters (particularly the square ones) I did not find to lay completely flat on the nail even after top coat was applied. These are not taco glitters. They do not fold completely in half at all. I do not want that to be mistaken. The edges of these glitters do slightly stick up where you may be able to feel the points of them on the nail. This is something that some people don't mind at all while others do. Tara and I talked about this polish, and she has noted this in her etsy listing. This is an expected result with such large glitter.

Radioactive over Milani Yellow Whiz

Radioactive is a retina-searing combination of neon green and neon yellow particles suspended in a clear base. This lacquer can be opaque when worn by itself, but can also be layered over other polishes to create a unique effect.

You could wear this alone and get close to opaque coverage, but I preferred layering it. I love the vibrancy of the these glitters. I really love neon glitters to start with, and this isn't any exception. This also applied nicely and evenly.

The Buffster

The Buffster pays homage to the main character in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and is loosely based off a certain purple pleather trench coat that Buffy wore in Season 2. The Buffster is a vibrant and extremely pigmented mid-tone violet loaded with holographic shimmer, ultrafine deep purple glitter, and a strong pink flash.

This is my absolute favorite right here. The pigmentation of this purple is excellent. The addition of the glitter, shimmer, and pink flash are icing, sprinkles, and candles on top of the already great cake. This is polish has amazing coverage. The formula on it is great and easy to work with. No complains. This purple rocks!

I enjoyed these polishes by Pirate Polish. My favorites of these are definitely The Buffster and Leeloo. You should check out her etsy page to see more polishes she offers along with their descriptions and photos. There is a lot to choose from, and I think there is something for everyone as far as personal taste. You can also like Pirate Polish on Facebook.
