It's been a fairly good week of melting. I only had one I didn't like in the bunch. I am running into a bit of problem! I'm running out of new wax to melt. I've melted through all most all my new wax and only have waxes I've reviewed. I'm hoping my Walmart gets in the new ScentSationals spring line up soon!
DD Beach Getaway
Scent Description: ocean air with a hint of vacation
My Thoughts: I'm not sure what a "hint of vacation" smells like exactly, but I'm on board with this one. This smells similar to me to Yankee Candle's Sun & Sand. It has a strong salty ocean water note blended with that sandy beachy note. I like it. This is definitely one of those scents that I think is universally pleasing. You can't go wrong. It's fresh and beachy. It's not a stunner or a one-of-kind type scent, but definitely good solid scent. This has a good throw and lasted several hours when melted.
Where To Buy: Hobby Lobby store
Ten Digit Creations Olive Blossom
Scent Description: fresh and clean aroma composed of fresh olive leaves, green ivy, crisp orange, with subtle notes of sandalwood and musk
My Thoughts: If you like rich and complex perfume-like scents, Olive Blossom is for you. I like those types of scents so I love this one. It's so hard to describe because I don't pick up on individual notes in this, it's just an overall elegant and rich floral perfume-like scent. This one is strong and had a great throw.
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations
Ten Digit Creations Fifty Shades of Blue
Scent Description: the warmth of the Mediterranean brought to you by notes of bergamot, mandarin, lemon, and orange
My Thoughts: This is supposed to be a dupe to Lush's Olive Branch, which I've never smelled so I can't compare. What I will say is this one gets raved about a lot, but I really hated it. I don't get any bergamot, mandarin, lemon, or orange from this. This to me smells like powdery overly frilly grandma perfume mixed with cotton candy. It's sickly sweet, powdery, and just yuck. It's also strong, which didn't help matters for me. This scent is popular, so maybe it's just my nose? Do.not.like.
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations
ScentSationals Garden Cantaloupe
Scent Description: Cantaloupe straight from the garden bursts with the fragrance of sweet, sugary melons freshly cut and ready to eat.
My Thoughts: This is straight up pure cantaloupe. I love melon scents. They're the perfect blend of fresh, sweet, and watery notes. This is perfect. It doesn't smell artificial nor is it overly sweet. It's refreshing and makes me want to eat some cantaloupe! This is a winner! This has a great throw.

Sephora Formula X Aura
I have another polish from the Sephora Formula X Black Quartz collection to share with you today. I only have 2 from this collection and based on the 2 I have I'm going to need the other 3! These are beautiful blends of jewel-toned glitters in a black jelly base. I've never seen polishes with finishes like this done well. The glitters are usually drowned out by the jelly base. These are not and have that perfect balance.
Aura
Aura is a black jelly base packed with ruby red glitters.
Collection: Sephora Formula X Black Quartz Collection 2015
Color: You can't go wrong with red and black. This is gorgeous ruby red glitter and I love how it pops against that black base. This color looks rich and classy. No complaints here.
Formula: I used 3 coats on this swatch. I didn't have trouble with application. This does dry down matte and dull so 1-2 coats of top coat will give it the shine it needs to really pop.
Price: This is $12.50 from Sephora.
Overall: I love Aura. This collection is gorgeous and I love how they achieved the perfect balance of base and glitter when using a black jelly base. This isn't something I've seen accomplished well at all. My only complaint is that these dry down matte, it can be resolved with top coat, but I was surprised this didn't have a shiny finish on its own.

FingerPaints Rockin' Renaissance
On a recent trip to Sally's this FingerPaints color caught my eye. There was more to it than meets the eye though! I'm still in my neutral phase and this one while it has some pink to it still reads to me as a neutral based on the subtly of the color. It's also metallic!
Rockin' Renaissance
Rockin' Renaissance is a dusty rose mixed with gold metallic texture.
Collection: FingerPaints Core Line
Color: This is hard color to describe. The main base of this polish is a dusty and muted rosy pink, but it's mixed with golden flecks. This does read to me as something on the rose-gold spectrum, but there is more pink than gold. I love this color because is a subdued pink so I think it would flatter many skin tones and many color palettes in regards to clothing and makeup.
Formula: What surprised me about this polish is that it was a texture! I had no idea it was when purchasing it. I thought it was a glitter. I'm on the fence with textures, but I really like this one because of how metallic it is. I do like it, but I can't say I wasn't a little disappointed this wasn't just a glitter. I used 2 coats and it applied smoothly. I did try to add top coat to this to see if I could get a shiny finish, but it ate my top coat. Unless, you want to layer gel-like top coat on this, you're going to be stuck with a texture.
Price: I believe I got this at Sally's for around $6.
Overall: I like Rockin' Renaissance. I think the color is beautiful and if you're a a fan of rose gold colors you will definitely like this. The textured formula was a surprise to me, but I do end up liking it because of the metallic finish. I think this a color that is flattering and would look nice on many.

China Glaze Let's Dew It
I almost feel like the time of the glitter topper is over. Over the past 2 years they've diminished greatly in number. We are definitely in the age of holos. I need to stop talking like Galadriel in The Lord of the Rings. I must say my use of glitter toppers has waned too. I think we just don't need them that much anymore with holos, crellies, and jellies.
That beings said as someone who doesn't do nail art and looks for ways to embellish manicures I do reach for them on occasion. I'm happy to come across a nice one too. I really like this China Glaze one from the the recent fall collection.
Let's Dew It (over Cuccio Wild Knights)
Let's Dew It is a mix of steely blue and silver micro glitters and shimmer in a clear base.
Collection: China Glaze The Great Outdoors Fall 2015
Color: I love the color of the glitter and the complexity of it. This steely blue is perfect because it's not the traditional or gold glitter, but it still falls into that neutral category. I mentioned in a post last week that I'm really into neutral manis right now, and this would fall into that category for me. I absolutely love the mix of glitter types in this as it really gives this glitter a lot of depth and dimension.
Formula: This was easily to apply and glitters spread out evenly on the nail. I used one coat over a base. You could definitely build this up more over a base for an even more blingy manicure. Personally, I don't feel this could be built up to opacity in reasonable amount of coats. This glitter does cover well, but you'd still see your nail underneath.
Price: I'm not sure this is still available in stores, but it's very easy to find online in the $4-$7 range.
Overall: I love Let's Do It, it rekindled my love for glitter toppers. It's a gorgeous color glitter and I love the density and mix of glitters in it. I love the way it looks topped over similar dusty blues for a neutral and monotone look.
