NYX Seattle Storm

I was really excited to know that NYX Cosmetics opened up a store at a mall near me. NYX is definitely my favorite drugstore beauty brand. I especially love their lip products. I was really excited to be able to see all of their products in one place. Ulta has a pretty good selection, but it's nothing like having a whole store dedicated to NYX products. The store was tiny, but one of the first things that caught my eye is that they sold nail polish in their store. NYX has gone through a few bottle designs and lines of nail polish, but I've never seen them in a store. I was drawn to this color in the store and had to pick it up.

Seattle Storm
Seattle Storm is a grey-beige with a hint of lavender creme.

Collection: Core

Color: We saw the emergence of these greige/gravender colors in 2010-2012, but they haven't lost their appeal to me. I find myself more drawn to colors like this now than I did back then. I love a great neutral especially in those transitional times of seasons. It's still summer, but I'm ready for fall. I just don't want to dive into fall all the way yet. These are the types of colors I reach for now. It's a great color for any occasion or season really.

Formula: I wasn't really expecting much with this formula, but I loved it. It was perfection. It wasn't too thick or too thin. I felt the brush was great too and I had full control of the formula and application. I used 2 coats here.

Price: This is $5 at NYX Cosmetics stores or on their website.

Overall: Seattle Storm is a great neutral creme. I love this color because it's so sophisticated and chic without being ordinary. The formulation on this was excellent and even the price is great considering how much nail polish is these days. This is a definite win for me.

Weekly Wax Wrap Up: 8/7/16-8/14/16

This has been a good week for wax, not just because I melted some good ones, but I found some new ones. I went to Walmart last Monday and they did have a handful fall scents out. I also got a Ten Digit Creations order with some new to me scents. Let's check out what I melted this week.
ScentSationals Nag Champa Incense
Scent Description: A space for peace
My Thoughts: Not a very descriptive scent description there. This scent is spectacular. This does have a traditional nag champa scent, but it also has this very clean and fresh element as well. I definitely get an earthy/floral base, but it has a brightness and I'd even call it a soapiness to it. It reminds me a lot of Lush's Celebrate. It has a lot of elements but overall creates an excellent scent. This is one of my favorite new scents I've come across in a while.
Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Walmart

Ten Digit Creations Bamboo & White Grapefruit
Scent Description: fresh and clean scent of bamboo stalks and white grapefruits
My Thoughts: I got this as an unexpected sample and I'm so glad I did. I would have never bought it myself and it is a beautiful scent. The combination of the green bamboo and the tart citrus grapefruit is perfection. This to me smells like the ultimate spa scent. It's very green, crisp, and natural. This scent is a winner and I'll be purchasing it in a full-size melt for sure.
Throw: 4/5
Where To Buy: Ten Digit Creations

Better Homes & Gardens Autumn Afternoon Stroll (Golden Oak Leaves + Apples & Acorns)
Scent Description: N/A
My Thoughts: This is one of the dual scent packs where you have two different scents and you can melt them together or separately. I melted these together and it was absolute fall bliss. The Golden Oak Leaves side has a very sharp woodsy and smoky note while the Apples & Acorns has an apple, spice, and nutty blend. I don't think I'd like these melted individually, but together they're amazing. Blended they have this perfect woodsy, apple spice, with this touch of campfire smokiness going on. I know that's a mouthful, but it's of those complex scents that thankfully less isn't more. It needs all of those elements to be so good.
Throw: 4.5/5
Where To Buy: Walmart

Ten Digit Creations Tohrment
Scent Description: blend of lavender, jasmine, sandalwood, oak moss, and musk (Compare to Cool Water by Davidoff)
My Thoughts: I can't compare to the cologne because I don't have it, but this a nice scent. It's one of those fresh and crisp masculine scents. I like it enough, but I didn't find the throw to be so great. It had a strong throw if you were 2-4 ft away from it, but after that, I could only catch whiffs of it here and there.
Throw: 2.5/5

Ever After Stuffed

When I went to Ever After Polish's website to buy Burning Twilight, I knew I didn't want just one polish. I'm not usually someone who buys full collections or multiple polishes at once because I'm on a budget, but I hate just buying one. I feel like I'm missing out. I saw Stuffed on the website too then and it intrigued me, so I picked that one up as well.

Stuffed
Stuffed is a sheer pale aqua crelly base with blue and green multichrome flakes, bronze glitter, aqua shimmer, and some holo dust.

Collection: Ever After Polish Thanksgiving Mystery Polish 2015

Color: If you know me well enough you know why I love this polish. Do I even need to tell you? It's because of that cool-warm metal color combination. I love blues, greens, or purples paired with gold, bronze, or copper. I also love all these little magical bits in this polish. The flakie, the bright aqua shimmer, and the bronze glitter really come together to make this special. Sometimes less is more, but done correctly more is more!

Formula: I was a bit surprised that the formula on this was sheer. That being said, I think it's meant to be sheer and I still really like it. I do wish it had a bit more opacity. The formula was very smooth and easy to use. I did not have any application issues. To achieve this look I used 4 coats.

Price: N/A. This was available on the website a few months ago, but it's gone now. I'm not sure what the future of this polish will be?

Overall: This is a gorgeous polish with a great color combination and lot of great glitter/shimmer effects that give it dimension and depth. I still really like it despite being surprised it was sheer.

Girly Bits Sun Dog (August Colour of the Month)

* I received the following product in exchange for my honest review.

I have a new polish from Girly Bits to share with you today. This polish is part of her newly launched Colour of the Month series. This month there are two polishes, Sun Dog and Dancing in the Moonlight. I have Sun Dog to show you today. There are two opportunities to purchase this polish. Today is the last day for the first opportunity to purchase. The second opportunity to purchase will be on the 24th and it will remain available until the last day of the month unless it is sold out prior.

Sun Dog
Sun Dog is a is a light golden copper shimmer holo (shimmolo), with bronze micro flakes and copper shimmer.

Collection: Girly Bits August Colour of the Month 2016

Color: This is gorgeous summer golden holo with some fun bronze and copper sparkly bits. I love holos that have some other added effects to them that make them stand out. It's pretty color, but I think it maybe a bit warm for my skin tone.

Formula: This had an excellent formula. This was very smooth and easy to apply. I used 2 coats above.

Price: This is $12.55 on Girly Bits website. Please note the purchasing opportunities I listed above for more information on how to purchase and when.

Overall: I love holo like this that have some added dimension. This golden bronze is a perfect color for summer and definitely ties into the Olympics going on right now. I'm not sure this is the best color for me, but I think outside of that it's nice color with an excellent formula.

DIFFERENT dimension: Pretty Nauti Collection (3 of 8)

*I received the following products in exchange for my honest review.

Cosmoprof 2016 polish reviews have commenced! First off, I have a few polishes from Different Dimension's Pretty Nauti Collection. This collection is now available for purchase on Different Dimension's website. I love the variety of colors and cleve names in this collection.

Pier Pressure
Pier Pressure is a silver holographic glitters mixed with colors reminiscent of broken sea glass in a shimmery holographic base. (3 coats)

Bad Buoy
Bad Buoy is a navy blue jelly polish with added contrasting shimmers. (3 coats)

Ship Happens
Ship Happens is a white based crelly with added shimmer and glitters. (3 coats)

Collection: DIFFERENT dimension Pretty Nauti Collection August 2016

Colors: There are 5 more colors in this collection that I do not have, but I really like these colors. I love the variation of finishes I received in these 3 polishes as well. I love the richness of the blue in Bad Buoy. I'm a sucker for deep blues! I, of course, love a great glitter bomb like Pier Pressure.

Formula: The formulas on these were varied. Bad Buoy had a an excellent smooth and easy to apply formula. Ship Happens had a nice formula as well, but I found when I got to the 3rd coat which I felt it needed it was a little on the thick side on application. Pier Pressure is straight up glitter, so it requires a little more careful application on the 2nd and 3rd coats as it can start to thicken up on certain areas on the nail. That being said, I didn't have any substantial issues with the formula, just some little things I noticed.

Price: The entire 8 piece collection is $70.00. Individually, Pier Pressure is $10.00, Bad Buoy is $8.75, and Ship Happens is $5.00. They all can be purchased on the website.

Overall: I like the theme of this collection, the color selection, and the variety of finishes. Bad Buoy is a great blue that I think will be universally loved. There were a few minor formulation issues, but nothing that I wouldn't expect from polish formulas like that. I also like that there is a variety in pricing dependent on the finish. There is something for everyone.
